Would you guys have your koths signed? I'm not sure if I would, since mine are japanese :/
if your concern is the artist's reaction, I truly don't think he'll mind at all. The art is still his, regardless of the language.
Personally I don't get my cards signed anymore since most artists got frickin huge handwriting and I want my cards to be readable. However since yours are japanese, chances are good that you'll have to explain its abilities anyway.
So if you dig signs I'd say you should totally go for it!
Most of the new things we got are just slight upgrades to what we already had, and we hadn't had found anything amazing that we can build around (e.g Death's Shadow for Jund)
What about Heart of Kiran ?
It works well with PW's and 3-power+ creatures (which are already used in the deck).
Has anyone had success running Heart of Kiran in their deck ?
The card impressed me in a PW heavy deck ("WB Gideons") and it should be pretty well supported in "Skred Red" with a full set of both Koth and Chandra and 3+ power creatures like Hazoret and Eternal Scourge (or Boros Reckoner).
It would also lower the curve by dropping the 5-drops entirely.
I've been making working on my sideboard plan for GP Copenhagen and I've come to realise that I actually side in Molten Rain more often than I leave in Relics. Molten Rains are a given against ramp decks such as Tron, Eldrazi decks and RG Valakut. I also find them useful against Burn, where one less land can be a severe tempo lose for the burn player, which can allow you to stabilise. It's also good against most 3 color decks, against control, and against decks playing creature-lands.
I guess I have two questions: 1) Am I over-sideboarding with Molten Rains? If so which matchups do you side them in against and which do you leave them out? 2) Since I find myself going for Molten Rains most games and siding out relics about half, would it be crazy to go for Molten Rains in the main and Relics in the side instead of the other way around?
Interesting, because to me it's the other way around; I rarely side out relics. Often I have a lot of other things to get rid of before relic since the cantrip doesn't make it useless. Molten Rains feels like a necessary evil, but there's not too many matchup I side them in.
I've been thinking of just replacing them with 3 Rabblemaster and a Needle as they do a lot of work against ramp/tron as well as being more flexible. Needs testing tho, idk if it's good enough against said decks.
Edit: I side in Molten Rains against tron, scapeshift/breach variants, and control if I'm on play. That's about it. If I got a LOT of dead cards main, like Blood Moon-resistant decks or ad naus, I may also include some copies. But I wouldn't count those as reasons to play them.
I side in Molten Rain when Blood Moon is ineffective -- which is often enough. But I don't think it makes sense to flip them because Blood Moon does get free game one wins.
As for Heart of Kiran I'm interested in it too. I want to try a lower-curve build (no five drops and no Pia and Kiran) and I think Heart is part of that. But I have to do some more testing and thinking before I shell out for two more Chandra's and two or more Hearts.
Unless someone comes up with a radical list, there really isn't much to talk about.
I've made some tweaks to my Obliterate list from a couple weeks ago, but I just haven't had any time to get out and play. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll have more to report.
First Round vs. Dredge
Game1 - (He opens with Gemstone Mine and I am like "OMG, first round vs Ad Nauseam!?) Faithless Looting, Cathartic Reunion, always dredging for 6/12/18.... T3 he had 10(!!!) creatures on the field -> Anger of the Gods killed them (ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED)but then I died to two Bloodghasts + Scourge Devil (0:1)
Game2 - ... not hitting a single Relic or Cage or Anger... (0:2)
+ Grafdigger's Cage
+ Sun Droplet
-2 Stormbreath
0:1
Second Round vs U-Tron
Game1 - Knewing she's on Tron I aggressively mulliganed to something relevant, easy lose after I found nothing. (0:1)
Game2 - Perfectly playing the curve, Lightning Bolt -> Molten Rain -> Chandra -> Stormbreath -> Skred the Thought-Knot Seer -> gg (1:)
Game3 - We ended the match on 52 to 0 life, many interactions between 3 Wurmcoil Engines, a Batterskull + Thopter Token, some Skred and Shattering Spree, nearly made it to overtime but won 2min earlier, not much to say but funny match (2:1)
-4 Relic
-4 Scourge
+3 Molten Rain
+1 Vandalblast
+2 Shattering Spree
(1:1)
Third Round vs. Abzan/Junk
Rekt... nothing to say here, Relic -> Mind Stone -> Blood Moon -> Koth -> Chandra GG (1:0)
Second Match nearly the same, nothing he could do.
Boarded out the 3 Moons cause he knew exactly how to Play, boarded in 3 Bombs and the Cage (Kitchen Finks, Lingering Souls, ...)
(2:1)
Fourth Round vs. RG-Dragons (yeah... somehow thats a deck, he finished the tournament at the 11.place)
Played similar to Skred, Lands->Mind Stone->Dragon.
Each Dragon found a death in Skred... it was just a worse Version of Skred.
(3:1)
Fifth Round vs Through The Breach
Game1: Emrakul
Game2: Emrakul
(3:2)
HONESTLY, HOW SHOULD I WIN THIS?!
Sixth Round vs Storm
Game1: Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Manamorphose, Empty the Warrens - gg
Game2: Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Ritual, Manamorphose, Empty the Warrens - Ratchet Bomb - Koth/Scourge - gg (1:1)
Game3: Opening Hand 2x Claw, 1x Cage, 1Relic, 2Lands, Anger WIN!
(4:2)
So much luck in here, interesting Matches Storm is a hard matchup for us, we Need the Relics/Cages AND the massremoval for Tokens...
Seventh Round vs Jund
Peace of Cake...Streaminlined Skred like I never played anything else in my whole life.
Relic Matchwinner here, taking out his Goyfs
(5:2)
Finished on the 10.Place - I'm happy.
What I've learned:
- Relic of Progenitus is awesome These days, shutting down Delirium/Goyfs/Dredge/Storm/...
- Skred still shines vs everything, you just Need 5lands :'D
- Beside Blood Moon and Rain, I think we Need more vs Tron.
- Dredge is still a f*cked up deck
- I have no ideas what to do vs Through the Breach
- Stormbreath and Koth > Liliana of the Veil
Skred is still an awesome deck in the meta - nice matchups vs Affinity, Death Shadow, Jund/Junk
But we Need to improve the matchups vs Storm and Tron/Eldra Tron.
Spicy Skred lists, you say? I guess it's time to resleeve Hazoret and give her a shot. I still think she has tons of potential in Skred, and I will certainly keep trying her.

