I like to play 3 Vizier. But after playing both versions I like more the traditional Knightfall, but both versions are very good, but miss a lot the value of the normal Knightfall instead the Vizier. Also the flood and dead cards in the Vizier is more common.
Also my metagame have a lot of Blood Moons around, it's better play the version with 7 basics or the matchup still fine with less basics and the splash to the kessig?
I think it really depends on what kind of Blood Moon deck it is. I play tested a lot vs. Madcap Moon and the matchup was very good. I do have 2 mainboard Qasali Pridemage though, so that helped a bunch. There's nothing like an opponent doing Blood Moon and you Collected Company into a Qasali Pridemage and blow it up immediately (or only if/when you need to).

Hey guys! Just picked the deck back up again not too long ago, and had a question: I have three Kitchen Finks in my board, is that good enough in a burn heavy meta? I also have one Courser of Kruphix in the main and my counter spell package looks like 2 Unified Will, and one Worship as well.

If u want to beat Burn, play Rhox War Monk, and also is decent vs midrange or URx control, and sometimes feel better than kitchen finks because don't die against Anger of the Gods. I'm playin it and like a lot.
I like it. I'd assume that you'd want 2-3 in your SB?

This is me, just posting my results here in case anyone wants to discuss it or ask any questions. Only missed top 8 to tiebreakers. Ended the event at 5-1-1, with the draw being a game I would've won had I noticed my opponent cast a card they didn't have the mana for early enough to rewind, would've won game 3 had we not gone to time. Oh well.
Look at the card. Now back to Jace. Now back to that card, now back to Jace! Sadly, it isn't Jace, but if it stopped being a junk rare and became relevant, it could act like it's Jace. Crack some Worldwake. What do you have? You have a Jace, the card you wish this card could be like. Look again. THE CARD IS NOW A $75 BILL. Anything possible when you play Magic with Jace and not junk rares. This is probably spam.

I like it. Solid list for Vizier Knightfall. This sort of tempts me to try out Vizier Knightfall, as I've been somewhat tempted by both Vizier Knightfall and Humans w/ Knight. I actually played GW all-in Vizier/Druid Combo and was 11-1 for 3 weeks (well, 10-1-1 ID, but played it out to 2-0).

The 22nd place in the challenge was me. Altho I'm very surprised to hear it called stock. I can do a brief recap if people are interested and would be happy to talk about deck choices.

Like a lot the list, but here some questions:
- Is the retreat combo necessary? I feel like Knight still fine without combo and It's better play more creatures instead the retreat
- 0 tireless tracker? I just love this card and I'm curious why you don't make room for it
-4 Vizier is not so much? I feel like without Kitchen Finks we only want it with the devote, and with all the tutors in the deck 2-3 will probably fine
Probably will give the deck another shot, just played it one time and manage to 3-1 playing vs 4 blood moon/ anger of the gods decks (How I suppose that are bad pairings), but the deck was good. The combo of the vizier is insane.
-As far as the retreats go, I did get 2 free wins in the classic where I would've otherwise had to play actual magic, so they're worth it to me.
-Tireless tracker is an insane magic card, and I play him in bg rock, but I also have 23 lands in there. I'm debating on dropping one of the viziers for a tracker though.
-I wanted to maximize my chance of getting the combo g1, so I went all in on the vizier.
gonna be trying out 2 magus of the moon in my sb though I think too locally, see how that goes.

Hey congrats man!!! I'm keeping the fire roaring on Vizier Nightfall too. How good were Nissa and Dusk/Dawn for you? Btw, I'm wondering if you encountered burn at all. That matchup is making me consider the cards ppl have been talking about recently in here for my board, but I'm not sure. Was 2 reflector Mage enough?

