I've been having problems with my meta right now having to face Junk more often than not. Here is my current sideboard and what I use against then.
My sideboard
1 thougtseize
4 fulminator mages
2 anger of the gods
2 spellskite
1 izzet staticaster
1 jace Aot
1 keranos
1 flashfreeze
2 dispel
This is how I board for the abzan battles
-4 lightning bolt
-1 gurmag angler (I have 3mainboard)
-1 thoughtscour
-1 mana leak
-1 v.clique
+4 fulminator mages
+1 staticaster
+1 jace Aot
+1 keranos
Am I boarding properly or are there hard and fast rules I'm breaking?
Second, Is my sideboard obsolete? I don't see Jace or sometimes even spellskites in the SB anymore. A little help on tha area too would help. Thanks!
Round 1 - RB Goblins
Round was against a newer player, he is pretty good for a for someone his age but is went down pretty much like you would expect.
2-0
Round 2 - Merfolk
This was not a match I was looking forward to. I managed to win game one by drawing all my lightning bolts and blowing out a few of his attacks. Lose game 2 to an explosive start on his part and a slow hand on mine. Game three was pretty close then I landed Olivia and she just took over the board.
2-1
Round 3 - Storm
This kid has been doing really well with storm at our store for a couple of weeks now. Unfortunately for him I played storm for over a year when I first got into modern so I know the decks weak spots; I lost the first game to a boneheaded mistake, then games 2 and 3 were pretty lop sided once I boarded in more countermagic and hand attack
2-1
Round 4 - Mono-Blue Tron
Game one was pretty textbook. Cheap threats supported by a ton of countermagic.
Pretty similar to the first game but I got to destroy his mana base with Fulminators and Kommands.
2-0
Overall I was really happy with deck (but I'm always happy to beat Merfolk), although I still can't make up my mind if the MB Archmage is correct or not.

In play: Jund Death Shadow, Grixis Control, Eldrazi Stompy, Ponza
In the yard: RUG Delver, Kiki-Chord, Grixis Twin, Mardu Control, Smallpox, Jeskai Control, Jeskai Delver, Assault Loam, Elves, Deathcloud, Eggs, Storm
What is the game plan against Tron? I run a list similar to the stock list. If I get a good start with an early delve creature or Fulminators it seems possible, but with a resolved Emrakul it doesn't seem like there is much to do. My meta commonly has Twin, Affinity, Delver, Merfolk and RG Tron, the sideboard at the moment is:
4 Fulminator Mage
3 Dispel
2 Anger of the Gods
1 Countersquall
1 Languish
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Izzet Staticaster
1 Flashfreeze
1 Keranos, God of Storms
You want to board in:
+ 4 Fulminator Mages
+ 1 Countersquall
You will want to board out:
- 1 Dispel
- 2 Spell Snare
- 2 Terminate
If you had them I would also say:
+ Any Discard you might have (helps against early tron set-up and choke)
+ Olivia (She can nab Wurmcoils in the late game)
- more removal or bolts but that depends on what your flex spots are

I'll be testing it out, but it seems like a much more reliable way to neuter go-wide strategies than Illness in the Ranks or Izzet Staticaster. I know the Staticaster is the more popular card for this effect, but having something that hits all creatures as opposed to those that share names seems really nice, and the reduction of power impacts matchups like Twin as well. I also like that it can't be killed by removal like the Staticaster.
I would love to see you cast Staticaster in real life versus Bogles.
I have been running one main in place of Remand since I picked up the deck and I have pretty much always been happy to see it. I also run one in the board instead of Negate.

I have been reading along for quite some time and I have been testing Ashiok in the main deck for a little now. I like him. My list is more or less Chapin's one. Do you think it is good enough to be the card for the flex slot? Since I have picked up the deck only recently, I am not too familiar with it yet and could use advice
Ashiok is straight for a flex spot. I consider it to be an Olivia who's easier to start pulling bodies with. Ashiok is great if you're in an aggro heavy meta, but the matches she's horrible in, she's really bad. I'd give Ash I try though. I've been considering making it sideboard tech, it's a good card in a lot of situations.
This is the worst kind of discussion to have. Just saying that a card is bad with no follow up, reasons why or evidence and then refusing to defend your assertion is, to put it quite frankly, stupid. If you cannot contribute to the discussion in meaningful ways, I'd ask that you refrain from joining the conversation to begin with.
Did you even look at the full discussion? Jesus H. Christ people I said that Oona's Grace isn't as good as Desolate lighthouse because the land slot in the deck is a little more flexible than the deck slots. How is that not contributing wtf.... Just because I didn't use a full sentence doesn't mean a dam thing.
No idea what the SB is supposed to look like right now, especially at a large event. Will update when I start messing around with the build.
Looks like kind of a hybrid between Control and Delver. Not sure that I really like that mix. I'd recommend pushing towards one of the archetypes more heavily. Also Serum Visions is essentially irreplaceable in the deck. The only reason the deck can get away with running 22 lands is because it can use Serum Visions to set up draws in advance so that we hit our land drops in the early turns. Not running Visions is going to seriously hurt you.