Im glad to be back on Skred
Honestly I've been playing Pithing Needle and Rabblemaster vs tron and it's been.... ok. I'd rather not build a sideboard specifically just to beat tron though.
Storm has just always been historically rough for us.
Hey, all! So I spent a few days testing out variations of the Heart/PW/Obliterate variant of Skred, and I have to say that against uninteractive decks, Heart is pure gas and destroys them, but against anything heavy on interaction, it's entirely dead. Also, in a deck with so many important artifacts, giving your opponents more reason to play Stony Silence is just bad. Heart and Sarkhan felt very swingy, so I went back to tuning my old version a bit more, and have ended up at this list:
So the Godo is obviously just a flex spot, add whatever suits you. I like being able to pull out Batterskull, and the double Magma Jet helps you to avoid drawing one after finding the other. Speaking of which, the Jets not only add even more interaction to stop creature-based combos like Vizier/Druid, Storm, Elves, etc; they also assist in filtering towards the Sideboard tech you really need. I'm mostly set on my current Sideboard, but I'm still not sure whether to run Shatter-ing Spree or -storm in that slot. The rest is pretty solid, except maybe Fallout. I just enjoy having more options against Blue decks with Empty the Warrens or Spirit hoards. Again, change to whatever suits your meta!
I genuinely do not see why people would not want to play scourge; that card wins me games singlehandedly. I understand he sometimes is not fantastic, but the games he wins even it out.
I genuinely do not see why people would not want to play scourge; that card wins me games singlehandedly. I understand he sometimes is not fantastic, but the games he wins even it out.
That statement practically defines the deck, to be completely honest. A lot of our cards, namely Blood Moon, don't always win game, but when they do it's a blowout.
I still haven't finished testing Hazoret (school is getting in the way), but I'm going to sleeve her up tomorrow for FNM.

