The old Red thread sort of died, and I'm starting a primer for the deck anyway.
If you click here, you can see a primer I did for the legacy section on the deck. However, due to the relatively new nature of the format, my deck isn't as developed yet.
I'm running a higher land count for a few reasons. Firstly, it is to support Koth and some of the sideboard cards. Next, it's because Teetering Peaks is really more like a burn spell than a land. So in functionality, it's more like having 19 land.
So far in testing I'm liking this set up, but Modern isn't the only thing I play, so I can't devote all my time to it. My sideboard I'm sure could use work.
@feathers: Volcanic Fallout should probably be moved to the side, since you run a decent amount of creatures too. Flames of the Blood Hand should become something else, maybe Flame Javelin. And I would pick up some fetches and up the Lavamancer count to at least 3, if not 4. Check out bone_doc's Legacy RDW Primer for more ideas, it has a lot of info that is applicable to Modern too.
Here's the Modern build I'm thinking of running (the name is a reference to A Song of Ice and Fire):
Tectonic Edge is no Wasteland, true, but it still might be good in a format that will probably be filled with shocklands and filterlands, although the fact that it doesn't produce red mana is kind of annoying. However, it doesn't come into play tapped, which is a point in its favor. If it doesn't work, I'll switch over to Teetering Peaks. Vexing Shusher is in my sideboard as a holdover from my legacy sideboard, but I'm unsure as to how useful it will be here. It could conceivably be something else in the future, perhaps graveyard hate, which I am kind of missing. And Burst Lightning...I like it, and it seems to work for me in standard, but we'll see. It could become something else in the future as well.
Just out of curiosity, what's the opinion on Shard Volley? It's a less powerful and 1 more mana version of Fireblast, but you only sacrifice one land, and it's modern legal whereas Fireblast unfortunately is not. If I ran it then I'd go Teetering Peaks over Tec Edge so there's not so much land sacrificing, but...I dunno. Wish there were some Modern tournaments around here.

The berserker's taking the marauder's slot. It's just personal preference though. Bloodthirst is not that hard to obtain on turn 2 with GG, FoD, rift bolt. Later on, staggershock helps casting the marauder as well.
So far it's fast and fun to play.
Has anyone tried shrine of burning rage in the build? It looks kinda slow but it's great as a finisher if landed early.
Concerning Koth, I think 4CC is too high, and denies playing shard volley (which seems good as an additionnal "1 Mana for 3 damages").
Here is my list. It is pretty sick. I won 3 matches all 2-0. Only one of them was against a known archetype gotta love ppl on MTG programs lol. Most of them couldn't build a deck if you told them which cards to put in it.

Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity.
I don't know if Koth is worth it in a format where Caw-Blade will undoubtedly run rampant.
as far as koth IMO it's not so much stoneblade as a reason not to play it but the fact that you are trying to race combo decks and koth is just plain too slow
what about a splash of black? like 3-4 blightning md and maybe bob's in the sb for the slower matchups. you could easily play 4 blood crypts and with fetches have 12 black sources md
I think that the main question for this deck is what is the best between Blightning and Flame Javelin in the 3cc slot. My opinion is that Blightning is better since post-board we have Dismember for Mistbind Clique, Batterskull, Rhox War Monk, Tarmogooyf etc...
But I guess it depend on the metagame.
this is what i was thinking, you could also add some more discard out of the board like thoughtsieze if your meta is very combo heavy
Arent we missing one of the best burn spells ever? Lighting Helix and creature fetchers Ranger of Eos
Which opens up several SB white avenues like PtE, Oring,
also a few unconventional cards i was considering?
Blood Knight, Spark elemental, vulshok Refuge, Ghostfire, Porcelin Legioneire
In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
its a bit slow, and really doesn't do enough. You have better ways of stopping your opponents from gaining life. 3cmc is what make it bad mostly.

How else do we battle lifegain? Leyline of Punishment looks to be our best bet since Sulfuric Vortex isn't in the format. I'm all ears for other options.
I don't think FotBh would be bad as a 2 of. It's a little too expensive for a 4 of though.

Thanks for those suggestions! I've been away from the game for a few years so I'm still catching up on a lot of the more obscure cards.
I think Everlasting Torment or Leyline of Punishment would be our best bets against lifegain. Too bad sulfuric vortex isn't legal in modern, it would fit better here than either of the other two.
Boggart Ram-Gang seems like a solid three drop for a modern RDW, especially 'cause it's tech against Kitchen Finks which would otherwise cause a lot of problems here. Also, Countryside Crusher is good at digging to that next burn spell if you're ever concerned about running a few too many lands. Just a thought.
THIS 100X!!! If you don't agree with this then there is no amount of logic that will ever convince you that good, non-oppressive, combos should be allowed. If you don't agree with it then just don't play this game, and you certainly shouldn't feel entitled to make any comment on ban lists ever.

if you add white you'e might aswell go all the way and just be boros and add SFM aand some equipment IMO
It's a fairly low mana curve, but seems to operate OK with Magma Jets in there to help with draws. This is my starting point that I will be working from, possibly adjusting creature counts in favor of more direct damage spells.

Greater Gargadon has piqued my interest. As has Giant Solifuge. He used to be so amazing. Thoughts?
Also, sideboard wise, I feel that 3 Blood Moon is a must along with Vexing Shusher.
Beyond that, I feel that Tormod's Crypt beats out Relic of Progenitus simply because Tormod's allows us to keep using mana to be aggressive.
So that leaves 6 slots in the SB if you go 3/3/3. I'm thinking Sulfurous Blast for the Faeries and maybe Everlasting Torment or Magma Spray or Smash to Smithereens or maybe just some all purpose land hate Molten Rain.
