Because removal works both ways. Removing something that has defender, for instance, and removing life from my opponent. From a turn 5 kill to a turn 2-3 kill. Not 100% but consistently enough.
I feel like you're overestimating what burn can do. I think Punishing Fire is as good as it gets for red removal right now, though, and it's in the deck.
If i am then how come theres decks completly designed around burn?
Punishing fire comes in a second place, along with a few others, to the forever winner, Lightning Bolt.
I mean i'm not insulting your deck list, i just think that the deck you listed is a bit slower than the one i'm using. Different reasons, different strengths and abilities.
Believe me, I don't take insult from anything. It's all just constructive commentary and we need it to make the deck better. What would you cut from my list for Lightning Bolts? Personally I just think Punishing Fire is better in a deck that can benefit from Grove of the Burnwillows.
With that deck its hard, i like the creatures and the creature base works together well.
I cant really see how i can add those in with your list. If anything youd have to rebalance it with the lands. The only possibility as far as lands to take out is Karpulsan Forest. I mean, your deck list is good just not perfect, due to it missing a red deck staple.
True but I'd have to argue my list is much more aggro than burn, where as you might decide to play more burn than aggro. Believe me, if Grove of the Burnwillows wasn't in the format, I'd play Lightning Bolt in a second. But since it is, and Punishing Fire is around, I can't pass up the oppertunity to sometimes deal 2, 4 or 6 damage to a creature rather than just 3, however mana intensive it may be. Karpulsan Forest isn't so bad I believe at least in my list, that the mana costs are pretty forgiving as far as RR and GG costs, so Karpulsan Forest can shoot me once early game and add colorless forever after that. True, it's not the best, but it doesn't ETB which is the part that counts.
I can see where your coming from and you make a good point. It works with your deck list very well and i can see that.
I have now been able to extensively test this deck, i've only lost 2x out of 40-50 matches with my deck. True its just me being over competitive with casual school play, but none the less its kicking ass and taking names.
It turns out that the burn in this deck work well for early game life point removal, mid game creature removal and endgame is typically by turn 5 and its not need then because by then i typically have some kird apes, scabclans, stormbloods, bloodbraids and vengevines out. So the burn works very well in this deck. Helps out alot and defends me for alpha strikes every turn, and keeps it so my alpha strikes hit for max potential. ;D
I took out:
4 Forest
4 Mountain
4 Tattermunge Maniac

No but seriously you have 0 reason to run this over zoo unless you mean to not be competitive which is probably the case since you don't have goyf in your list.

Not trolling. Deck creation isn't just casual. Its just decks that haven't been seen or aren't players in the meta thus far.

Playing green aggro without a boost spell. Seems like instead of riftbolt. Vines of Vastwood would be a better pick. Burns good at all, but creature protection with massive damage possibility is better.
Turtleman, the problem with pump spells is that if you cast a Bloodbraid Elf and have no creatures in play then you flip one and lose the bonus. In the case of vines, even if you flip it you lose the bonus as it isn't meaningful unless you get at least a spell to slide off your creature or a pump.
Riftbolt was used in Legacy burn because it had few options for burn, and it was above the curve. In a deck like this your very likely to want to be proactive with your spells, so something like Slagstorm would fit better (not ideal though).
