Hi guys, looking forward to getting the final stuff to build the deck. The thing is i only have 3 bridges and 2 chandra. I also don't have the eidolons but as i saw, not everyone are playing them MB. What would be a "good" replacement for the missing bridge and 2 chandra?
thank you for your help
Ps: is goblin chainwhirler really good and necessary?

If I was missing a Bridge and a couple 4-drops, I'd most definitely go heavy on the parents. They're not only good as a pseudo-Bridge defensively, but they also attack over the top to give you a way to replace the damage you're missing from not having her behind your Bridge. As far as utility goes, however. You can't replace her. Chainwhirler is a superstar, and I would suggest maindecking him as well. The Eidolons are a huge part of the sideboard strategy, I would definitely pick some up. Otherwise i would probably look at the Dragon build by Russ.

You beat me to it. I'm currently experimenting with a build that doesn't run any bridges maindeck. you could start there. Yes, chainwhirler is amazing. Just last night, one chainwhirler took out a steel overseer and a memnite. that's a 3 for 1. it's also good vs mardu pyromancer and any deck running elves. But, try my dragon stompy build from a few posts up.
I was able to get my 4th bridge a couple of minutes ago. I'll only need the chainwhirler and chandra (i'll might wait till she rotate out). I'll try a 2nd koth with mama and papa nalaar. My meta is rampant with anoying aggro decks, i think pyro prison will be the deck to help me out! Any other suggestions, tips & tricks? I've read the primer but i've never seen anyone play this deck (even though i have a lot of experience with most of the tier 1 & 2 decks)

e both try crazy things in hopes of finding something that works. We've tried Orcish Librarian, goblin charbelcher, dragons, and a bunch of other crazy ideas. Every now and then, we come across something that sticks, like ramunap ruins. (chainwhirler doesn't count. we all identifed that card as nuts when it was previewed). right now, I am experimenting with a bridgeless build. Jury is still out. why a bridgeless version? because I'm tired of keeping hands with two bridges, thinking im great, then see my opponent play a tron land and immediaetly realize I just took a mulligan to 5 and didn't even know it.
@RayStack @StickBall - thanks a lot for the input guys. Alright, maybe I'll trim some snow, but like you said and like I said, its real. Having a useless Koth Emblem is a stinker, so I'm certainly keeping some, maybe 4-6, but I'll likely trim a few to make sure my turn 2 moon goes down against a shockland, not a basic.
Interesting no Ballista. I love the Ballista, but I respect where the no Ballista team is at. I guess a Ballista on 1 and a Chainwhirler are very similar removal spells.
I also love Torpor Orb. IDK why, I think because I had bridge, moon and T-Orb down against Elves and asked him if he could win if I can cast everything - he couldn't and scooped. I was like WHOA this is the frosting on the lock cake in some match-ups - sweet. But how many of those match-ups is it really back breaking? Yeah I get it, not too many - fine.
I'm picking up the playset of Keldons, but I'm going to hold off on committing to the singleton after some more testing. I'm fairly settled in on everything - lulling over the amount of Chainwhirlers and Ballistas in the main, thinking about Dire Fleet, D-Claw/Witchbane, can I squeeze Haz in the main? Magus is likely a Bolt/Push eater, so is there justification for land destruction?
As I settle in on decisions, I'll refine my boarding/strategy plan and throw some questions/thoughts up here for feedback.
Thanks again for the input. I'm def locked in mentally to compete - "Have I played a land this turn?" opponent asks.... yes... yes you have.