Makes sense, will try something like your list. Also like the change of -1 Vizier +1 Tracker. I really like the deck, and it has better combo matchup than regular Knightfall but a little worse midrange matchup, but this matchup still fine, the deck can grind pretty well.
About Burn with Burrenton and something like 1-2 Rhox War Monk to tutor up the matchup can be good.
ah, yeah I was actually thinking about adding in a war monk to the sb while I was thinking about the matchup at work today. I'll probably give it a go tonight if I can find one in my box.

Nissa is actually just insane, wish I could justify running her in the mb. Dusk was an experiment, and the first half ended up being pretty good in the eldrazi MU. the second half would've been good too, except my opponent brought in like 4 relics so my gy was toast. Might end up swapping it for the rhox war monk tonight.

Round 1 vs. Merfolk. I do turn Breeding Pool into Noble Hierarch, trying to fake Infect. He does turn 1 Aether Vial. I do turn 2 Qasali Pridemage, blow up Aether Vial. He gets stuck on 2 land for 2 turns and I spit out many creatures in the meantime. I win with 2 Collected Company still in hand. Pure gas for me. He made a mistake of not attacking twice with unblockable since I had Breeding Pool. After the first attack was missed, I calculated that I would have been at 1 if he attacked correctly after that. I could have been wrong in that calculation. I get a bit Knight of the Reliquary and Tireless Tracker. I did a Reflector Mage on a Master of the Pearl Trident. A turn later, he had Lord of Atlantis and 2 Cursecatcher in play with a Vial. He goes to Vial in the Master presumably. I go for Path to Exile on his Lord of Atlantis. He does Echoing Truth on it, then I flash in Izzet Staticaster to machine gun the Cursecatchers. It's pretty easy after that. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. Affinity. In game, 1, I try to stabilize and have the win next turn after topdecking 2 Path to Exile in a row (Courser of Kruphix is showing both). But he draws Arcbound Ravager and I only have 1 more Path to Exile for 3 flying creatures that are unblocked. Then in the next game, I just get too much gas while he stumbles against my Reflector Mage and Paths. In the last game, he got stuck on 2 Wear/Tear in hand. 2-1.
Round 3 vs. Soul Sisters. He mulls to 6. I mull to 5. He plays Martyr of Sands, then Squadron Hawks. I Path to Exile the Martyr, but he has Honor of the Pure, Spectral Procession after triple Soul's Wardens. He just gains too much life and the 3 Collected Company that I tried to hit Spell Queller to exile a key spell ended up hitting Tireless Tracker, Scooze, Voice of Resurgence, Selfless Spirit, and another Scooze. Booo! In the next game, he has the same hand, but I have double Knight of the Reliquary. I think I attacked him for around 100 damage this game. The last game is interesting. I keep a 4 land hand with Tireless Tracker. I draw...a million lands. I ended up drawing 6 extra cards, finding a Spell Queller and Vendilion Clique to chump a 6/6 Serra's Ascendant, but I cannot find Reflector Mage or Path to Exile. This was really rough beats. I ended up with a late game Negate, but it's certainly not enough. 1-2.
Round 4 vs. Burn. In the first game, I get a Knight killed, but have a late game double Spell Queller turn after he drew 3 midgame creatures. I survive at 5 life. The next game in similar, but with 3 cards in hand and me at 10 life, he does EoT Bolt/Bolt, then untap draw Bolt/Boros Charm. I was not 1 turn away from winning, but 2 turns, so I can't be that salty. In the final game, I keep a hand with 3 shocklands. I make a key mistake, playing Breeding Pool tapped instead of Temple Garden. I draw Path to Exile off the top and I lose a few turns later to Boros Charm, untap draw, Boros Charm. It was exact lethal, although he did have 1 more card in hand so it could have been burn anyway. I would have saved 2 life if I played Temple Garden tapped on turn 1 instead of Breeding Pool, then I wouldn't have had to shock the Temple Garden. Rough play from me. I probably should have mulliganed a hand with 3 shocks and 4 three mana creatures anyway. Kind of hoping to draw some lands that don't do damage to me or some 2 drops, but that's too much to ask for. You guys can tell me what a horrible keep it was vs. Burn. 1-2.
2-2. I was a bit on tilt, but I'm not sure exactly what I could have done better.
*I should state something as well. Today was one of the few times I've won 2-1 only. I've been winning a lot of 2-0s, but losing 1-2s. I'm wondering if that's some sort of play deficiency that I have currently. I know my siding hasn't been the best and I've failed to keep the drive to play well unfortunately (Modern has gotten stale recently), but I was wondering if anyone has had this sort of situation and what it could possibly mean. It could just be how the roulette is falling right now as well. I'm not saying it 100% says something about my play.

