Making our goblin tokens 0/1s doesn't seem horrible, we lose a few points of damage but it still pumps rabblemaster and really we would only bring this in against burn, storm and mardu pyromancer which are 3 iffy matchups
Hey guy !!! if we have archenemies these are jund and mardu pyromancer kkkkk ...
the mardu as I posted before, chainwhirler and tormod's crypt very much balance the game, but the jun has still given me a headache.
Has anyone tested the dire fleet daredevil against jund? Yesterday I saw a friend play with dire fleet daredevil on the side of humans against jund and he used it I found interesting, but still not convinced me, I need more tests. Also need to see if a second hazoret would be better.
in 15 days I will be going to the GP, I need to close this sideboard, close the game plan and the side plan, at first this is my deck, with the exception of chabelcher: http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=19453&d=324198&f=MO

You know what's good against Jund? and Humans? and Mardu Pyromancer? Dragon. Bring the glory baby! I'm currently back to the dragon as a way to answer all that, have a good clock vs control (Jeskai and UR....he's bolt proof, helix proof, and electrolyze proof). I like dragon over Koth and P&K, but doing so requires some adjustments. You are going to need a 22nd land, so take out a ritual. If you go dragon route, then you will probably not be playing Koth, so in the dragon build, I like the full set of ramunap ruins. I'm still working on a list, but this is kinda where my head is at right now. Thursday night modern coming up and I wpul;d have streamed this last night, but I had exactly one viewer yesterday on twitch and he wanted to see me mill people out, which I happily did. I probably won't be streaming for several days, as wednesday is usually TV night with wife and thursday I'm out in paper.
If I had to play in an event tomorrow, this is what i'd bring:
I'm also considering adding some number of damping sphere to help with the tron/storm matches. Those are getting more popular and we need a better plan vs them. I know i've said damping sphere was bad in the past, but note that tron has completely shifted to mono green, it's worse for us. the multi color tron decks use things like bolts and fatal push to stall while they get tron online, but these mono green tron lists aren't messing around. They are all business, so I was thinking either a damping sphere for a cage or 2 damping sphere for a cage and/or a spellskite? I think taking out a spellskite for a damping sphere is the right call. Cage is SO GOOD when it's good, I think you really want two. Damping Sphere gives us one more lock piece vs both, so having one is probably the right call. I don't know. Maybe you just hope to dodge tron all together. Anyway, this is list I would run if I were playing in an event tomorrow. It's exactly like the list Matt and I played during SCGCon, only we took out the koth and P&K for two dragons. We also went back to two shattering spree in the board because of KCI, Tron, and affinity becoming more popular.
I don't know about that Caligula.....I think I can hear Russ's thinking gears turning already. Filter - Mana - Dragonnnnnnssssss
Speaking of Dragons, I included one in my (75) yesterday and nailed down a 5-0 in the MTGO Modern Challenge - Competitive. It didn't get published since Chekmate (Hatch22) also went 5-0, so we tripped over each other as a duplicate report. I put a screen shot of my winnings below as an attachment.
Actually, our main decks were almost identical (only 1 land difference) - sideboards were different by 4 cards. The deck lists are pretty 'stock', but I did clue in one of Chekmate's signature designs: (2) Koth of the Hammer in the main deck. Lately, I have been running pretty diversified land bases, so I had to eliminate Koth from my (75). This time I brought THE Hammer back to defeat: Humans / Goblins / Burn / Elves / Green Tron.
Also, since I'm running so high on my mountain count, why not take advantage by adding a......dragon. Now, I can hear Fluffy perking up. But, nope, not your typical breed of dragon. This particular dragon ain't been seen around these parts in a loooooong time. Not Glory. Not Stormbreath. But, Kargan. Kargan Dragonlord
Just one in the side to bolster up the aggro transition. Some would argue for Scab-clan berserker or a 5-cmc dragon in this slot, but Kargan drops earlier, trades in combat for removal, or grows, or drops later in the game as a mountain-fisted uppercut. He definitely won me a game against Goblins that neither berserker or a big dragon would have helped in. Kargan is a curve, finesse play. Perhaps a new friend to Sarkhan, Fireblood??
Hey stibalruss !! I do not know how Glorybringer can be good against jund, nor does he even kill the tarmogoyf. Our deck has all the pieces (except tribal) for the goyf to arrive at its maximum power (land, creature, sorcery, instant, planeswalker, enchantment and artifact). The best way to deal with goyf is by exiling the cemeteries, why it gets 0/1 and the anger or slagstorm does the rest of the service. Relic of the progenitus was ideal, of course to use relic against the decks, the problem is that I will usually do chalice for 1. Severe removal is good against several decks, jund, abzan, mardu, dregde, storm , jeskai, grixis, hollow one and so on. I think it should go by this tangent, I think more logical.

