I subscribed to Manatraders and got back into MTGO to get more reps with the deck
I made some changes for budget reasons (No T3feri, no Prismatic Vista)
Currently 5-3 after playing 1.5 leagues, wanted to share some of my thoughts:
First league
[LOSS] UW Terminus Control
[WIN] Jund Shadow
[WIN] Budget Mono G Elves
[LOSS] BG Elves
[WIN] Grixis Shadow
Have always felt we had a good Shadow matchup based on my experience in paper matches, I tend to keep sub-par 7s as I expect to be IOK/Thoughtseized turn 1; mulling makes my hands considerably worse so I tend to not unless I'm short on lands. Losing to UW in 3 felt bad as we came to a razor thin third game. Difficult to win when the board is flooded with Walkers and we do have some trouble clearing them out after they stick. Detention Sphere only provides a temporary answer as both T3feri and T5feri can bounce Detention Sphere. Thinking I might need to plug Hex Parasite back into my 75 if I continue to face UW.
Got punished being Wrath light against Elves who had some nutty draws, but otherwise it doesn't feel overly great for us regardless since they can easily gas back up with Lead the stampede / Canopy lands.
Second league
Changes:
-1 Crucible : I gave it a try again, just really felt bad everytime I drew it...can't afford to find a turn to drop it.
+1 Wrath : Flex slot, could be Hex Parasite / White Cavalier in this slot
-2 Deafening Silence : Was expecting to face Emry, not sure if it's even good against them considering they have 4 EEs
+2 Aven Mindcensor : Vs. Amulet/Scapeshift
Second league (ongoing)
[WIN] Amulet
[WIN] 4C Chord Hatebears brew - Giver of Runes/Goyf/Thalia/Qasali Pridemage/Ooze etc
[LOSS] UW Stoneblade + Fae
Another frustrating close loss to UW in 3 - I've normally won this on paper, not sure if it's the level of opponent I'm facing on MTGO or because I don't have Court Hussar anymore. Really missed the digging power. Seems like everytime I lose to UW is when their draws are PW heavy.
Amulet matchup was unsurprisingly easy as I drew a number of sideboard cards to stall them as I got setup.
PROPS and SLOPS
+++Ranger Captain - everyone knows how I feel about this card by now, won't say more
++Charming Prince - great as advertised
++Dovin's Veto - skeptical of mainboarding it, but it's overperformed
+Cavalier of Dawn - does some serious work against troublesome permanents
+Aven Mindcensor - love it vs. Scapeshift/Amulet
+Kami - MVP vs Shadow
?? Flickerwisp - on the fence right now on this card, I do appreciate resetting spyglass and Dsphere and the ability to block flyers
--Wall of Omens - after the replacement of Lone Missionary, to me this is the worst card in the deck now. I've really missed the digging power of Court Hussar and intend to swap out 2 Wall of Omens for 2 Watcher for Tomorrow in my next league. Will have to add blue sources accordingly.
I agree with a lot of your assessments, UW control is a weird matchup and in my experience on mtgo it often comes down to time. Unfortunately stacking all of our triggers usually means we get behind on clock, it's much different in paper magic.
How did the league go with your changes, did they feel okay?
Also, I have a question for you guys. What do you think of Lavinia, Azorius Renegade over Stony Silence in our current meta? I've noticed that outside of the actual thopter combo in Whirza none of their artifacts really do anything. They're really just there to provide an engine for PO, Emry or Urza. LAR would also be additional help vs Tron and could help slow down Amulet. It would also help the non-bo of having Thraben Inspector plus Stony Silence in the Ranger-Captain of Eos builds, thoughts?
Lavinia is an interesting card, but with the rise in popularity of whirza, having a piece of hate that affects it while also slowing down Tron is quite good.
Because if we look at it, Lavinia only stops big Karn and Ugin. They're free to play the rest so I don't think hate only over 2 cards in the deck makes her a worthy substitute for stony silence
Here comes some feedbacks following previous tournaments.
After some wandering, I am back on T3feri & Spell Queller combo. The two cards are too strong together to not play them if we are splashing blue.
Charming Prince is awesome and never a dead draw. Moreover, it combos well with Blade splicer, Wall of Omens, Thraben, Queller & Sun Titan.
Blade Splicer: I love the card so I might be biased here ^^. Very versatile as it can play defense or offense. And helped me to be able to play 3 games in 50 min time ^^.
Thraben Inspector: this little buddy feels great in the early game. So far, I would not cut it.
Supreme Verdict: I cutted the 2 as it often feels like a dead draw in my meta.
Here comes my updated list that I am going to play & test in the coming weeks :
4 Thraben Inspector
4 Charming Prince
4 Wall of Omens
3 Spell Queller
3 Blade Splicer
2 Teferi, Time Raveler
3 Restoration Angel
2 Dovin's Veto
3 Sun Titan