Watch these guys play!! Watch hours and hours of it.. it'll make you a much better player, trust us. I had played 100's of games with this deck before they came along, and my game improved leaps and bounds watching fluffy struggle with the learning curve at first, then evolving into a great player. Russ.. he's just a wizard. We've all learned from him.
Hey, mountaineers. I've been grinding out standard with mono-red since the local meta is super vulnerable to it and I can clean up to get some store credit with little effort. It would seem the universe has decided Red and I have a thing. Not only in all three major formats of MTG, but also at stoplights! Glorious red lights, reminding me of what I do to many of my opponents when I drop a T1 Moon.
I've been reading and brewing, though. I really like the idea of Bridgeless Dragons. Sarkhan and Demanding Dragon look super fun together. I'll for sure be trying them in Standard and Modern.
Another card I am excited to try out in this deck is Dismissive Pyromancer. I know people aren't super high on rummaging effects, but if we are sitting behind a bridge passed T5 we can rummage and cast whatever we draw (assuming you exclude dragons from your 75). Additionally, he can always shoot down a <4-toughness bothersome creature. Seems decent to me.
I am also about to finish gathering the cards I would need to try the aftifact heavy version of Pyro-Prison, too. My list is pretty well settled on, but I hate swapping cards from deck to deck. I did think about trying it with a single KCI in the main and a single Banefire...maybe even 2. Figure I might as well get extra janky. With all the artifacts it runs, would it be so inconceivable to hit x=20 if you have KCI on the field? I might try some Invertors' Fairs to help search up what I need (assuming Blood Moon isnt already in play).
I found this on goldfish, I know "notsoweird" is on fluffys stream sometimes, but if you're here, I'd love to hear about how 3 Bridges felt, and also Desperate Ravings and the full play set of Bonfire.. spicy stuff. Are you here sir?

If you've been following me, you j ow I've been down on bridge lately as well. It's not good in every match and it gets drawn to your hand like a magnet whenever you play va Tron, storm, kci, and adnausem. The worst part is you don't even realize you took a mulligan. Until the game starts. You have a bridge, your good to go, then tour opponent goes, citadel, moz opal, chromatic star, rwrrian.....and that's when you reize your screwed.

Oh indeed! I always keep a double Bridge hand only to realize it's Storm. You have Dragons though. This list has siege-gang..
Modern Challenge had over a 100 people buying in at $25.00, and 'Notsoweird' pulls down a 5-2, as Caligula points out. Purty Nifty. Before explaining the designer touches within the deck, gotta ask about the avatar you use on Discord. The Pennywise Chupacabra. It freaks me out.
Dangerous Wager vs. Tormenting Voice. I just clocked in a 4-1 with my (3) Tormenting Voice Pyro Prison deck. Pretty firm on the build. I'll post it up tomorrow, before heading to FNM.
Oh, and curious to see where Butterynugs landed on his Artifact Build of PP.
A li'l different from last week's chick. This one swings. Tormenting Voice - takes some stones to play - but it allows for some skewed spell counts on staple cards and the absence of 'save' cards in lieu of the digging it provides.
Only 3 Chandra, Torch of Defiance - My 1K winning deck from a year ago also had a 3/3 split on Chandra/T.Voice || Chandras are redundant. No, that's not an ugly word! I said redundant. Redundant! Jeeeez. People are so touchy these days.
1 Sweeper: Anger of the Gods - the best one. Oh, and Goblin Ninja which slips past a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. I don't mind passing on the substandard Sweltering Suns/Slagstorm, and Ninja is just balanced but not overly impactful that I don't want to see 2. Fair to note: Ninjas are not redundant.
2 direct removal spells - Abrade. The 2 shattering spree in the sideboard complete the artifact removal suite, and more sideboard sweepers complete the spot removal needs. sidenote: this spell is a *****er to run on MTGO with replicate. Especially when they are responding with an arcbound ravager. Tips welcome.
Chandra, Flamecaller. Does a little bit of everything. Reasonably easy to toss early, and a powerhouse top deck late. Never expected. 3/1 elementals chase down planeswalkers better than Mr. Burns' hounds.
Acceleration/Mana Packages are extraordinarily varied. Naaaah, I left off the Keldon Megalith. But, the other utility cards can really click.
Sideboard: I'm firm on every card, and if I had to add a 16th? A 2nd Grafdigger's Cage.
Aaaand, Lastly, an Infuriating Story with a Happy Ending
Lastly, look at what the nonsense, rubbish ramp I faced from Green Tron last night. It should be called Four Leaf Clover Tron. The picture below is the final state of the game. The dude is on the play and mulligans to (3) cards. THREE. He drops an Urza's Tower & says pass. My hand isn't the fastest, but it's well poised to handle most oncomers. Certainly anyone with a 3 card hand, right!?
2 lands, 1 tormenting voice, 1 abrade, 1 simian spirit guide, 1 bridge, 1 goblin rabblemaster. So, he passes to me, and I snap into action. LAND - SSG - TORMENTING VOICE - discard: ENSNARING BRIDGE. Draw 2 cards. Huge. I have drawn 3 cards on my first turn, and ditched a useless bridge. It's rare that I would SSG a T. VOICE on Turn 1, but it's marvelous that the option is there for occasions like this.
The rest of the story can be seen in the screen shot. He ramps into Tron, drops a Ballista on 3. Ballista gets abraded, so it shoots Rabblemaster and a Gobbo. I never draw a single spell in the whole game. Just land and ritual and land and land and land.... He drops Karn. He drops Newlamog. All of which is done with precision accuracy, on curve, from a 3 card hand. When I have the time to tune in on the mountainfolk play, I marvel at the calm of Fluffywolf when he faces bad luck.
The good news? I Eidolon / Scab-Clan games 2 and 3 into victory. Eidolon turn 1 in game 2 and Scabby turn 1 in game 3.
Blood hand might work for pushing the last bits of damage through, but it's awfully inefficient and I'd probably want a Chainwhirler or a sweeper for 3 mana. Just the added utility makes Slagstorm better imo, even though it cant hit walkers, and most of us have turned away from that.
Brimstone Volley is going to be tough to trigger, and I'm not sure we really need to deal 5 AFTER killing another creature.. I think we're probably better off with Abrade in that spot. Or Glorybringer. He's probably the best option for what you're looking for.
Lightning Storm would be great if we could draw more cards. But unfortunately I don't think we can hold enough lands to make it worthwhile. Even late-game I can't imagine getting it past 7, while 7 for 3 mana is great, I think it would end up as an expensive Lightning Bolt most of the time.
We all want to find our Fiery Confluence, so let us know if any of these work well for You!
Wins were against Jeskai, Esper Reanimator, and Jeskai. I was 6-0 going into the final round, and then U/R Kiki-Jiki got me on nutted draws. This exposed my weakness: only 2 abrade for immediate spot removal. Nonetheless - no changes to the deck for next week.
Particularly against Jeskai, Tormenting Voice rang through the mountain range true and clear. When I'd play it out, I jestfully did a fishing rod casting motion like I was trying to bait out a counterspell. Chuckles ensued, but no counter. So, I was able to fortify.
I might as well have shouted Aaaaaaaaaaaflaaaaaaac!
there goes of the taste of each one, for example you spoke of inefficiency now answer me you use a creature of power 4 in a deck that has 4 bridges is efficient? to use the cage that is cost 1 on a deck that what I do on average is chalice for one, is it efficient?
I'm suggesting cards that can mostly help in the removal of planeswalker, it's not just a rest of damage.