Glorybring kills lily AND a creature in the same turn. It can also kill goyf the same way you described. Instead of exiling a graveyard and comboing that with a kill spell, you deal 4 to the goyf then abrade, slagstorm, or chanrda it away. It's definitely better than the other options while providing a body that can't be bolted, pushed, decayed, or k commanded.
I don't know about that Caligula.....I think I can hear Russ's thinking gears turning already. Filter - Mana - Dragonnnnnnssssss

So you dropped two slagstorms for another abrade and a koth. I like it.
Yes, my gears are turning. I think the new planeswalker definetly replaceses tormenting voice in case we want to go back to that route. right now, the two dragons are going to in my deck until further notice. I've been HATING slagstorm lately and looking for things to replace it with. that 2cc dragon is an option. I want something that can end the game, so I don't think I'm in the market for another abrade. it would fit the new planeswalker theme....maybe just throw two of the new planeswalker in there instead of slagstorm. I really dislike planeswalkers that don't protect themselves. He's not good and I don't think replacing interactive spells with a planeswalker that doesn't interact will be good.
Now, did we all miss the goblin lord? The 4 mana, all goblins get +1/+1, sacrifice a goblin, DESTROY TARGET ARTIFACT?!?!?! now this card has potential. it's 4 mana, so you don't want a lot, but as a random one of, it could be useful. we definitely want to test this.
Ray, how has Dire fleet Daredevil been working for you? And how has the mini dragon been? I see that sideboard and need to know if they did any work? I see we abandoned ship on the cages and shattering spree/abrade and we're back on witchbane orb. also, Nicely done on the 5-0. Going infinite....lets do this!
Nice work, Ray! That's a bummer that we had some overlap there Your list looks sweet, your sideboard is so spicy! How did the twin Koths feel for you? I've had times where a Pia & Kiran Nalaar would have been better, but the times where I get down a turn 1 or 2 Koth and get to ult range before my opponent can react really tips the scales for me.
@Stickballruss: The 'good' thing about Sarkhan is that he's so 'bad'. Is anyone going to waste removal on him until his loyalty hits 7? The filter is unfortunately backward: gotta discard first. How many times will you end up trading down? Slagstorm is definitely an antique these days. Lastly, Damping Sphere. Originally, I thought - like you - that it's kind of redundant plus it hurts our rituals. But, you're right on how it can really really punish Storm, Tron, and KCI (?). Fluffy has been onto the Orb for awhile. I think I will add one in place of....hmmmm, maybe spellskite?? The skite was there for death's shadow decks and Jund. Also, arcbound ravager (obv. bogles & infect & burn), but lately it's just a little too winmore? Funny, how we flip flop on so many cards. It's friggen tough being a sideboard deck that runs another sideboard!
@Chekmate: The double HAMMER is so aggressive. Pushes the 4-cmc count to (7) cards in the main which means pyretic ritual is pretty much needed. The random number generator of MTGO is goddamned infuriating. I can't believe how many ALL Land / NO Land hands I get. It's one of the reasons I started to champion Tormenting Voice again. But, this build just says Go Big. As you know, shared deck The Koths do come out a fair amount, but we can't underestimate the importance of a Game 1 Card vs. a Game 2/3 Card.
As for Dire Fleet Daredevil. Yes. Very good. I'll highlight the least appreciated element of her: First Strike. We've seen in Goblin Chainwhirler how that can freeze an attack from an opponent: They have 2 middlings and we have 1 first striker. That's it: stalemate. Otherwise, I've also said that Dire Fleet Daredevil is our Snapcaster Mage. And, we are bringing the wily pirate in to face decks which both A.) give us problems and B.) have plenty of tasty flashback options in their graveyard. Best of all, DFD has first strike and will often see Snappy, last strike, across the battlefield. Consider this grand slam play, He has (1) Snapcaster Mage and a Vendilion Clique on the board, I play out a Daredevil and target Electrolyze. I cast it into exile, and kill both creatures as well as draw a card. That's a 4-for-1.
Guys, we have now our solution vs. Control...lightning mare. 3:1 for only 2 red mana, cant be countered, cant be Blocked by blue creatures and become +1/0 each time you pay 2 until end of turn. This From Side and bye all blue mages

If it didn't die to every single removal spell known to man, it would be gteat. Not being able to be blocked by snapcaster mage could be relevant.
Rabblemaster dies too and we play it. Now we have so many creatures for agro, it should be easy to switch after side. I will use this for sure and kill them fast
RAY. Small bit of correction that kargan Dragonlord is not an actual dragon. But he does seem like a nice bit of spice.
Russ beat me to the punch about the new goblin lord it seems like the answer we want versus KCI or affinity and I could see it being slotted into the SB.
MTGtheWary, The main problem with the mare is Jeskai is the premier control deck these days and it does to bolt. (Not that I dont lovr me a sweet horse)
Eidolon, rabblemaster each if them dies vs. Bolt...no reason for me. Dont forget our chalices too. Sometimes we habe chalice out but cant play our creatures because they countered them...now horse after chalice is great too

When eidolon dies to bolt, it does at least two damage. Sometimes you can deploy a rabblemaster when they are tapped out and it leaves behind a goblin or two. when horse dies to bolt,it does nothing. all the incremental value is a thing.
Side note, has anyone thought about swapping out slagstorms for hammer of borgadan? vs control, this could be a house! it can also target planeswalkers and give you an alternate win condition from behind a bridge, especially if your Fluffywolf or Ray and draw everyland in your deck after deploying a moon or a bridge. I might have to revisit that idea.
thanks Bludlust!!! You have also done a great job and have helped us.

When do we sideboard in Dire Fleet Daredevil? Obviously any deck that runs Abrupt Decay, Cryptic Command, Kolaghan's Command, Lightning Helix, or Maelstrom Pulse will see a Daredevil in games 2/3.
As I see it, Dire Fleet Daredevil comes in against the following decks:
If it didn't die to every single removal spell known to man, it would be gteat. Not being able to be blocked by snapcaster mage could be relevant.
