I dont see Lavinia as that obvious, as a sb card I think there are Better choices even in uw builds, as a main choice her effect Is not general enough Imo, unless I am missing something. Nice tutor choice but yes gaddock teeg Will Be Better in the same matchups.
Do you think that Tithe Taker can be playable in the deck ?
It can slow down the game and block twice (reminds me of Carrier Thrall which I've tried in a W/B build).
Lone Missionary has a rather narrow utility and though it is effective I'm always looking for other 2-mana creature options to improve the deck.
In a graveyard-geavy meta maybe there is a case for maindecking Remorseful Cleric in the 2-drop slot.
I'm not really a fan of Lavinia, it isn't really good as a maindeck card and not as focused as a hate card to take away SB slots from other combo hosers.
I dont see that either as playable. I am now trying Lone Missionary as a 1-of maindeck, with 1 in the sideboard. Meddling Mage is playable Imo, remorseful cleric might Be as well. As It was being said a while ago, though, It might also Be that we dont really Need anty-gy direct hate if you play other cards like settle the Wreckage or runed Halo.
Yes I didnt want to list all the possible cards you Can play against graveyard decks (against dredge I dont think you Need It for instance, also against kci, but It depends on the list of course), but as I said I think its a playable card even maindeck.
Tithe Taker could be a good card for the main. Any time we can buy I think it's good.
The way I see it, what you sideboard for GY hate should be up to you. I wouldn't run RiP but it is the best card in what it does, for example. I find Remorseful Cleric to be a good fit for the deck, but it requires timing, and it turns into an inferior Flickerwisp at best in non-graveyard dependent matchups, so I wouldn't put in the main.
I would just try them all and see what works best.
I agree, I hope that Ravnica Allegiance gives us some new tools too. Already we kind of have Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, Tithe Taker, and Absorb as potential cards worth testing. Though I don't think that any of them will become a staple of our deck by any means.
So, I did some playtesting with Teferi, Hero of Dominaria in leu of Gideon Jura a while ago. I am a little conflicted in my assessment of this walker. The best thing about Teferi was that combined with Field of Ruin he can permanently tuck a troublesome permanent, or he could also continuously draw cards for you to bury your opponent if left unchecked. However, before sideboard we don't have access to a critical mass of instants or creatures with flash to really take full advantage of his + 1 untap lands ability. We also lack Search for Azcanta, which can combo very nicely with him because of this. For us Teferi is + 1 draw a card or - 3 removal, not terrible but also not generally impactful enough in most matches I played. I would encourage you to test him yourself and see how it goes. Hope this helps!
Ok, thanks for the feedback. Will test when I get my hands on one. The spendings this holiday season has left me very little extra money. Need to wait for the next paycheck before getting any new mtg card.

Since you're running Glittering Wish, have you considered a second one for the sideboard or you think space is too limited?
So I can see wanting to run Teferi, Hero of Dominaria as part of the wish package, and to be honest I have considered him before. The problem is that there is not very much room and you want to diversify your wish selection so that each card accomplishes a specific task. So lets break down Teferi, + 1 draw a card + untap two lands and - 3 tuck a permanent and - 8 win the game. The reason why you generally want to draw cards is to look for an answer or a threat. The problem is that you could just of easily just wished for an answer or threat to begin instead. Teferi's ultimate will win you the game, but the clock is still just as quick if you wish for a Sigarda, Host of Heron's and bring your opponent from 20 to 0. In the end, Teferi is redundant and doesn't accomplish anything unique. If Teferi untapped lands during your mainphase or Glittering Wish was an instant I may want to reconsider my position.
I believe that given the history of three mana planeswalkers Dovin Baan deserves at least a test drive. I mean he basically accomplishes everything this deck is about life gain card draw and permanents under three cmc. That said, I'm unsure if he will make any meaningful waves, may be good against Spirits though so theres that.
Deputy of Detention seems too easy to remove. It's probably much better in Standard. However, it also only targets opponent's stuff, which protects our own permanents if the opponent removes his only valid target in response (a la Banishing Light).

