I just changed my UWR control to UWR midrange, what do you guys think? Don't really want to use Geist cause it's too expensive, out of stock in my local shop and I find Blade Splicer better with restoration angel. Needs some help with my sideboard too against unknown meta.
This is more like UWR Flash, check out Shahar Shenhar's UWR Flash deck from 2013 World Championship. All I know is that geist is kinda the reason to play UWR so i don't know how much I could help you with advice. As far as your sideboard goes, I would cut back on a wrath, take out sowing salts (unless you have lots of torn in your meta), I would take out at least 1 rending volley (unless you have lots of U/W of course) take out deflecting palm, put in a few more counter spells (negate dispel counter flux etc), put in 2 Kor Firewalkers, add a spellskite maybe, aaaand that's for starters i suppose.
@Shiwei87tan: Actually looks like a Kiki combo control build more than anything. They tend to run Omens and lots of Resto. Not sure if this is considered midrange or control, but I'd likely add a couple Kiki mainboard. Likely cut the Blade Splicers to make room as they are fairly week. Given we have a lot of topend, Batterskull should probably just be in the sideboard. The couple extra slots could be further counters like Spell Snare.

Your spell suite is almost identical to mine. Any reason in particular running 3 Celestial Colonnade instead of 4?
Because for straight UWR, 3 Colonnade 1 Faerie Conclave allows for more flexibility, and aggro. The 3/1 split lets me attack in racing situations, or where I don't have any reactive spells etc, when I don't quite have 6 lands. It has proven to be more useful to have the Conclave than have 4 Colonnades, because usually when Colonnade is becoming useful, the game has gone long enough where you have already drawn at least 2.
For UWRb, its basically just because I needed another black source.
Okay spent some more time thinking about the black splash and a sideboard for it. I truly believe the black splash helps us tremendously, at not a huge cost. 2 SB cards, and 2 Main Board Cards (one of which only needs bleach for flashback). This deck looks to me like it just will steam roll almost any matchup. I'm excited to play this.
I Really REALLY like this list. Please give feedback. I'm going to try and get the cards together to start testing it. I think this is what the deck needed to put it at tier one, I don't think it has bad match ups.
@Khainn: Here's a recent 4-0 from a Modern Daily that splashes black with Tasigur (there was only two decklists I could find and the other one looks pretty bad IMHO). Fairly similar to your build.
Is it worth having Leyline of Sanctity in the sideboard? I pulled 2 from the new Modern Masters set.
Burn is really all we would want that against, but that matchup is fine. Kor Firewalker/Timely Reinforcements can both be used in other matchups where Leyline is basically for just Storm and Burn.
Would it be better to leave Batterskull at home? With the rise of Jund and Grixis Delver, you'll be seeing Kolaghan's Command more often. That means tapping out on turn 5 for Batterskull could set you up for a 2-for-1.

Yes, sadly. Might be time for Keranos in the main.

You would go to Keranos before, say another Thundermaw or Stormbreath Dragon? Also, is Asseble the Legion worth consideration? It is almost certain to win any long grindy matchup if left unattended.
I think the card advantage from Keranos makes it much more valuable than Assemble the Legion. Assemble can be held off with removal until they draw enchantment hate but Keranos will be netting your cards along the way and doesn't die to Wear // Tear.
Might suck if they just kill Meddling Mage immediately but if you name their removal spell it could be a nice tempo play. Resto can also flicker it to something more relevant in the late game. Against Junk, you can name Lili and they have to spend a turn killing the mage instead of getting Lili out. Worth testing out or most likely useless?

If they have enough removal to deal with 1 1/1, then 2 1/1s, then 3 1/1s, then that is card advantage, and Assemble the Legion provides blockers for Tarmgoyfs and Tasigurs that are killing us. Keranos does not.

Decks that you want to bring Legion in against typically run a few copies of Maelstrom Pulse.

I agree on this deck looking really sweet , definetely gonna experiment with it. Some other options black gives us for sideboard are Blood Baron of Vizkopa (pretty good against Abzan , though the meta has shifted a bit from that) , Darkblast and Olivia Voldaren (awesome against small creature decks like the CoCo combos running around and even delver). Also we could swap Wear // Tear for Hide // Seek , depending on wheter we prefer having Seek against Tron to the Fuse potential of Wear/Tear , or maybe cutting the affinity-only hate and playing like 2 of each as a way to have more game on the Tron matchup and not lose too much vs. affinity.

Mainboard: I'd be looking at doing is finding room for a couple Electrolyze. Like the build above, likely cut an Angel and a Helix to make room.
