I don't know if everyone's seen it, but there's a "leaked" ban list going around (I know, not official, but raises questions) and DTT is on it. I've been wondering what would be good options to replace Dig Through Time, and I'm considering Chandra, Pyromaster, Cryptic Command, more threats or just getting the full playset of Electrolyzes/Paths/Remands (currently running 3 of each). What do you guys think?
do you have a link for that, it would be strange when ddt is on the list but tc dont
TC is also on the list, I just mentioned DTT because it's the one I run.
thank you. More interesting is the pod ban. It would solve many problems for my zoo and uwr deck but I dont know what to think about this post dont believe in a pod ban. But its interesting, if those cards will be banned, uwr will be stronger because delver will lose alot of power and maybe swift more into a counter deck like before ktk. Yeah and getting rid of pod would be fine for me as an uwr player^^
Do you knwo how trustful this site is? the sentence "Fecha en la que es efectivo el cambio: 07 de enero de 2015" says something like the cards are banned from 01.07.2015 on dont believe in bans before the new edition^^
Yeah, like I said it's not official, but I want to consider my options. Pod being on that list makes me surprised. The deck has been rising, but I don't think it's so broken a ban is in order.
And that sentence means that the changes will be effective as of 07/jan, but the point of my point was just to consider the options to replace DTT, not to discuss the reliability of that list
I'd like to hear everybody's thoughts on that. I'm still kind of lost, giving that I just recently started playing this deck and I'm not sure what the best options would be.
That link has been floating around for a little while now.
That being said, don't believe a word that site says; Dec 27/28th is Spain's "April Fool's Day", so you can likely take the article with a grain of salt.
I didn't know about that, but regardless of the article, I wish to consider my options for replacing DTT just in case. If it doesn't get banned, cool. But if it does, I will be prepared already.
I don't mean a card that does the same thing DTT does, just what could take its slot in the deck. I mentioned some options on my first post. Just trying to decide what would be the ideal replacement for it, not looking for a card that does exactly the same
I thought about Chandra, Pyromaster, Cryptic Command, Sphinx's Revelation, more creatures like Aven Mindcensor, Brimaz, King of Oreskos, Vendilion Clique, and for my list, maybe going the full playset for Path/Remand/Electrolyze, as I only run 3 of each.
Just for reference, this is what I'm running at the moment (I have a few budget restrictions, that's the reason behind some odd choices)
If that list is true, i'ld be a bit worried with the return of bbe... Jund would be back in almost full strength(only missing drs)
In my opinion, DRS is exactly what would make Jund broken again (along with BBE, maybe). I think it's just going to be a strong and viable deck again, but not as unfair as it used to be.
My list is similar to yours, though I run 4 Geist, 4 Snap, 2 Resto Angel, 2 Brimaz, and 2 Lightning Angel.
In my experience, Boros Charm has done a great job saving Geist, hitting for 4, or giving the angel double strike when it needs to. I run in with DTT currently, but since you're looking for options, perhaps give it a try?
Also, how are you liking Mantis Rider? I'm playing Lightning Angel instead of MR because it's out of bolt range, but I'm wondering if dropping it a turn earlier would be helpful.

I'm still not sure what to do if DTT gets banned, but I'll test the Charm regardless, thanks for the tip.
I used to run Lightning Angel before I got my Restoration Angels, and it was really, really good, but I hated the fact that most of the time I had to tap out in order to cast it. I now run Mantis Rider because I want an effective and relatively cheap threat that is good where geist is bad, and because I have the Restos on the 4 cmc slot. Costing only 3 makes it easier to protect with counterspells/charm, and because people are never expecting it, they rarely hold a bolt as removal against a Geist deck.
I also tested Brimaz for a while in a different version (before Restos and Colonnades), and even though he resists one bolt, he's still bad where Geist is bad (against big Goyfs, clogged field, etc). I stopped playing him because I had to sell him in order to get the other cards (like I said, budget is an issue for me) and because he was really underperforming for me, but I might test him on Mantis' slots again soon.

It is a leaked banlist that it said was published in late December on Wizards's site. That obviously was not the case. It isn't real.
Also, have you guys seen the new cards from Fate Reforged (Soulfire Grand Master and Monastery Mentor)? I think that they deserve at least some looking at, though I doubt that either one of them is good enough.

Yeah, I see potential in both of them, but I'm still not sure. I think it's easier for Monastery Mentor to see play, since it might be able to protect itself, if you hold mana up, and it's bigger of a threat. It has pretty much the same weaknesses of Young Pyromancer though, and might be best in a more proactive deck or even a deck filled with phyrexian spells.
Soulfire Grand Master is a card that can shine if it sticks, even on the lategame, since it tranforms a simple topdecked bolt into a recurring burn/lifegain spell. The downside (other than how easy it is to kill it) is that in the matchup it's on its best, it's hard to keep it on the table, and Kor Firewalker or even Timely Reinforcements might still be best.
Both of them are really good, but fragile. It's going to take some testing.

We won't know for sure until Wizards officially announce the banlist, but I too believe it's fake (even though it doesn't seem farfetch'd at all). I didn't go into details and didn't even post the link because the validity of the list wasn't what I wanted to discuss, I just wanted to ponder about possible replacements for Dig Through Time.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still playing with those slots. Have you tried Ajani Vengeant, Keranos, or Batterskull main deck? Brimaz has been testing well, though he can't really stop a goyf. I'm interested in switching the angel for Mantis rider too.

I think those 3 cards fit in a more controlish build with a higher curve. If I'm going to use more 4 cmc spells, the first one I'll be testing will be Chandra, Pyromaster, and then Ajani Vengeant (I don't really think he fits in a midrange deck, he's home in a control or stax kind of deck). Keranos is great in grindy matchups where the game can go long, and I would try Batterskull if I find myself playing against a lot of aggro decks (never played it, not sure if it's the right call, if it would be good in different metas too). The reason I haven't tested any yet is my budget I only play online, so I can't run proxies haha
a bunch of 8rack players are showing up in my area. i feel like G1 is unwinnable. I didnt have Leylines in my sideboard either. i feel like even if i did have them but i didnt get it in my opening hand i would still have trouble getting to cast it anyways. what do you do in this matchup?