Yeah that makes sense. Your previous post about testing Teferi after replacing Jura made me curious is all. It does make more sense in the main IMO. It is a strong card regardless, although I understand why you run Jura to being with.
It's hard to say if I'm being honest. I personally wouldn't use Deputy of Detention due to its creature fragility, but there is more synergy due to Emeria, like you said. That said, I'm not sure what would I cut, other than Detention Sphere itself, in order to make room for it. Truth is, if the deck needed more more removal of that caliber we could always max out the Spheres (I personally run three).
@TimeWizud All really cool cards, and maybe I'm wrong about High Alert but they don't really seem to impact the board when cast, three to five mana is a lot in modern.
Anyway, I've recently started playing mono white again because of the UR Phionex decks running around. Remorseful Cleric and Kami of False Hope really help in the matchup! I'll share the list, but I've had good results with it so far, it really needs more card advantage to do well outside of a creature / graveyard centric meta but if you come across either of those you're favored to win.
Good morning. As the thread was deleted. To prevent the data from being lost, I have decided to temporarily take over the primer. Not very active in FNM right now. But I think I have enough experience with the deck to write a primer for the thread. Anyone who wants to give assistance on card choices, and recent match-up data are welcome. Thank you.
I've been testing Tithe Taker in my build, and it's been great. My gameplan with the deck is to use the inevitability of eventually getting Emeria online, using the creatures and whatnot as just speedbumps and disruption against the opponent to live long enough to get Emeria online. Tithe Taker does just that, in forcing the opponent to play around being able to fetch and cast spells on my turn, and chumping twice. I'm still not particularly happy with the deck, and feel that more needs to be done in order to make it more efficient, but I do feel that Tithe Taker goes a long way towards achieving that goal.

Hmm, care to share your Tithe Taker list? I can create a section in the primer for unconventional builds.
I'm really glad this thread is back up, that's great! What happened to original person who held the primer?
@The Fluff I'd be more than happy to help contribute information regarding matchup data, what decks did you need the matchup info for so far?
@thnkr A Tithe Taker list would be interesting, I'm glad it's been working out for you. For myself, most recently I've been piloting a UWish build with some success on magic online. I've gone through so many revisions but I think what I have now is optimal.
So this version has been doing well for me on magic online. Gaddock Teeg shutting down Electrodominance and Sigarda, Host of Herons shutting down the wrath aspect of Living End has come up in more games then it reasonably should. It seems to have a decent Phoenix matchup too. I remember absolutely manhandling a Temur Phionex opponent with Glittering Wish and Rest in Peace. Aggro has been better for me since making the changes too. I've learned that a lot of the time you want to use Glittering Wish for a second wrath against most creature based aggro because they can usually rebuild after the first one. On the draw you can also add one Supreme Verdict into your deck and keep one in side to have access to a total of eight wrath's and maximize consistency. I did add Nissa, Steward of Elements to the deck, in place of Geist of Saint Traft and so far it's been preforming much better as a second non-graveyard win condition. Either drawing cards and ramping towards Emeria, the Sky Ruin, scrying to relevant cards, or clocking the opponent for 10 damage and killing the opponent out of the blue.

Still many cards left to be revealed. So we just have to wait.

On another thing. I know he's expensive, but has someone tried using Teferi, Hero of Dominaria?

Also related, any thoughts on the new Dovin Baan?

What do you all think of Deputy of Detention? I mean it's essentially a Detention Sphere on a 1/3 body. This obviously synergises more with Emeria, the Sky Ruin but I'm not sure if that's worth the potential of being blown out by removal. It's also worth noting that while you can recur Detention Sphere through Grafdigger's Cage you cannot recur a Deputy of Detention, which is relevant. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
What about High Alert? Turns our Wall of Omens and Court Hussar into beats, but weakens Flickerwisp. But it does little towards our long term goal, so not really worth it?
Precognitive Perception is on curve behind Sun Titan and helps us find Emeria?

Recently I've been debating cutting a Lone Missionary to move the last Remorseful Cleric from the board. Then perhaps adding a one of Celestial Purge, Disenchant, Declaration in Stone. You could also make an argument for a third Kami of False Hope too.
