I noticed that it's been a few months since anyone mentioned Smuggler's Copter. I've recently added 3 in my monowhite build, and it's been great. It actually provides a clock, and the looting effect has been great, too. It survives sorcery speed removal, gives other creatures psuedo-flying and haste (and makes them 3/3's, in a sense). They've been very good with Squadron Hawks, giving lots of cards to loot to dig.
Those are better suited in a tempo deck rather than a grindy control-midrange one.
The 3-drops that I prefer here (in U/W) are: Flickerwisp, Court Hussar and Kitchen Finks.
You can do it but I don't think that a 3-card combo without tutors is something worth playing, Saffi is good enough in the deck anyway so it plays well without a combo.
IMHO G/W build make this deck to ramp deck style which is bad against faster ramp like Tron and other combo deck say purestell storm or abzan coco
what do you thought ?

#"Tron" is all about Ghost Quarter and Beast Within (should be in the MD imho) and SB cards as game 1 is very unfavoured.
#I've haven't played much against "Cheere0s" but I guess it is about having an early Path for their engine and slowing them down while trying to remove their creatures.
"Abzan CoCo" is probably about finding a Wrath or having a Path to fizzle their combo, should be a rather even matchup imho.

in the MTG-Goldfish lists that you linked, why didn't they run beast within?
Probably because you can't get it back with Sun Titan (Eternal Witness can still get it) like Oblivion Ring/Banishing Light, but I still think it is the better card because of the instan speed, land destruction option and not giving back the destroyed permanent.
The beast token is easily "walled of" by Wall of Omens or "killed" by Flickerwisp.

Hi thnkr! Can I see this Squadron/Copter list? I want a list to build online and this sounds like fun!
Hi Guys - Glad to see that W/G is getting some consideration now. I read the first five pages of the forum and people seemed to hate on it a lot a few months ago. I think Renegade Rallier is what makes the green really solid, but I really want to squeeze in a couple Beast Withins too. Someone earlier said that green is to make it a ramp deck, and I disagree completely. This deck has no mana dorks, and Sakura-Tribe Elder is just a much-better version of Pilgrim's Eye... that doesn't make it a ramp deck. It just makes it even more of a value deck than it was before. s
I know the guy who top 8'd an IQ with that list you linked above - I'll ask him if he's considered Beast Within when I see him again - it seems good. The deck has evolved a bit since that tournament... He switched the Mortarpods for Blasting Stations and a few other changes.
@gabriel_404, Hi Sure, the list is below. I should mention that I went with a kind of budget list, but it's still been really fun to pilot. I was blown away by how well the Copter worked out.
I'm still short on a sideboard card, not sure of what to put in there. I also know it might seem weird to run Kataki in a deck that runs eight artifacts main, but it seems like it should work out. I haven't had a chance to test the sideboard much, just got cards that I figured might work well
EDIT: Also, is there any way that the title for the thread can be changed? Searching for "Azorius" doesn't work, since it's spelled wrong
That's a good idea on Nevermore I'll have to try to pick some up. For Mistveil Plains, yeah, they've worked out for me. Altogether I have 6 etbt lands total, out of 23, so I rarely have a problem there. I usually just play my etbt lands on my first turn if I've drawn any, since I have no turn 1 play otherwise. But I typically use them with Squadron Hawk to have a constant set of blockers, or constant set of cards to loot with Copter.

I've been dicking around with a mono white list online atm before bothering to pickup a set of flagstones, but so far I've liked them quite a bit. Lowers your total plains count 'technically', but in the late game you usually get a second or third which allows you to fetch to hit your plains count, or better yet is the ability to Ghost Quarter your own Flagstones of Trokair to pull 2 plains at the end of your opponents turn to instantly turn on Emeria against an opponent who isn't paying attention.
Running 4 Flagstones of Trokair and 1 Mistveil Plains makes it very likely to see a Mistveil nearly every game, vs once every couple of games, while lowering the etbt count by 1.
That said, a comment on the mono white list. I love the interactions between Mistveil Plains + Squadron Hawk + Smuggler's Copter as an engine to push through damage. But boy do I wish Wall of Omens had 1 attack. So many opening hands that are on the fence would be snap keeps id wall could power a copter.

I really like his list although I took out a Banishing Light and already made the switch to Blasting Station. What were his other changes?
it might be wrong to favor beast within over oblivion ring enchantments, but I prefer that slot be able to kill land targets in addition to the usual threats, particularly mand-lands. I'm already running 3 eternal witness so spells like that play well into my list.

isn't their a sacrifice outlet somewhere in those lists to allow saffi eriksdotter and renagade rallier to infinitely loop a combo?
maybe blasting station

I really like the idea of playing titan, getting one of the three dudes and using the evasion + lifelink as a finisher.

with beast within replacing say, the 3 banishing light, that gives you more land destruction game 1 against tron. counting the ghost quarter in the main.

Might consider running Flagstones of Trokair and drop down to 1 Mistveil Plains.

[[hope of ghirapur]] - is this a soft lock for spell based combo and Tron?
[[implement of improvement]] - small incremental advantages used when we otherwise wouldn't be spending mana.
Neither are etb effects, so do not synergize with flickerwisp, but still benefit from emeria and sun titan. Thoughts?
