Common wisdom says a full eight sunrise effects main, but that hardly seems necessary. I've gone as low as six without ill effect, and lately have been running seven without any decease In win percent. This topic probably deserves some discussion as it is always good to try and find more room for stuff. Anyone else play around with the number with good results?
I'm currently running 7 main 1 side, because it is good to have a full eight when facing discard.

In my opinion Second Sunrise deck should play as many Sunrise effects as possible. It's very important in games when we have to double Sunrises like against Relic, Surgical Extraction or Fearie Macabre. That's why on last GP winner played 2 Twincast main - 8 Sunrise effects was too little for him.
I'm not cutting a Faith's Reward for anything specific. I just think 8 is overkill. It's important to streamline every aspect of a deck, and as far as I can tell, no one has ever even considered that you could cut a Faith's Reward. While it isn't bad to draw multiples, it isn't good either. You only need to draw one per cycle, and everything after that is just icing. I don't like icing on my eggs.

Second Sunrise/Faith's Reward is the best card in the deck. It is essentially a 0-mana spell that nets you a ton of advantage - you can Ancestral Recall, Manamorphose, and Rampant Growth for the low, low cost of nothing, as long as you have the proper board state. There is no reason to play less than the maximum number you can.
Think about it. Would you rather cast a Sleight of Hand for 1 blue mana, or crack 3 eggs and a Lotus Bloom, then cast a Sunrise? The latter case has you effectively drawing 3 cards for 0 mana. That said, would you rather your hand mid-combo consist of 2 Sunrises or a Sunrise and a Sleight?
The only card that is better than a 2nd Sunrise during the combo is Reshape, and then only if you have 1-3 eggs on the field. If you have two Sunrises you'll draw 2-6 cards, while if you have a Sunrise and a Reshape you'll draw 2-4 cards (cast Reshape for Bloom, net +1 mana, then cast an egg in your hand), plus have an additional Lotus Bloom on the field. The extra Bloom lets you cast up to 3 eggs/cantrips on your second cycle, so you can break even with the 2 Sunrise case. Not to mention the thinning you get from having 1 less Bloom in your library.
There's really no reason you shouldn't be playing 8 Sunrises. If you're playing 7, cut a cantrip for the 8th. If you're adamant about 7, just remember the next time you have a cantrip (or any other non-essential card) + Sunrise in hand mid-combo, you could be drawing twice the number of cards if that cantrip was a Sunrise instead.

Big Johnny.
Quite true.
Run the full 8. Even if you're running tech like Noxious Revival main, you would cut a sleight of hand before cutting a sunrise.
