This deck is similar to the Doran lists, it runs Confidant with Thalia and Finks in the board instead of main deck. It has Steppe Lynx instead of Doran, and the new Abrupt Decay instead of Maelstrom Pulse.
As far as the sideboard goes, Thalia should come in for Delver/Control/Jund in place of Knight or Decay. Kitchen Finks comes in against Zoo for the Confidant.
Please leave any comments/suggestions I'm very new to deck-building. (I'm really enjoying it though)
This might need to be moved to the Deck Creation sub-thread.
Apologies.
I'm sure Tom88 will be on that shortly...or TCF...
as for the deck, I like it. you might want to take a look at the Players Championship deck lists IIRC there was a Junk decklist for the modern portion....either Players' Championship or World Magic Cup

That particular Ajani doesn't really fit the deck IMO. 6 3-drops is going to make for some clunky draws as well. Lingering Souls would be better in that slot, unless you want to go with something like Liliana, which you would have to change up some of your other numbers to make it work well. Lingering Souls also plays well with Rancor. Swords are too slow for a 3-color deck. The deck is already slow if you are trying to avoid a lot of early damage against a RDW or one of it's variants. Against some of the Tempo decks, you will likely never have time to make use of Ajani in a manner that would be worth the 3-mana/1 turn investment. You are correct 21 lands is very greedy. I was having mana-issues even at 22. 23-24 is where you want to be with this deck if you plan on playing with Elspeth.
I offer this advice as a Modern format Junk player as well. I put the deck down, because Pulse was the only decent multi-use removal and 3 mana is a lot to removal one spell if it even resolves.

Thanks for all the tips, I will probably end up cutting Ajanis for lands and possibly switching the boarded Zealous Persecution for a Rancor or Basilisk Collar.
Not too sure about Lingering Souls though, it seems like that would be going in a different direction than Steppe Lynx, though I haven't played with that card.
Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
I had considered Tidehollow Sculler but the 2/2 doesn't match up well against most creatures (goyf/Lynx/Ape), spell snare is commonly played, and I would generally prefer Inquisition: It's a 1-drop that can slow down combo, takes a threat in aggro's curve and against Delver/control it can just grab a spell snare and allow you to resolve goyf/confidant.
Sculler may have been good at a time, but there is a lot of removal.

I thought that at first, but it turned out better than I thought it would. The Lynx almost always dies, or it wins. There's no in between with that card. The Lingering Souls give you Virtual CA after the Lynx is gone and they work amazingly well with Swords and Rancor. My favorite play is to play out the Lingering souls, play Rancor on a dude swing into whatever, rinse and repeat until they are dead. Lingering Souls allows you to machine gun attackers against them and literally grind them out of the game if they are a 1 creature per turn deck. If they extend into your Pulse, you get them.
You want to find some number of Infest as a sideboard option as well. Depending on your Meta swarming decks are capable of crushing you, but Tempo decks are a good matchup for you.

Infest doesn't seem good in this build. It kills Dark Confidant, Noble Hierarch, and Qasali Pridemage, in addition to Lingering Souls tokens. It also leaves Kird Ape and Loam Lion. I think the Zealous Persecution and Kitchen Finks are good to have access to in the 75. Maybe more Zealous are needed instead of fewer, I guess its back to testing.
Infest might be good against Affinity though, it keeps Knight of the Reliquary safe as well as Elspeth.
I might proxy up some potential aggro/swarm match-ups just to make sure.

You need a way to kill your own Bobs and take out of some of their board as well. Bob will kill you really fast in this deck. Upping the land count helps fight this, but since WOTC says we can't have Top in this format Bob usually turns out to be a liability.

Oh, That's a good point. I've found though that if I'm at a low life total I can just start attacking with Confidant. If they trade then I've gotten rid of it if they don't then I have a chance to race.
That said, there might be an argument for not playing confidant and going for a faster build instead. The problem is using rancor for example over Confidant leads to being weak against removal heavy deck and just loosing card advantage.
I'm not sure if main-decking Thalia would hurt.
Not giving up on Confidant too easily though, but Infest just seems like it could only be good against Affinity and it would hurt the Pridemages too much. I feel like if there was a card that gave -3/-3 then it would be effective against Zoo decks as well, but maybe the benefit of killing Traft is worth it. Then against that's what the Kitchen Finks are for.
Sorry for the rambling, you brought up an interesting point about Confidant, because I know some Jund lists run the Charm, but that has more utility.
Zealous Persection is an extremely solid card, especially with Lingering Souls. Don't dismiss Tidehollow Sculler so quickly, a turn 1 Inquisition/Thoughtseize followed by T2 Sculler is a very solid play to take the opponent out of the early game.
I have a Rock list I've been working on, I'll post it up here later if I remember.

Mutilate is a good idea, but maybe a little too expensive, I actually think Engineered Explosives might work better, its very versatile, it can be set to 1 against zoo and 2 to kill Confidant.
Another list to compare to would be great.
I have posted the latest list that I have been working on. Explosives are just what we were looking for, along with kitchen finks this has great zoo and affinity match-ups.
The Ajanis have been cut, though I'm still not sold on that decision, the reason they are no longer in the list is because he does nothing against a wrath.
A deathrite shaman had been added, there are now five mana dudes this one acts as a grim lavamancer in the late game, like lavamancer he isn't good in multiples.
With explosives, kataki is no longer needed, a second thrun was added, thrun is great against gifts decks.
Finally, I settled on 22 lands. Very rarely am I short on mana, and with 23 I was often flooded.
As always, more suggestions and alternate deck lists are greatly appreciated.
Your deck seems solid, I would strongly recommend 1-2 zealous persecution I'm not sure what your board looks like, but Thalia, Guardian of Thraben is great against a lot of decks. A lot of the time, Inquisition of Kozilek is better than Thoughtseize.
As for the mana-base, I would suggest cutting the murmuring bosk for a second overgrown tomb and replacing the ghost quarters with tectonic edges to slow down your opponent's late game.
Hope this helps.
Sorin 2.0 is always great, at the very least he's a permanent +1/+0 for four. at best, he steals everything, makes a lot of Markov Patrician tokens.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant is much better than Sorin, Lord of Innistrad
I think even in decks with 4 lingering souls. For Sorin to be good I think you also need to be playing other token generators (all less powerful than lingering souls) and cut green entirely. I think Sorin would be a good argument if Bitterblossom was unbanned.
I have again edited the decklist:
I added to the sideboard 3 leyline of sanctity against valakut, storm, and jund.
I switched the numbers of thoughtsieze and inquisition.
I moved bojuka bog to the main deck.
I would strongly suggest Thalia and Tidehollow Sculler. That way, you can get Doran, Goyf and Knight of the Reliquary as your huge beaters, Tidehollow Sculler and Thalia as your disruption, and your removal suit would consist of Liliana, Abrupt Decay and Path to Exile, plus 4-5 1cc discard. Then Confidant for draw, of course.

Sculler is too slow and vulnerable. Liliana is too slow and mana-intensive. If I find I need more discard, I will add more Inquisitions.
I was very skeptical about Sculler too, but let me tell you, once you play it you'll see yourself how great it is. Most times it causes your opponent to swear cause you picked out his only removal and he can't do anything about it.
Thanks I could try it, what would you recommend cutting for them?
