Agree, think in our card engines. Wall is a cantrip and a CA source with Resto, Ojutai is CA and CS, Cryptic is a cantrip, verdict killing 2 or more creatures is CA, and if Kitchen finks die with 2 decays, or blocking a creature and then take one terminate... literaly their removals are dying with our finks XD. Draw is not the only way to generate CA.

Note: Jace, AoT has been replaced with Sphinx's Revelation and it's been a great swap. I can see delagating Jace, AoT to the board.
I've also added a 4th Wall of Omens. The deck doesn't really need any other cantrip/draw besides maybe considering Remand and 2 Think Twice.
AV is good, but not necessary here. It's probably more of an option in the 10-11 creature version in Daniel Ballestin's list. In such an aggressive meta, the card is a terrible top deck and I'd actually rather have card filtering/selection via Serum Visions + Rev than AV.

Hey guys, I am getting some blue staples this days, and the only thing I am missing from UW is Colonnade.
Was thinking on Biava's Build since I love how its play, I was wondering however, how necessary is Vendilion Clique, since I only own 1 copy and 3 copies seems too much for me (and expensive),
if I cut 2 of them (so I would play only 1 main), what would you suggest me to play instead?
Went 5-2-1 at the Calgary Face to Face 3k. Good for 25th place. Played a deck that was essentially a mirror of Francesco's, save for some areas (Engineered Explosives) that are still outside the price range. Having the Ojutai just felt so powerful compared to other builds of UW I've been playing. I didn't see it that often, but one hit was enough to get the momentum in my favour.
Felt the 75 was pretty good. I don't know if it was my draws but I found Spell Snare a bit lackluster. Didn't see it when I wanted it and when I did it was in a bad matchup. However, that's likely results based thinking so will continue to run it.

Wall of Omens put in a lot of work vs Infect. Then I followed up with D-Sphere on 2 Glistener Elf, Snap/Path on Blighted Agent, GQ on Inkmoth Nexus, and finished it off with Resto, Ojutai, and Colonnade.
I also absolutely dominated Merfolk in both sets. The addition of more removal (especially 4 Verdict) and pressure over the top (Resto/Ojutai) proved too much for both players.
Detention Sphere was also an all-star in both sets hitting multiples of creatures, Master of Waves, Aether Vial, and Spreading Seas. In fact, the second Merfolk player hit me with 3 back to back Seas, then I drew a Plains and hit them back with D-Sphere.
I stabilized with Ojutai, but he came in hot with Lords and big bodies. I responded with a clutch Timely that gets me to 18 + 3 bodies, then he comes in for 13. I follow up with a top deck GQ for his Vault, attack with Ojutai, trigger reveals gas so I picked Path, cast Verdict, GG.
I was testing your list and agree with the 4 wall change, i love the card and is great in our deck.
Snare is weird, i usually play the Watanabe version (4 snare) and i love the card. but in your list, with only 2 copies is like if we have luck and draw in our initial hand... we stop their confidant, if not... we eat the confidant and draw an awfull snare in turn 4...
That revelation... i love the card, but with the recent numbers in metagame, isnt big elspeth simply better? If we play revelation for less than 6 we are not in a good position.
I feel confortable against tron, with your older list, but i test 3 geist version, how you feel now? I cant ignore that MU in my local meta or Valakault decks.

I agree with Snare being hit or miss at 2. I think we want 3-4. Any less and its role really becomes to stop Snap and counters most of the time. With 2 Snap, I'd play 3 max.
Rev has been fantastic as a big finisher, but I agree with your assessment of Elspeth. It's certainly better vs Eldrazi. Worth testing, which would open up a board slot.
I agree with missing Geists. I was blown out by Titan Shift and U Turns because of the lack of pressure. I'm likely going back to 2-3 Geist. I need to swap out the cards with the least impact out of the board.
I think Runed Halo is fantastic and would LOVE to fit 2 in the side. I.e. Valakut, Ad Naus, Infect, Eldrazi, Bogles, etc.
The least impressive cards out of the side, tbh, have been the graveyard hate. Very underwhelming, at least in my experience. I may actually dedicate just 1 slot to it.
Here's more testing results from yesterday:
Overall Record: 20-7
Test 1: 5-0
Test 2: 4-1
Test 3: 4-1
Test 4: 3-2
Test 5: 4-3
Record: 4-3
2-1 vs BW Tokens
2-0 vs Affinity
1-2 vs RW Burn (misplay)
1-2 vs Jund
2-0 vs Grixis Delver
0-2 vs Titan Shift
2-0 vs Affinity
I keep dominating Affinity, Merfolk, and Infect. I'm particularly proud about that.
I started with Biava's list and then I proceeded to make several little adjustements after testing the deck quite a bit. The whole thing is still developing but now I feel I got to something I like and only minor changes will occur.
This looks strong! It's more creature-heavy, but this version appears to apply more pressure. I just don't like 4 Jace. The Alliance is very good with Ojutai, of course. How's Gearhulk? I also love the Halo's in the side.

I keep seeing people saying that runed halo and leylines are good against ad nauseam. They aren't. Don't bring them in unless you think the ad nauseam pilot is brain-dead. They will just be dead cards at best and at worst they will trick you into thinking you're safe and then you just die anyways because they don't do anything.

This. Ad Naus tends to run Laboratory Maniac as a win condition post board against us anyways, because Leyline and Halo are things. Heck, I've even seen Grave Titan brought in against me.

No seriously. Don't. You're not forcing them to use their backup win condition. They will still kill you at instant speed with lightning storm. Bring in giest, counters and stoney silence. I've played a lot of ad nauseam and nothing makes me happier than someone mulling into a leyline. Do you know how many answers I have to runed halo and leyline? Ones even free, patrician's scorn. I don't understand how the deck has been around for so long and people still don't understand how to sideboard against it.
Until they do I'm going to keep bringing it to my competitive events and destroying people.
Oh I fully support halos in the board. It's a great catch all. It's just not good against ad nauseam. If it's a matter of replacing a super dead blessed alliance or path then sure but don't cut pressure or counters for it. I don't agree that ad nauseam is that bad for us. I've only played against it twice with this deck but both games were easy 2-0's. The only cards we care about are bosieju and pact of negation. As long as you can hold up multiple counters and GQ or tec edge the bosieju you don't have to worry too much about clock. Obviously geist is amazing but a snapcaster will get there if they never combo off. I've seen a lot of people punt games by tapping down to increase the clock on a game they were almost certainly going to win off some weenie beating me down. They can always assemble the god hand of multiple pacts and the combo but its not terribly likely.
I see you my friend... shouting to the world that we need that Jace in our decks.

Not much to do, we need to have the perfect answers in the perfect time against RG Valakut:
-Ghostquarters when they are ready for Valakut lands
-Path before titan attacks (or counter it)
-Counter ramp spells when we are able to, so they cannot activate Valakut/cast Primeval Titan earlier. (This is maybe less important but helps if u are heavy on counters)
Ponza is harder because of Blood Moon destroying us G1 most of times and the land destruction.
The best counter against both is going to be Negate 90% of times, it works with every non-creature they play and is generally a lot better than Stroke in Modern, where most decks curve up to turn 2/3.
Against RG Valakut the best thing you can do really is Runed Halo their Valakut I think.
I don't know, I was thinking about Disdainful Stroke because it counters Titan, and all the busted nonsense RG Ponza runs (Stormbreath Dragon, Inferno Titan and such). You can still counter Scapeshift, Mwonvuli Acid-Moss, Madcap Experiment, Through the Breach...
It seems VERY reasonable. You may even be able to counter TKS.