I don’t think there’s much to extract from your win/loss rates. There’s so many facets to winning and losing that trying to discern anything regarding the “tightness” of your play or your thought process during sideboarding is a fools errand. You should concern yourself with how much your losing and why.
In regards to what you could have done to do better, it’s hard to figure out because you don’t have replays to see what you should have done. Magic has a lot of its successful results predicated on a big chunk of luck and it’s also the same with losing. You could have been dealt poor hands and matchups but always remember there’s something YOU could have done better.

This rings 100% true. I read a bit too much into it - assuming that when things are going well, it's easy for me to finish the match off, but when things get tougher and more grindy, it's tough for me to maintain my concentration. Admittedly, there have been a few games recently (last week vs. Grixis Control for example) where I was pretty sure that I could have won if I had really grinded it out and made every good decision, but I chose to just pack it in instead. I feel like I'm losing some of my fire for Modern, especially since I can't play the matchups that I'm used to playing (although I should be glad that I'm dodging Titanshift, lol). Hopefully, getting 2-2 will instill some motivation to play better next week. I do realize that there is not a big difference between 2-2, 3-1, and even better records at the FNM level. I realize that I've played better at 3-2 (with Bloom Titan) than I have at 5-0 (Jund). I think I have gotten away from that recently (trying to just be happy with my play, not the record) because there have been a lot more mistakes, including mulligan decisions, than in the past. I guess I just need to tighten up.
I guess you didn't address the 4 land, 3 3 drop hand vs. Burn because it's obvious that it's not a keep?
*It's just that, you know, win/loss rates are a nice way to make your ***** look big.

Hey guys- I'm doing the classic this weekend in DC (Dulles, not really DC but whatever) with vizier knightfall. Can you guys take a look at my list and tell me what you think? I'm trying a weird approach with spell queller side to go more into knightfall mode if that seems better, but if you guys think thats dumb let me know. I've considered doing the bant druid lists without knight, but I can't quit her....
My current iteration of classic Bant Knightfall. The [[Vendilion Clique]] in the main has been very good for me and has made me wonder if whether or not to play another copy in the board. [[Meddling Mage]] has also been a very good answer in the board instead of the usual 2x [[Negate]] before. Just wondering if there are some thoughts on the deck moving forward and thank you for your time!

I am also thinking about adding 1 Clique to my mainboard. But don`t you feel an Island would make it way easier to cast her, since UU is not always easy to pay?

This is the main reason that I don't actually enjoy my 1 SB copy as much as I should.

Hello guys, this season, I'm going to play a rptq (rivals of ixalan-Modern), I've played a few times modern and I've always used Counters Company (Abzan), but I do not think it's the best deck for the rptq environment so I'll be opting for Bant . There are so many lists that I get lost. Can someone tell me a way? I think some reflector mages and Spell Queller would come in handy.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)In regards to what you could have done to do better, it’s hard to figure out because you don’t have replays to see what you should have done.

This is the main reason that I don't actually enjoy my 1 SB copy as much as I should.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Hello guys, this season, I'm going to play a rptq (rivals of ixalan-Modern), I've played a few times modern and I've always used Counters Company (Abzan), but I do not think it's the best deck for the rptq environment so I'll be opting for Bant . There are so many lists that I get lost. Can someone tell me a way? I think some reflector mages and Spell Queller would come in handy.
