Why not take the Legacy route and use Farie Mcabae? It works at instant speed, not a bad top deck, and they'll never see it coming. Even vs dredge, if you hit their dredge cards, you'll leave them stranded. Imagine the reaction when they carthartic reunion and in response, you exile the dredge cards they just discarded. you could even "play bad" and leave no mana up, then SURPRISE! not to mention they can't kill it at the end of turn, untap, and wreck your face. I think if we are looking for that type of effect, the farie is the way to go, not leyline.
Faerie Macabre is a staple in legacy (I play moonwalker/red stompy/red prison in legacy) but that's mostly cause of the reanimator decks. I really like this against control as they can't counter it, it gets around the chalice nombo could work against storm by taking past in flames and another key piece, same with green decks. Where I'm not sure how it works is against KCI as they can likely respond to the trigger and get the stuff from the graveyard back into their hand unless say they play a KCI/trawler unprotected and we can destroy and then macabre it. Still this doesn't stop them tutoring or digging for another copy.
Two Dragon-Herders made the winning line-up. Do we like the Sarkhan, Russ?
I’m sold on him, and have been retrofitting all of my Pyro Prison decks to accommodate.

Right now, that 5-0 list you see is my new go-to list. Right now, I wouldn't change a thing. Sarkhan solves many problems for us. Not a 4 of since our flex slots are valuable, but definitely a 2-of. I only play once a week, so it's not like I'm jamming league after league after league. So it means a lot to me when I get published.
That sideboard is very tight. I’m matching 12/15 spells. Main board has some throwbacks, like magma jet, and outliers like Flame of Keld. Mana base/rituals are all there.
Russ, your main is 2 cards off from mine. I'm really loving Sarkhan as well. His rummage is well appreciated. Even the Dragons have been more impactful than I expected, and it feels great to Abrade Bridge on end step to unleash the hoard. I'll be keeping him around a while.
I completely.iased the win on mtgtop8. Nicely done William, whoever you are. Please, if you are a reader of this forum, let us know. Would be great to get a tournament report.

He's actually the RW prison FB group I'll ask him if he wants to join the forum was chatting to him yesterday.

Hey russ is there anyway to view any of your games from this? Or is it possible when you get a chance to do a writeup, mostly just matchups, SB options and/or what you think worked what didn't.
Actually general note how do I watch the guys stream (specifically the competitive modern league matches) at the moment I just watch fluffy's replays on youtube.
Sorry for all the inquiries but wondering if people are still running graveyard hate in their SB and if so what. The matchups which really concern me like KCI grafdiggers does nothing to and they can often respond to a relic or tormod's crypt anyway, against UWx ctrl we have Torpor orb already, against storm it may be needed but with eidolon (and maybe skab-clan) do we need GY hate. Then there's BGx (shrinking goyfs) and also stoping zombie fish/tasigur being cast early. Coco decks present a need for grafdiggers but does anger of the gods work as well.
Just curious as our SB slots seem quite precious and want to avoid something too narrow and that doesn't really help against our worst matchups.
Hey guys, I just got forwarded here from Facebook, at the recommendation of Darren Broit. That is my list on that http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=19755&d=327164&f=MO list. I work from home and can't exactly provide more info, but I am new here. Wish I knew more about this page, but you'll definitely see more of me. Always down to bounce ideas about this deck. This and Mono U Tron are my go to's.

hey Ray,i really love FoK. great synergy that empties hand in emergencies and great card draw the next turn. i was able to do some nice dmg on the third counter with attacking with my 1/1 Goblins (2), Chandra +1, Hazoret discard ability. opponent wasn't expecting it. was glorious. =D
i love magma jet, since it gives me the Scry and ability to hit to the face. it's quite nice finisher with FoK as well.
as for my updated list, i am gonna tweek my sideboard and take out Boil and add a second Abrade. KCI and Afinity is heavy where I'm at and the swap of MJ and Abrade is nothing significant lost while improving the match up.
i have toying around with the idea of playing Purphorus, God of the Forge, for Hazoret. the extra dmg from casting PnK (6) and Rabblemaster (2 and 4 if they let you attack)
then the pump is nice at the last second.
man, i can't wait to bounce ideas and thoughts off everyone here.
Welcome welcome to the fireside WKASA1. congrats on your first place win and interesting Choices in sideboad. Currently some of us have been using avaricious dragon to do the same thing as flame for keld for the first 2 lore counters. Maybe flame ov keld is something to test out though hmmmm....
And for Dazza0187

Who is this FADVISOR82?? how he play so good???
Whoever he is, I’ll bet he’s a financial advisor born in ‘82.
Or possibly the 82nd financial advisor ever.
So it's clear that Russ was born in 1982

Congrats!

I hear he's a scrub and just got lucky.
Also a shout out to William Asa! congratulations!
What's your 2 card difference?
