What are people's splits on Serum Visions and Opt nowadays? I've been on 4 Opt for a while but I've found myself in a lot of situations where I wish I had SV, especially when choosing opening hands to keep. On the other hand, Snap Opt has been so powerful in any MU where I want to be cautious about tapping out
Can we discuss the 5th place list running through the breach?
It's essentially the same Jeskai Tempo shell with an oops, I win button in place of quller/geist.
I think the 4 Opt are great here as you basically play from turn 3 on as a flash deck. The only issue I saw was Patrick having a hard time finding his second piece. It's not compact like Nahiri, so you essentially have 8 dead cards in your deck until at least turn 5. I guess the search for Azcanta helps.
I don't know. Thoughts?
I was surprised to see that he don't have any Stony Silence in SB. I am currently testing this version with my wife and I am about 50-50 against affinity. I will test it against eldrazi tron this week end.

I'm on 0 Opts and a full set of Serum Visions. I really don't see a good reason to play Opt unless I'm going for a completely Flash-style deck. Even then, I still think Serum Visions is still better if I'm not going to play Think Twice, Sphinx's Revelation, Glimmer of Genius or some sort of card draw spell.
I've been trying out Settle the Wreckage as my 4-mana sweeper of choice since it interacts better with Geist and Queller than Supreme Verdict, is better against Dredge and can snipe a Thrun. I also think it is still under the radar enough that it has a surprise factor still. I'm most worried about the big mana matchups (hence the Molten Rains), more specifically the Valakut matchup. I know it's definitely beatable, but it's heavily dependent on a turn 3 Geist and having Logic Knots for their payoff spells. I've considered Flashfreezes in board, as well as Disdainful Strokes, just not sure on the way I want to go with the board plan yet. 3-mana Gideon has also been a consideration, alongside going up to 2 Runed Halos.
I'm also trying out the 6-cantrip version for this week, I'm usually playing 4 Opts and then +1 Colonnade and +1 Electrolyze. I've also been trying out the Avacyn for a couple of weeks now. It's felt good, but definitely airs towards the "win-more" side, though I do like the fact that it protects our threats in combat and from removal spells. There's every chance that it doesn't make the final cut.
Do you think theres any way jeskai nahiri comes back?
I know a lot of people give that deck ***** ("stopped being good after a month", etc) but nahiri threatens a fast (but not surprise) combo, and is a strong board control/card selection tool.
Its quite possible that nahiri control would look very different than previous lists, but its something to think about.
I still play Nahiri at FNM occasionally because its my favourite version of the deck, but her main issue right now is that she is just very poor against big mana decks. If the meta would shift to be grindier and I'd feel comfortable tapping out on turn 4 more often, Nahiri would be a much better option
I found that playing the combo pieces over Queller, Geist and Clique improved the MUs against most of the big mana decks.
If Jeskai Geist/Queller still has a 50/50 matchup against big mana, then thats still a good place to be. When big mana decks become prevalent, there should be an uptick in burn, aggro, and infect, which Jeskai is great against. At a large event being the deck that preys on the decks that are trying to beat big mana is the place to be. If big mana is a problem, just run additional counters in the board, like 2 Negate and 2 Disdainful Stroke, or a 1/3 split.
Hey guys im new to this primer and deck. Have been playing it online and like it quite alot but it does have some very poor match ups.
I just played against counters company a selesnya counter deck with the main board voice of resurgence, ramunap excavater and ghost quarter.
I won 1 game post board out of 6. Main board voice is pretty tough and i dont have much experience vs that deck so im sure my plays were sub optimal. i have a few questions however but first my list and sideboard
i have found that electrolyze and spellsnare to just under perform. spell snare is kind of dead in more games than not unless its drawn early. and quite honestly there are many games where I am just not pleases when i draw electrolyze. i had a main deck sphinz's revelation but took it out for the second electrolyze. What do you guys think about main deck sphinx's revelation and/or one elspeth sun's champion? I find at times the deck may need some top end what could i do?

You're basically at a stock list -1 Clique +1 Geist. The only thing that stands out are the rejections. I think you want at least 2 Disdainful stroke before your first rejection. Unless maybe you have a lot of Lantern control where you are? I don't see anything wrong with an Elspeth or a Gearhulk or something large as a late-game finisher or even in the board for grindy matchups..
I think with 4 path, 2 spell snare, sideboard sweepers including Anger that you wouldn't have to worry about voice.
Is Ancestral Vision ever considered to be played in Jeskai control?
Yes, but it's value after the first turn drops significantly in non-control decks. Even in control decks, most would rather try to play other card draw spells other than Ancestral Vision because of how bad it can be as a top deck later in the game. It's a little less bad with Desolate Lighthouse or Nahiri, the Harbinger.
Whether or not they're more mature than we are here, it seems fair to expect you to search the thread before asking a question like that.
If you had, you may discover that people have indeed tried it, and come to their own conclusions.

What does Pia and Kiran Nalaar bring to the table as a sideboard card in the deck? Why do we want it, and against whom?

You're probably better off asking questions or for help in the UWx Modern Control Facebook group. The people there are mature and helpful.
I hope they are indeed more mature than here