Would like some final feedback on the sideboard, since this is the first time im going with experience/gut when building it.
Decklist seems totally fine
Beside that, Potroque is right -> 1-2 Roast would be awesome and there isn't much need for Pyrite Spellbomb these days.
And I would add one Anger or Bomb to the Sideboard.

By the way, Midn8Walker, did you end up trying out Processor Assault? How did you like it? This question is also meant for anyone else who has tested the card.
I will definitely go for 3x Assaults, local meta is heavy on Control, mostly Grixis.
In my last bigger tournament I would have been better with Roast
Need more time for more tests, will post results
I don't think the card is that great.... but I hope otherwise.

Just came back from the friday event. Went 3-1 because we both decided to draw the last match. Overall i can say i like playing skred, and I even ran into a R/B version of skred, with terminate's, IoK's and Thoughtseize's, looked pretty good, but he was not a very good pilot vs me. 700 prize tix, so a MM17 Snappy and a bunch of boosters.
Welcome to the lurkers! Always nice to see that there's still people getting into the archetype : )
@Tolsimiir
Your decklist looks great to me. Chandra, Torch of Defiance isn't a must, but it does everything you need to get back into the game if it hasn't worked quite out in the early turns. Very often it comes down and eats a creature, then either take a bolt for a 2-for-1 in your favor, or continues to supply a constant stream of card advantage or shocks. As such it stimulates the control part of the deck, so add according to your playstyle.
Personally I'm playing 3 atm because it's been that good to me, however I can also understand a more linear approach with a curve of quick pressure (Stone -> Koth -> Dragon). Magma Jet contributes to this style.
As for Roast, it's by no means a staple, but for many a necessary evil to deal with 5-thoughness creatures as discussed in page 78. If you need it rarely, simply drop it. It's all meta.
You sideboard looks flawless, except for the Shatterstorm. The only situations I'd play it would be with some Lantern Control in the meta, because it's not worth including for affinity. Shattering Spree is better in 95% of cases, personally I think 2 is the perfect number at the moment.
As for as I know there's no secret sideboard-tech for ad nauseum -it's simply our very worst matchup. Some try Goblin Rabblemaster coupled with Simian Spirit Guide, but even if you would get it down turn 1 it's no guarantee that they don't have their early Lotus and combo to follow quick enough. I'd say you should simply pray that you don't meet them (and luckily their playerbase is low), because atm there's no cards that allows us to interact well with instant/sorcery/enchantment based combo-decks.
I would cut down 1 Stormbreath Dragon and ad another Land, basically 1x Scrying Sheets - felt I was often screwed playing only 22Lands, but I guess im alone These days playing 23lands.
Ad Nauseam is a quite mess of a Play... managed to steal some games the days when I had Crumble to Dust with me
- Pithing Needle on "Lightning Storm"
- Blood Moon/Molten Rain
- Assembling a clock real fast :'D
- Artifact Removal and hoping for some luck.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance is a huge Plus for this deck.
She functions as Tread -> Her Ultimate wins.
She funktions as Removal -> 4DMG to your Thought-Knot Seer
She functions as Manafix -> +1, eat my Stormbreath/Godo/Obliterate/Whatever
She functions as "Carddraw" -> +1 oh, heres an removal!
Sideboard always relays on your local meta, I like Ratchet Bomb and Grafdigger's Cage at the Moment, but managed 2-3years playing SkRed without them.
Godo+Batterskull is pretty funny, I Play it sometimes at my LGS for funny rounds, would take out 1-2 Stormbreaths and the Roast?
We can't afford to play many Cards with cmc 5 or higher.
Btw. I love Batterskull Mainboard to swing back vs aggro/burn and theres nothing more beatufil than a 1/1 Thopter equipped with Batterskull... maybe a Stormbreath..

Have you guys tested out SSG in the deck? How has it been for you? I am very hesitant about the card.
2x Eternal Scourge
2x Pia and Kiran Nalaar
2x Stormbreath Dragon
1x Godo, Bandit Warlord
-Planeswalkers-
4x Koth of the Hammer
2x Chandra, Torch of Defiance

To be honest, I missed the Scourge :x
