What do you guys all think of the dragon that was spoiled today?
Glorybringer 3 generic 2 red
Flying, Haste
You may exert Glorybringer as it attacks. When you do, it deals 4 damage to target non-Dragon creature an opponent controls.
4/4
The way that I understand it, exerting it makes it so that it doesn't untap at your next untap step. I think that it could fit into decks as a combination beater/removal in the Stormbreath Dragon slot. It obviously needs testing but I think that it could be promising. It may also just be worth it for the sweet promo.
It seems cute, but Stormbreath Dragon just seems better overall, since it dodges the top 3 removal spells in Modern: Path to Exile, Lightning Bolt and Fatal Push. Being vulnerable to Path and being chumped by Lingering Souls' Spirits all day just makes it seems like a weak alternative to an affordable card.
Will be great in Standard (assuming a Cat ban) and great for Casuals, but it is not a Modern card.
I wasn't thinking of completely replacing Stormbreath Dragon. It just seems to me that the 4 damage has to be the right thing in some situation. If it doesn't end up going into decks, I think that it should at least be in the back of our minds as an option. Maybe, heavily depending on meta, it could also be in the sideboard for matchups that need more removal, don't have white, and still need a beater (this seems incredibly specific, so the meta where it's a good option may very well not exist).
I know that it's sub-optimal, but I really like the card and may try it anyway.
I'd prefer Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker as well which can also act as removal or attack for 4 in the air.
The new dragon seems not bad but not quite good enough.
I think the card is playable as a 1 of. It has an advantage over sarkhan since it can enter attack and kill a blocker then take the next turn off. Rather than enter kill a blocker next turn attack. It seems better situationally compared to sarkhan.
I'd run 2 Stormbreath 1 glorybringer, 1 sarkhan (if I even bother with sarkhan at all, never been the cards biggest fan).
I've mentioned in the past if you think it's worth trying just try it as a one of.
Looks like a very good tempo play. I only wished that it did 5 damage so that it could kill tasigur. Playing this to protect Koth and swinging for 4 at the same time seems bonkers and is on curve. This is sort of comparable to liliana of the void in how it can potentially control the board by nuking something every 2 turns and is a win condition all by itself if left unanswered.
Good afternoon, warriors!
Regarding the new dragon I do not believe it is good for the deck, the deck is slow, control, need to be bixos mid ranges strong and efficient
Pia and Kiran Nalaar - COST 4 ENTER 3 Bloquers holding champion, inkimoth, kor fire walker, etc take lightning? Sim path sim ?? Still leave 2 in the field
Stormbreath Dragon - cost 5 4/4 does not take the most common removes of the modern, impetus, lightning ?? Not path? Not Fatal? No headache when it falls. Any white deck that lets it fall ... is a very serious problem.
New Dragon - takes Path to Exile, something that is not good for a deck that does not have so many bixos, does not have monstrosity so much it as the other die for 2 rays, but we can still activate our old friend's Monstrosity + 3. not this one.
I don't like the new dragon. For 5 mana I want a finisher, and stormbreath is just so much better at that. Not only is it pro-white, the monstrosity is an undeniably good addition to the clock even against high life totals. It's true that the exert seems good for protecting Koth, but I'd rather have a dead Koth and an untapped Stormbreath than having a tired, more killable dragon and an extra activation from Koth. If the plan is to ult for sure win, then Stormbreath will do just as fine, if not better because of pro-white.
If the extert were 5 dmg, it would've been more interesting. Could've even had a Roast effect instead of non-dragon.
Death's Shadow is a matchup that can be manageable, but it hinges on the opponent not getting down 2 Shadows or having Temur Battle Rage before you can assemble a win through fliers, walkers or burn. You can grind pretty good against 1 shadow with either Reckoner, Parents, and especially Scourge, which might give you the time you need. However with their discard and tutors, they're more likely to progress their gameplan faster. Bridge is a very good tool against them, but won't win you the game outright as they pack Kolaghan's Commands. Overall I'd say it's a tough, but not a hopeless matchup.
UR Aggro? Is it even a deck anymore? At any rate it must be much more manageable without Probe to flip the Thing as quick as they did. There will still be games where they'll go turn 3 kill with Mutagenic Growths into battle rage, but I guess it's a rare nut draw at this point. A roast or two in your 75 should help if the matchup is too stressing.

