Figured this would be a good point of discussion. Who knows, maybe we could email WotC R&D en masse and get some results.

My top 5
1 Tarmogoyf- for obvious reasons- availability
2 Shocklands- more availability reasons
3 Price of Progress. I know that Anathemancer exists, but this is a full cheaper and seems great with Snapcaster Mage. I mean, Tribal Flames exists, right? The greedy manabases in this format need to be punished.
4. Cabal Therapy- I don't know how good this would be, but it has flashback and would really wreck hands. I just love this card.
5. Deep Analysis the card draw in this format is kind of meh. This card s not all great, but it can give control a chance to refill their hands when controlling the board. It also has flashback.

swords might be too good in the same format as path to exile and snapcaster mage. That's why the 2. b. lol.

Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

I'm going to make two lists. One of cards already legal that need a reprint for availability, and another of pre-modern cards that I think would be good additions without warping the format.
Modern Legal Reprints:
1. Tarmagoyf - They need to ban or reprint it to get the accessibility that is a stated goal for Modern. I don't really think he warrants a ban, so a Reprint is pretty needed here. I would go so far as to say they should make him a prerelease promo or similarly accessible card just to open up the format.
2. Dark Confidant - Another staple who is in high demand in a variety of decks, but not oppressive or in any way deserving of a ban.
3. Shocklands - Echoing here, but the shocklands make the manabases work, and the more people who can build their manabases, the more people will play the format. Should be a no-brainer.
4. The Swords - All five of them. They're probably the best equipments in the format, and easily added to decks as people want. Regardless of which is considered the best or worst, I think these would be good candidates for a core set cycle.
5. Tarmagoyf - Needs a reprint so badly I'll include him twice.
Not Currently Legal but should be reprinted:
1. Stifle - Trickbind just isn't good enough at 2 mana in this comboriffic metagame, and actual counters are as likely to be combo tools as control. Stifle would be a boon to the burgeoning control decks, and as has been seen in Legacy is also a great way to punish people for over reliance on fetchlands. Speaking of...
2. Onslaught Fetches - One block away from being included anyway, it feels odd to only have half the cycle available. I'd like to see these guys come back.
3. Reanimate, Animate Dead, Dance of the Dead - Any of these. Reanimator as a deck can't really exist right now with the high cost of reanimation spells (or their narrow application). Personally, I actually think Reanimate would be the fairest, with the life loss really mattering in a format full of shocklands and fetchlands.
4. Back to Basics - A favourite way to punish greedy manabases without outright pushing them out of the format.
5. Tarmagoyf - Every little bit helps, right?
ETA: I think that Swords to Plowshares would be way too much in the format, but would definitely second AK.
“My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.” - Jack Layton, RIP
Daze is at the top of my list. That card is so good. I would also like to see Accumulated Knowledge, Karmic Guide, Nimble Mongoose, Goblin Matron, and Ghastly Demise.
And Back to Basics is really bad. That would cause way too many games to turn into a chore. It won't be reprinted Modern-legal for the same reason that Stasis won't be reprinted.

Body Double is functionally the same in Lark combo's.
Granted, having Guide would help with the whole getting around Extirpate deal, but that's about it.
cycle lands would make gifts rock the best lol. that's all that deck needs is a good draw engine and it will be tier 1.

What do you all think?
FREE BLOODBRAID ELF
OOOh, Fireblast is good.
Goblin Bombardment would be sick with Empty the Warrens.
2. a Swords to plowshares(i would stop running path)
2. b. Accumulated knowledge
3. Moment's peace
4. Cycle Lands(either cycle of them)
5. Decree of justice(or the whole cycle, but I would only play this one)

Those are all good suggestions, Slipknot.
I especially like Accumulated Knowledge...no intuition in the format, so it is not broken.
Best way to save Modern: Ban Goyf, reprint Skyshroud Elite. Seriously.
Others:
Think of more later prolly.

That was my reasoning.

Feathers is funny. I like Skyshroud Elite as a suggestion though.
Swords to Plowshares is probably too good to in the same format as path (this ain't legacy), so good call there Slips.
Memory Lapse would be interesting, and annoying in a deck with Remand too. Tempo out the teeth....
I also like Ashinto's approach to the list. Nice and well thought out, sir.
Also, I have found trickbind to be pretty damn good. Split Second is worth the extra mana.
And Back to Basics is really bad. That would cause way too many games to turn into a chore. It won't be reprinted Modern-legal for the same reason that Stasis won't be reprinted.
Choke is legal....just sayin'
1)Goyf
2)Bob
3)Shocklands
4)Thoughtsieze
5)All the swords (fire/ice, light/shadow first and for most, but all over time.)
6)Plow under
If we are talking about cards we want printed to be brought into Modern...
1)Counterspell
2)Stifle
3)Cycle lands
4)Daze

Anyway;
1. Contested Cliffs
2. Brain Freeze
3. Wish cycle
4. Dreams cycle
5. Onslaught cycling lands... cycle.
I really want Contested Cliffs, though.
Honorable mention: Moment's Peace
edit: No, Body Double is not the same as Karmic Guide in Lark combos.
Interesting. I like these. Good call, CherryMX.
