Disrupting shoal Couldn't help but notice that it's up to around 9 dollars right now, are a lot of people using this now? I remember seeing it in a few lists in Phili, the only one that shot out to me was Infect though, and that's losing blazing shoal. I'm guessing a lot of people are thinking it's going to be a big card seeming how it went from junk rare to a 9 dollar card in such little time. I'm just curious about it, I tried it in merfolk and it didn't seem that spectacular to me.
Wondering what everyone else's thoughts are on this card? I'm thinking it will start to see more use once some control decks come up, but is it really good enough to be the second most expensive counter to buy in the format? I honestly think most people are just thinking it's the closest thing to force of will that the format has so they will have to have it.

Honestly disrupting shoal doesn't have the deck in needs or the meta. It goes best in a U-based aggro deck because that's the only way you can fit enough blue cards into a deck without making it really bad. U-based control is terrible.

In life all we can do is try to make things better. Sitting lost in old ways and fearing change only makes us outdated and ignorant.

It's not viable for the same reason that Counterbalance isn't viable (let's ignore the fact that Top is banned :P). There are too many cards played and they their CMC varies too wildly. If every deck had 16 1 drops or 16 2 drops then it might find a home, but until that happens there's too much variance to account for.
So basically it`s just speculation driving up the price and it isn`t really seeing any play? I was thinking this but just wanted to see if anyone out there has seen otherwise.
That could very well be the case. It was a "must-have" card in the old Infect-Shoal decks, and we all remember what happened to the prices of the cards in that deck. It could just be the remnants of the pre-September bannings. People aren't exactly happy to shell out $15.00 for a card only to have it becomes "worthless" overnight. No one is going to part with it for the $3-5.00 that it's worth, at that point they'd rather just hang on to their "sunk cost" and pray that it picks back up one day.
Hmm, I bought my playset for a dollar years ago. I can't really decide if I want to keep them or not. If I can get 30+ dollars worth of other cards for them I'm thinking it might be worth it to trade them.

Get off of them right now. Its only going to go down.

I've been pretty happy with the card in Splinter Twin; it lets you counter their effects on their end step and combo out which Pact of Negation does not do.
Is it worth the $9? Probably not, but it might just stay that high on the merit that some decks really want to play it and it's not all that easy to find.

It isn't bad as a two mana Nix that does something else when you're mana flooded. It can also pitch for free in the case you want to nuke your own hand to not to lose to some bomb your opponent just played.

It still doesn't see play now and it's probably not ever going to.
