I have more U/W sources to activate Gate with than I do U/R for Bluffs.
The white that Gate produces is pretty minimal, and could easily be replaced with Bluffs. Producing RR wouldn't always be awful either, especially since I play Thundermaw and Stormbreath.
But, I only have (not including fetches) 6 red sources, 9 White, and 13 Blue.
Simple answer is that 9+13 is a bigger number than 6+13, giving me an easier way to produce UU off it, which is the cards main function IMO.
edit: I forgot to mention SB cards. Mystic Gate helps with Counterflux, Threads of Disloyalty, and Wrath of God.
A Vendilion Clique, Snapcaster Mage, or Thundermaw Hellkite in that you can bounce them to trigger their ETB effect so that there is a lot of flexibility there! It can buy you an additional turn against so many decks by getting that flexibility. It's fantastic. 1-2of in any list hands down and for the foreseeable future it'll stay that way. I love it (:
Edit: Bouncing Thundermaw Hellkite is a way to buy an additional turn or more against twin that can't be redirected. I love it.

Honestly the last time I played her she was lackluster. Sure, I wasn't playing any Geists and I'm well aware of that interaction from Standard, but still... I ended up boarding them out a lot of the time. I played either opposing blue decks or Burn, and in most cases I just didn't want a 3/4 for 4. Almost every time I tried to blink a Snap or Clique they would die in response. But I can definitely go back and try again.
It adds more flexibility to the deck is what I'm getting at.
And no, it's not a 'win-more' scenario to tap all their Restoration Angels down to attack for lethal the next turn and win the game OR delay to digging to a Cryptic/Snapcaster OR a various of other scenarios.

Looking into this deck so I can play an actually good deck in modern. Any suggestions on how to play the deck or build it?
UWR comes in several flavors, but the core is pretty much the same throughout all the lists. I would put together a typical list (good place to start is the list that won GP Prague) and practice with that to get a feel for the deck. From there, tweak it how you like.
Hahaha, yea Geist is in deep right now. I mean, Lingering Souls was one of the worst things this deck could run into, and now we gotta deal with Bitterblossom? At least with Souls, you could electrolyze, clear one instance of it and cantrip to replace electrolyze, and maybe remand the second half of Souls. But now, every, freakin, turn, 1/1 flyer. Electrolyze won't be near efficient enough. Geist is never getting through.
Personally leaning towards Anger or Firespout... Listed the others mostly for fun, but I'm not sure if the double red would be annoying to get early. Obviously the exiling is nice.
To clarify I mean UW is more viable than it was. The old wall of omens/splicer/angel lists no longer absolutely have to kill DRS t1. They also can leak the t3 lil always.
Maxing helices seems the way to go now, zoo hates lightning helix. Sideing purges?? Running more snare, hits bob/goyf/BB?
Well, maxing out on Electrolyze seems like a pretty good possibility, and back to 2x, maybe 3x Celestial Purges in the side lol
edit: the more I think about it, the more I think that Geist just needs to come out of the deck now. How does he ever get to swing past anything now? If Naya come back (it will) how do we swing past Wild Nacatl, Knight of the Reliquary, Loxodon Smiter, Scooze, Goyf etc. How does Geist get around Bitterblossom? Especially Game1... I don't think it can be done... might be time to switch back to UWR Control ;_;
Geist will never be able to swing in the actual metagame. he's gonna get out of my MB (maybe can be good for SB in Mirror matches) in favor of the 4th electrolyze and maybe a couple of restoration angels since the 4 body seems to be good against faeries and naya.
ajani can stay, i think.
Yeah I'm with you on that.
I'm thinking that I might head towards Shaheens UWR Control list... just not feeling Geist anymore. Of course I'll give it a few weeks to settle down... but I'm not optimistic.

Grixis Death's Shadow, Jund, UW Tron, Jeskai Control, Storm, Counters Company, Eldrazi Tron, Affinity, Living End, Infect, Merfolk, Dredge, Ad Nauseam, Amulet, Bogles, Eldrazi Tron, Mono U Tron, Lantern, Mardu Pyromancer
Isn't this just a win more scenario?
Before damage just flash in Resto, targeting Thundermaw and kill all their Pestermites.
It's not a win-more, but a don't-lose-the-game.
Granted it's incredibly narrow, but it still works!

Naya is rougher than faeries. Electrolyze is very strong vs Fae. Naya feels like a 50/50 to me.

Bolt used to hit Deathrite, now it hits Wild Nacatl (again).
It's the circle of life, and it moves us all.
I'm considering mainboarding some kind of enchantment removal, maybe Wispmare or War priest of Thune

That's true, completely blanked on nacatl