Nah. I've played Serum Visions for literally the existence of this deck and it's pretty terrible. I get that you want to "hit land drops" with the card but it's horrifically clunky, makes your counters inefficient, and interacts poorly with 8 fetches. Obviously, you're going to have slightly greater issues with this when you're dropping Serum Visions but Thought Scour is the much better one drop cantrip for the deck. Serum Visions is there since people have been assuming they have to play it (which is possibly the case) but I'm testing Probe to see if it can replace it. At least with Probe you can set up your future counters and play it for free while leaving up Mana Leak, Terminate, etc.
Of course, I could be wrong but I've been pretty unhappy with Serum Visions in general. It's painful to play on turn 1 and inefficient to play after t1 as it gets in the way of your counters and removal.

I agree, not running Serum Visions is definitely bizarre. I've always felt the card is even worth running in some UWR lists where it's near sacrilege apparently, it's usually the best thing to do on T1 and it's the best card to draw in late game top decks.
There is merit for Young Pyromancer though, the card can just run away with games. It gives the deck a little more aggression and threat density, the card advantage and chump blockers should help against Jund and the speed will be nice against Tron. This "slightly bigger than Delver without Delver" approach is a deckbuilding space that Shaun McClaren sees, I would start with this as my first draft:

Some of the Grixi Delver players are discussing to cut the Pyro's because they think in this meta they are not performing very well. Looking at this list you are just cutting Delver and adding basically lands and Cryptic Command. Do you think that's good? I mean... of course Cryptic is a hell of a card, but maybe mixing th two decks like this you ain't gonna get the best of them.
Yeah, that Shawn Mclaren list is awful (there is almost nothing 'bigger' in his list save one Cryptic), and it is INCREDIBLY weak to any kind of sweeper which is popular right now because of all of the Merfolk running around. Also, I fully disagree about turn 1 SV being the best thing you can do, it's one of three things you can do (the other two being Scour or bolt), and on the draw it is certainly the worst option of the three. Visions isn't a good card and doesn't interact favorably with the rest of the deck - we just use it because it smooths the draws - I look forward to hearing from people who test something else in it's place.
Can we have a serious talk about Merfolk? That deck is AWFUL to play against, Harbinger of the Tides COMPLETELY wrecks delve creatures and I'm not terribly sure what to do about it. I played in an SCG IQ and my first round was against UW Fish - Cursecatcher, Path, and Harbinger DESTROYED me and I never felt like I had any real shot at the match. Anyone have any tips or is this that one deck we just hope to avoid? I'd rather play Tron than Fish. It should be noted, I don't think the problem is aggro (in the IQ I beat burn and Zoo handily), the problem is their tempo elements go WAY underneath us.

I guess I can try to ignite some conversation here given the topics at hand.
The merfolk match up. Sadly... we just can't win every match up... I think the ONLY way to even stand a chance is to get underneath of them early. I feel there is room for some evolving of the deck since Chapin breathed new life into it. We know our match ups.. and ALL stream lined strategies, (Mono color decks) Just out pace us. Personally, in my little experience and taking into account my local meta. I play against Tron, and mono coloured / tribal decks. There are some tokens players but I haven't had to play against that yet. Any other deck that shows up I feel comfortable playing against.
I think definitely MB sweepers are a fine inclusion right now.
And Molten Vortex Was a HOUSE for me out of the SB vs. Fish and Affinty. Like I said.. I REALLY REALLY want this deck to have a GREAT one drop incase my opening hand isn't turn 2 tasigur. and RIGHT NOW... I think it's a good card that turns off a lot of our weaker matchups abilities to go wide on us so fast.

I've had similar experience with the deck. I've replaced a Terminate with a Go For The Throat to potentially hit Master of Waves. Engineered Explosives are really important in the board if you want to combat this deck properly, I think. EE on 2 can clear their Spreading Seas and most of their creatures. I could honestly see playing 2 Engineered Explosives in the sideboard, along with Pyroclasm/Anger of the Gods and Languish/Damnation.