3 Emeria, the Sky Ruin

@Kopikop1bcn
I remember playing with Blade Splicer, it can be pretty potent against the right decks. Good luck!
@Starstorm
Your logic is sound, I took your advice and removed a ghost quarter and remorseful cleric instead.
I went to a couple of tournaments as well, the Hamilton open was super close for me which was nice. The games often go long though, which leads to me becoming fatigued and playing sloppy in the later matches.
Anyway I played Bant SnOko, Dredge, UW Control, Paradoxical Outcome, Grixis Shadow, Affinity.
I lost the against PO and Affinity, I had a draw against Control and dropped at 3 - 2 - 1.
The affinity match was the last one and I played very sloppy. That said my opponent did have an active mystic forge with an eot galvanic blast with for kami both games.
The control match, my opponent pushed it to game 3 with 12 minutes left on clock and then refused to concede while dead on board after turns.
PO still felt terrible, I was buried under Emery game 1 and Oko game 2.
I think I may take a break from modern for a bit. As I have a couple of decks that I want to explore in pioneer.
The new card from theros alirios, Enraptured it s 3cmc 2/3 and makes a 3/2 Reflection when it etbs... thats pretty good especially with charming prince or soulherder builds.

If you want a card that gives you tokens via an ebt trigger Blade Splicer is the superior choice. It can block the turn after it entered the battlefield (and the turns after if the token survives) and the tokens have the option to get first strike.

I have a Soulherder build with 3 herder and 2 blade splicers main. The first strike is relevant, because for example.. two 3/3 golems with first strike will kill a Gurmag angler or a 5/6 goyf on defense. But of course, I'm open to testing new cards. Will test Alirios when the new set comes out.
yeah but it is a 1/1 which dies to almost anything...the reason ii suggested it is its a total power of 5/5 as a 3/2 and a 2/3 vs a 3/3 and a 1/1 (with first strike)
So while I've mostly been playing Pioneer, I have still played a few modern games too. Has Oko-Snow been getting more popular recently? The last couple matches I've played it's been either that or e-tron. I've been piloting the mono white deck again and have made a couple changes.
I've actually been fairly impressed by HoR as I'm usually casting it for WWW and am considering sneaking one into the maindeck, it always feels super powerful vs oko, artifacts, and e-tron.
Hey there! I've also taken a bit of a break from modern in the last weeks, but I've been acquiring some cards, namely the Stoneforge package and rebuilding my deck with that.
Went to FNM for the first time in a few weeks yesterday and manage to get a top4 after 6 rounds, going 4-2!
First game went against Esper stoneblade and managed to win 2-0.
One thing that will be common in most of these matches is that stoneforge mystic is absolutely amazing! I managed to put it both matches on turn 2 so was lucky there, but the amount of value it generated by getting equipments that we can equip to any of our littler creatures that usually are just chump blocks is amazing.
First game was basically decided by stoneforge and batterskull and the second one by Emeria, as it went long and he didn't get the grave hate he needed, so titan plus a sword of light and shadow was just to much to handle.
I've also brought in from the side a sword of sinew and steel which I found very helpful in every midrange or control match ups that rely on planeswalkers.
Match 2 was jund, which I lost 2-1.
I always considered this a very split match up as they are the king of midrange decks in my opinion.
First game was close but she managed to beat me with a scavenging ooze locking my grave.
Second game I kept a suboptimal with 2 titans and a sword of sinew and steel. Turn on inquisition takes the sword and I'm left with only the Titans. I somehow manage to survive to turn 6, slam a titan to bring the sword back and the game turns for me, as I just put 2 swords on titan and swing for 10 each turn, with protection from every color except green.
Game 3 I saw 3 lands in 8 turns with 2 redraws from wall of omens soooooooo not really a game
Match 3 was ponza, one of my greatest fears!
Game one he kept a suboptimal hand with no red sources and didn't draw them for quite a while so I won easily.
Game 2 I get slammed with a turn 2 blood moon. I fetch for an island which he breaks with pillage the turn after. He proceeds to ramp into karn and lock me with lattice before I can even get a 2nd plains. I'm preety sure it was as close as a God hand they could have.
Game 3 they go for the turn 2 blood moon again but I have the counter.
The game progresses, he plays a karn which shuts down my swords but Ranger captain of eos buys me 1 turn before lattice comes to stabilize. After that turn I play a titan and lock him out of the game with the Ranger titan lock, with a giver of runes to protect any of my pieces.
Match 4 was against merfolk. Won 2-0.
Being a crwrures match up it went exactly as expected, me fighting for my life I. The early turns, c humping and what not until a wrath sweeps the board. Major props to mini Teferi in both games bouncing his vial and shutting his flash merfolk and counters.
Match 5 was against UW control. Won 2-0 as well.
Game 1 was quite weird as both me an my opponent drew preetyich every land in the deck, and the little action we both dew was countered or exiled (in the end I had 30 cards in the deck and only 2 lands left in those 30)
Of course having emeria on, as soon as I drew a stoneforge, there wasn't really anything he could do.
Game 2 was longer and very interactive. I got a good start with stoneforge mystic and him with a mini Teferi. Also a neat interaction that occurred - he played detention sphere on my sword, and usually we use detention spheres ourselves which can't interact with other detention spheres. However I Dre my one of deputy of detention which really gave me an edge not only exiling his sphere but being a creatures to put the sword on.
I eventually got emeria on but soon after he played rest in peace. With that the only things I had to rely on were the creatures and not the value. Once again comes stoneforge mystic which turned every little creatures I had in a threat to be dealt with, which eventually made me win the game. Sun titan with protection from white against a control deck is quite good!
Lastly already in the top 4, I went against burn which I lost 2-1, both times he was on the play.
I still find this particular match up very hard, even with all the lifegain in the deck and 2 forgetender in the side to be fetch by Ranger captain of eos.
Although I was a hit unlucky as he played all 3 games and eidolon of the great revel which took quite a toll on me, they are just too fast and kill you out of nowhere.
I will post my list shortly but for final messages, e really liked the Stoneforge package in this deck. I'm currently playing 3 stoneforge, 1 batterskull, 1 sword of light and shadow and one sword of sinew and steel in the side. I liked it so much I'm pondering adding a third equipment cause many times I felt stoneforge was just coming to the field with no value so that's something I'll look into.
If you guys have any recommendations or criticism please feel free to give your opinion so we can keep playing better with this great deck!
Not safe to invest on Oko at the moment due to the threat of a ban.
But for people who already have Oko,, well, they could try. He's a rather strong planeswalker.
Hey guy, long time i just consult that forum for improve my Emeria Titan. This deck was recommend by a friend of mine, I take soooo much pleasure to play it even this a ***** tier sometimes but in my sensibility this deck is the reason why i'm loving MTG
Here is my deck list, i'm not a big level player, however i play a lot on Xmage (rating 1550 approximately) when i have time to doing it. I think the list is performant, tell me your opinion about it
I'm wondering how 2 cards are performing for you: Hour of Revelation and Gift of Estates. The first seems to be a card more fitting in the sideboard, but I'm curios about your answer.