We run a bunch of non-bos in this deck, but there's a difference between anti-synergy and inefficiency.. playing Glorybringer or Cage while running Bridge or Chalice has it's drawbacks, but for the most part, you can play around them post-side. Having a 3 mana spot removal spell, even for walkers, just isn't a card I think we can fit. Most of the time we can deal with walkers with creatures, and the rest of the time we need to get underneath and win (or close) before they come down. Against Jund is an example of when this might not be the case. Glorybringer is the card you want to draw because it's evasive pressure, a fast clock AND a 2 for 1. Unless we get a really flexible burn spell, I don't think the 3 mana ones are playable.
What walkers are making you feel you need a burn spell to deal with them?

drawbacks ??? you can play around them post-side ??? ... that's not what we want, at least that's not what I want. I just want to eliminate the disadvantages of the deck; Against the jund I do not want to draw glorybringer, play glorybringer having 4 bridges on the deck does not make sense, is illogical, I can not take the bridges from the deck having tarmogoyf threatening me. Do you want to know how jund wins? simple exile all the grave, you not only win the jund, as mardu pyromancer, hollow one, storm, jeskai, grixis, griselshoal, dredge, bant knightfall, DS,ironworks combo, anyway... I've already said it about 3 times, I found a card at least similar to relic of the progenitus that can assist in this: Crook of Condemnation ... do you want to put glorybringer on the deck? Ok put it, but understand that the deck that you play with glorybringer is not the prison is something like skred in that you can control the board and impose with your creatures.
thank you for your help
