My primary point in posting the above shell is to ask this question: Is the ability to go faster more beneficial than the ability to outlast decks in this meta?
Even a more aggressive shell (no mainboard 4 drops) can still outlast affinity and infect. However the primary reason to "speed up" is to beat the decks that uwr cannot outlast: tron and eldrazi (and 50/50 with gbx)
I ultimately think UWr can function as either an aggressive or a midrange/grindy deck just fine. However, I don't think Stormchaser Mage and Geist belong in the same deck, at least as playsets.

I played 25 lands originally but I was constantly flooding, also I choose 3 copies of geist to avoid 2 geist opening hands. The 3 spreading seas is a meta call since I play a lot vs junk and tron. Any recommendation? also what could a good sideboard be? I'm thinking:
First off, sometimes you just need a sweeper in the deck. It isn't wrong to run one. Casting Anger and saving Geist with Castle is definitely a thing. However, I think it should be Anger of the Gods, and it should be in the board alongside a Verdict.
Also, I think 4 Geists is best, just because they can function as removal if you need to use them that way, and two-Geist openings are rare, and not even that bad. If they have a way to handle the first one, you have a backup, and if they don't, they'll probably die to it.

I guess I need to play the deck for a while to get a feel, I've never played geist so there's that.
2 geists in hand is never a bad thing. It provides redundancy versus pyroclasm or inquisition of kozilek or liliana edicts. Additionally with one in hand you can swing one into a trade on the ground while hitting them for 4, and then drop another geist.
Multiple geists make opponents sigh multiple times.
Recently I had my PtE IoK'd and I had a Geist on board. The IoK was followed up by a Tasigur. I drew two more geist's over the next few turns and I proceeded to 'boros charm' my opponent in the air. This was followed up two bolts to finish him off - multiple geists are fine as many have said..
Shizo, Death's Storehouse is some weird tech I've developed to stop it dying from a Snapcaster getting blinked in.
We have Eiganjo Catle and Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep ourselves. Not saying that you're wrong, just making sure to point it out.
Eiganjo is auto-include if only because it puts it out of Pyroclasm range.
Shinka could be interesting, it does stop Snapcaster blinks and trading with a handful of other cards like Bob. I think Clique might get more benefit out of it due to the higher power and lower toughness which means it dies to a single Soul.
Fear tends to be a pretty strong keyword because it gets around Goyf and a large number of other things including Resto Angels and basically any of the manlands that actually see play. I wouldn't splash Black for it though, it's really tech for another deck.
Edit - on another topic, double Geist is never bad. You just swing with it, let them block it, the Angel will burn them and drop another one in the second main.
I've been delving into meta reports left and right post the twin bannings to find out how best to attack this new meta. But this new meta, if anything looks to reward the UWR colors. Eldrazi and Tron got a huge boost in potency with their number one threat dissolved. Initially I thought this meant doom for Jeskai. However, early indications are the opposite. To beat Eldrazi and Tron, decks are getting faster then they were before. Decks no longer have fear of tapping out turn 3 and instead are pushing more threats out then before. Infect, Merfolk, Affinity, Delver, and Zoo are on the rise. These are decks that die to lots of removal. 4x bolt, 4x helix, 4x path, x electrolyze, x board wipes, etc is the answer in this open meta as it stops all of the fast decks. Remand, mana leak, and spell pierce hurt decks that go larger than we do. So that means turn 3 geist (which usually is the best possible play for us) is now more possible then ever before.
I was looking at building a list that sped UWR up. Instead of building it as control, building it as burn/aggro with control elements. This meant adding boros charm which is fantastic at finishing off opponents or protecting geist from pyroclasm. Either way (protecting geist or 4 to the face) it deals 4 or more damage the following turn. Boros charm, snap, boros charm is 8 damage to the face. The fact that it kills Liliana after a +1 is gravy.
The problem I have found with boros charm is that it does not impact the board. It does not interact with the early aggression creatures in the least. It does not kill wild nacatl or a merfolk lord or an ornithopter. But it is very good against tron and eldrazi because it can help finish games quickly. Stormchaser Mage would be the best card alongside boros charm. But again, I'm not sure that it fits. I'm not sure it's good enough. I'm in love with the idea of a deck that can out control affinity and infect and out burn eldrazi and tron. That's why I like jeskai. But finding that balance has been difficult so far. That said, Slip Through Space has been a pet idea with a geist of saint traft and prowess deck.
Card ideas:
This is the base of an idea that I have not quite full fleshed out yet. I intend to be faster than Tron/Eldrazi (since controlling them only works so far), and have enough removal to stop aggro.
Thoughts?

This is the list I'm planning on playing at GP Detroit. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
I had been playing a list similar to this one by Kyle Boggemes awhile back. I liked playing the deck but found myself moving over to UWR Twin for a little bit before the recent ban of Splinter Twin. Modern is just too fast to sit back and attempt to one-for-one your opponent to take the game long. Remand and Serum Visions have been so good and I like them in this build. I'm not sure if the numbers are correct; maybe the deck needs some number of Mana Leak, although it becomes dead fairly quickly when playing so many copies of Path to Exile.