Yeah I understand your interrogations about these slots.
Gift of estates is really efficient with ghostquarter / blast zone / path to exile / wind of abandon, you just have to be careful with fetch lands of your oppo, he can choose to not giving your lands by not find anything in the library. You have also to take your non basics plains before in case you need another land and you have to path your own beasts or ghost quarter your own double emeria for example
I realise that the deck needs 6 lands to be strong not less so it's easy to understand that you need that spell considering that
And it could help you just to fill your hand against liliana / rack strategys
Hour of revelation is really useful in my opinion.
Remember that the main strategy is to force opponent to overextend et then wipe.
The application of that card is big and complete very well blast zone to beat planewalkers like oko / wren&six / Liliana or urza's thopter foundry strategy.
Also useful against elf deck, ensnaring bridge, bloodmoon...
I'm a kind of mad builder and i try every single card which can have any interest with Emeria Titan, and hour of revelation works
I'm trying in that moment a ballzy build with 4 emeria and just a realmwright very synergic with ranger / tefeiri to protect him the turn he arrive by sacrifice ranger at opponent upkeep. After that you have got with just 7 lands and a emeria a lockdown about non crea spell every turn...
We also have to consider in my opinion gift of immortality impressive with kami but also useful with ranger or titan...
tell me you opinions bros

Gift of estates is really efficient with ghostquarter / blast zone / path to exile / wind of abandon, you just have to be careful with fetch lands of your oppo, he can choose to not giving your lands by not find anything in the library. You have also to take your non basics plains before in case you need another land and you have to path your own beasts or ghost quarter your own double emeria for example

For example in that moment my list is like this
1 Realmwright
4 Charming Prince
4 Ranger-Captain of Eos
2 Kami of False Hope
4 Sun Titan
NON CREA
4 Path to Exile
4 Teferi, Time Raveler
2 Supreme Verdict
4 Winds of Abandon
3 Gideon of the Trials
1 Hour of Revelation
2 Gift of Estates
1 Gift of Immortality
5 Plains
4 Emeria, the Sky Ruin
4 Flooded Strand
2 Hallowed Fountain
1 Mistveil Plains
3 Ghost Quarter
2 Castle Ardenvale
2 Blast Zone
1 Island
3 Damping Sphere
3 Circle of Protection: Red
3 Surgical Extraction
2 Rest in Peace
2 Hour of Revelation
2 Stony Silence
I'm trying in that moment a ballzy build with 4 emeria and just a realmwright very synergic with ranger / tefeiri to protect him the turn he arrive by sacrifice ranger at opponent upkeep. After that you have got with just 7 lands and a emeria a lockdown about non crea spell every turn...
We also have to consider in my opinion gift of immortality impressive with kami but also useful with ranger or titan...
tell me you opinions bros
