I'm not sure I understand. Molten Rain is almost a strict upgrade to Stone Rain apart from having double Red in the casting cost. But given this deck is mono red, with 20 mountains, that doesn't seem like a significant issue.

I just got screwed several times. The extra 2 points of damage was never an issue for me. It was the ability to cast it turn 3. I think molten rain is way better vs. liliana decks but we crush those anyways.
Oh the blasphemy! I decided I'm not playing ramp. I wanna run Reckoners, PnK, stormbreath and Batterkill, so screw it.
Also this is generally how I'd build with reckoner nowadays.
Man. Great Primer, was a little surprised Skred isn't considered Tier 2, but whatever. Been working on building it lately, and been doing testing on some forbidden programs (wtf do we even call those on here these days?? I haven't logged in for years!), and I've actually really been enjoying a singleton copy of Godo. Good game-ender, very rarely regret having him in hand. Gotta say, those Reckoners do look mighty tasty in this deck, though...
We generally call programs such as Cockatrice third-party programs. Mind if we see your list? I'm eager to see what you got!
@cksboy15 No ramp??? Off with your head! To the salt mines with you! Infraction issued for breaking deck building rules (not really though)!
In all seriousness, No-Ramp Skred is really fun. I played no ramp for a very long time, back when I was on 4 Reckoner, 4 Stormbreath, and 4 Koth as my threats. I slotted in Magma Jet for more early game removal, and it worked like a charm. Batterskull is always a fun inclusion and swings games around, but I had trouble drawing it when I needed it because we generally run 1. Maybe run Godo? I hear he's fun.

I'm also brewing a Reckoner list and decided to move the Relics + Eternal Scourge package to the SB and go with Pyrite Spellbomb and more burn in the maindeck.
BR Aggro
Eggs Lost game 1 but sideboarded 2 eidolon 2 shattering spree and they won the game
Infect lost game 1, but kozileks return and eternal scourge shine in this match-up as they are colorless and not artifact.
So this list works on a nice split of ramp and filter. The Jets really help keep your hands from ending up with land clumps, or ending up with both Godo and Batterskull in hand at the same time. Commune with Lava has saved my butt a few times now, good mana sink for all the flooding I end up getting!
Still not entirely sold on everything in my Sideboard; Sudden Shocks give a nice advantage over some matchups, but maybe it would be worth it to shore up my weakness to decks like Ad Nauseum somehow instead? Still not sure there, but feedback is appreciated, thanks!
Sudden Shock helps your Ad Naus matchup a lot. The sideboard plan is basically board out everything that doesn't interact with your opponent's life total or disrupts them (such as Anger of the God) and bring in whatever you can that does dirupt/deal damage (Molten Rain, Rabblemaster, etc.). Shock is a burn spell: Angers do not. Board them in!

Just wanted to chime in with some testing results and the resulting lists. A few pages back, I brought up the concept of shaving lands and running Coldsteel Heart alongside Mind Stone as mana rocks. I tested that pretty extensively, and was kind of disappointed by the results. Next, I tried a mana rock-less list with Boros Reckoner and Pyroclasm that was very similar to the one posted by cksboy15 recently. Turns out that it was a bit too top-heavy, and I was underwhelmed with how weak the Clasm was at times (especially against Dredge, which is still around on MTGO). Because of this, I've decided to go with the following list:
I've actually tested this list in between the versions listed above, and I've been pretty happy with it. 24 lands helps me hit land drops 1-4 very consistently, and the deck runs very well once you do that. There are a few cards that I'm still a bit iffy on (Pyrite Spellbomb in the main vs. Magma Jet, Stormbreath Dragon over Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, Dragon's Claw over something like Sun Droplet and Sudden Shock), but for now this list feels pretty good.
This is a question for people who are playing Commune with Lava. Are you ever casting it on your turn, either on your upkeep or your main phase in order to get another land drop? Or is it pretty much only being cast on your opponents end step?
I'm playing a few days with this list and I'm having good results. The strength of the deck is the destruction of terrain, not the new chandras, so I had to innovate.
Wow, this list is truly all-in on the hate plan. I kind of like it, but on the other hand the reason why you struggle against a lot of those decks is because you're not doing much until T3, or T2 if you have a Simian Spirit Guide. That means you're a lot weaker on the draw than you are on the play, which is not the greatest place to be. I think you'd want card draw and graveyard hate to shore up your Jund matchup (so moving Relic of Progenitus to the main would help). I also understand the logic behind the SSG, but having so many 3-drops means that I think Mind Stone would be a better choice for you. Given all of your land hate, you should be pretty solid against control, so maybe those Ricochet Traps can become Roasts.
I only cast Commune on my turn if I'm looking for a Bolt to end the game and my opponent is tapped out or something. Otherwise, you almost always wait until their end of turn to cast it, so that you have mana available for the best period of time with it. Hope this helps!

Exactly. The biggest trade off is that you don't have ramp for turn 3 Koth/Chandra/PnK, but I think it's worth it.

I'm unsure about the 2x flex-slots in the deck which are now Coldsteel Heart but since I play only 22x lands and quite a few expensive threats it seems appropriate (or is Mind Stone better despite the non-bo with Reckoner ?).
The other options I considered were: Roast, Mizzium Mortars, Collective Defiance, Shrine of Burning Rage and Kargan Dragonlord.