It seems pretty good to me and also very reasonably costed at 4-mana for a resilient 5-power hasty threat that is also a good blocker (indestructible) and can pitch useless lands (or moons) to deal damage.
I really like the card.
I Agree! Although, I feel that it contradicts our control strategy. We want cards in our hand! I'm a little short on time, but what I can say is that I think Hazoret is a one-of.
It competes with our walkers at 4 mana, Pia and Kiran Nalaar, and other random four drops we want to play. I agree that the indestructible is awesome, but I think the only cards we want to pitch are lands, or maybe excess artifacts. Synergy-wise, we're about 80% of where we want Hazoret to be. HOWEVER, I will say that instant speed "animation" of Hazoret after attackers are declared will probably save a planeswalker or two. After testing some matches I'm sure we can reach a consensus; I also think this is the perfect buddy for Goblin Dark-Dwellers.
Cause you can pitch cards, then cast darkdwellers to get value from the card you pitch.
Its cute but compared to other 4 drops in the deck it just doesn't quite get there. Path is very much a thing in modern.
I am One_Man_Party and I am running a list of skred I dubbed Skredding Wildfire. And you guessed it I am running Main Deck Wildfires. Here is the deck list as follows:
I would love to find a deck in modern that can play wildfire, but there just isn't enough, it doesn't fit skred, because skred depends on your land count, wildfire makes you sac lands as well, and if you had a scourge in play with out a relic on line it will put it in the grave.
There just isn't enough synergy there. If you insist on playing this deck I would suggest cutting skred for roast or some other removal, and switching out Scourge for another threat. If only Modern had thran dynamo, or worn powerstone wildfire would be playable would be playable.

Big fan of the new god! Seems like it could be a strong 1 of in grindy games. I like how swift a clock it can be, and I like that it can turn Scrying Sheets into more real card draw, rather than just smoothing draws.

I play tested some games against a friend at a school I go to and have found out that you are indeed correct in that how much of a backfire or antisynergistic the wildfires are in comparison to the skred control deck.
Played in a modern tournament last night with this deck and
man is this fun. It was my first tournament with it. It’s a pretty standard
Skred deck but with no Scrying Sheets and instead 22 Snow Mountains as my lands.
I went 5-1-1 drawing because we both were going to make top 8 and then getting
to top 4 and splitting because it was getting late. Here are my overall
thoughts:
Pia and Kiran is an absolute All Star. Being able to block Etched Champion to buy myself a few extra turns along with
blocking Inkmoth and Blinkmoth was crucial. Also just being able to chip away
for a few turns and then getting in extra with the sack ability was awesome.I felt like I was always in control. My meta has
a lot of agro type decks (Abzan, Affinity, Revolt Zoo, etc). Having Skred and
Bolt in opening hand felt really good. Also Anger was great.Things keep getting better with sideboard. I used Vandalblast, Ratchet Bomb, and Molten Rains the most. I like that this feels kinda like a Red Control
deck. Killing their stuff in the beginning and just waiting until the right
moment for Koth and Chandra. Even got to use Chandra’s -7 ability which won the
game right away. Blood Moon!!!!!!!!! Nothing else to say about
that
My one negative I guess you could call it was I never found Scourge in any of my match-ups. And normally I would just side it out most of the time. Does anyone find Eternal Scourge to be good or a deciding factor in
games? Maybe I need more practice with him but I never got him out so I can’t
be sure. Any other 3 drops that could potentially take his spot?
Anyway, deck felt great and I felt like I was in a really
good spot 90% of the time. Will hopefully write more as I play in more
tournaments.
Skred is a hard deck to play. Sometimes its all great others.... Last night got flooded in almost every game. went 1-3 same deck though weak before 3-0-1.. Its just something that happens with skred. Some games all scourge all day - Like last night no pia any game.. Weird stuff
