I finished first in a GPT over the weekend, figured I would share this list. Felt pretty strong with the current meta, maybe would have put anguished unmaking in instead of disenchant and/or another slot.
Mainboard ghost quarter+Tec Edge helps vs tron. Running 8+ discard in the form of Thoughtseize and Duress helps. Surgical Extraction and Lost Legacy type effects are also nice. Castigate and Tidehollow Sculler can also perform. I might board out Bitterblossom. If it is going to be good it will be good, but if they land Ugin he is going to hose the tempo. Midnight haunting is really good here.
Basically if you can get into a situation with tron where you can blow up some lands or cause them to discard at least once per turn, then you have a decent chance. I would say you can get the match 50/50 game one if you basically build the deck to kill tron. You have to also play counter intuitively often, like forcing discards on turn 3 before casting your token spell turn 4 and such. The match will go to 2-1, so be prepared if they get you into a soft lock to concede to give yourself time.
Also, Auriok Champion is great versus Jund. If you can land a champion you can often just out grind them.
My only question is: how was khambal? thank you for your list!
I was really pleased with the outcome when bringing him in. Obviously Kambal is a auto-include against burn, and I was able to lock my opponent out playing Grixis Control
I really hate ghost quarter in this deck, it feels we are a 3 color deck due to spectral procession and ghost quarter just delays tron a turn. my even biggest issue in winning against tron is that we turn the deck upside down just to beat it 50% your ideas i feel they are correct and i may try them in a list despite in the long run i feel its not where i want to be in with this deck!

I think this is getting closer to what we are looking for in BW Tokens.
Oh yeah that thing is entirely moronic, wtf was WotC thinking. Any deck that can take advantage of it is getting a huge boost. I say we easily run 2-3 between main and side, probably cutting down on Spectrals for them to reduce the number of cards that can't be cheated off it.

To be honest this new board wipe seems entirely disadvantageous to our cause.
I think the card is broken and should be banned from modern when it comes out. It's gonna be like Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time was.
I don't see how this card is broken with the exception of some combos involving Ancestral Vision and a couple other cards.
First, we don't exactly like blowing up our own field unless the pros outweigh the cons. Things like Flaying Tendrils or Damnation either exile or get around decks with a large number of big creatures. This board wipe does neither .
Considering this deck is designed to go the long game, I just don't see how getting a slight tempo advantage makes this card worth 4-mana for a boardwipe that lacks any particular niche. It's not card advantage and it's not high utility.
For me its another sweeper we have to discard. Casting a liliana/goyf/threat in the same turn makes the difference, and a deck with ancestral vision will probably will have this card banned. Its a fixed cascade everyone, but its still a fixed version of a broken mechanic.
I disagree. Will have to see how the play testing pans out, but I see it on par with Hour of Reckoning against zoo and creature decks. Likewise, it would be a way to set up profitable attacks and still gain an advantage. Most of our spell suite is cmc 3 or less.
I am not saying this is the bees knees. What I am saying is that spells like this are more of what we want to make tokens better. Two for ones that allow us to recur multiple threats or cast multiple spells in a turn would vastly increase the speed of the deck.
Some decks ran Wrath mainboard two years ago. I could see a one of in certain metas.
The problem is you're paying 4-mana for a -3/-3 boardwipe. It's not a 2-for-1 because you're not gaining card advantage, you're gaining tempo. In a deck designed to grind the enemy little by little, this boost in tempo isn't going to be significant. It's too slow against Zoo and not something you can bring in against either Dredge or Eldrazi. It's best against Elves and Merfolk but again, 4-mana vs 3-mana is a pretty substantial difference against these fast aggro decks.
Even Hour of Reckoning is too slow for Modern standard but at least it has the benefit of destroying non-token creatures which is indeed powerful.
Hi guys! In the past I started building a BW token list but for some problems I dropped, but now I was thinking to come back on it to finish it!
How is the deck in the current meta? Is Bitterblossom a mandatory card right now? thanks!
Other people will probably have other opinions but in my opinion it's absolutely a mandatory 3 of at minimum, I wouldn't run less than 4 game 1 ever though.
I was a naysayer in the past, but i've seen the light. Run 4 bitterblossom + more lifegain effects.
The deck is fine. You have good matchups, and bad matchups, and you have space in the deck to fight the bad matchups (exception being tron). Its how the deck is built, it dictates what matchups you'll have a nicer time.

A lot of us know this but just a reminder you cannot cast a Spectral Procession with this new sweeper since the CMC is actually 6. Also don't let anyone Inquisition it out of your hand either! I'm actually thinking this will excel in Grixis control where you can get a free Ancestral Vision off of it.
Unless you're playing a ton of BGx and Uxx control decks, you don't need 4 Bitterblossom. Drawing a 2nd copy is usually a hindrance and the probability of grabbing 1 BB from 3 vs 4 copies is almost equivalent. I prefer to play 3. The other space you can save up for Selfless Spirit or Raise the Alarm. The spirit turns on spot removal but it saves space from the sideboard.
Update on Elspeth Tirel: not good. There were way too many situations where Sorin or Gideon were just as good. In fact, they were often far better as they came down a turn or 2 earlier and helped stabilize you. I just lost a game because she was too slow and didn't stabilize my life total enough. If by some miracle Deathrite Shaman gets unbanned, access to mana ramp can make her a contender again but right now it's not.
Liliana of the Veil is great as ever. Can't play the deck without at least 2 copies.
