There is no esper control in the metagame breakdown, so either what he's playing is mis-labeled, or he's playing a different color combination.
My bet is on miracles, but I dont think we know.
Jeskai Draw-Go, he experimented it last couple of years. No more love for Esper it seems : chosed Jeskai and even Grixis in the latest lists over Esper.
Ironically, Electrolyze is my LEAST favorite card in Jeskai, and the main draw to the color combo imo is Helix -- which Wafo was playing none of and 4 Elyze. But secondly, Azcanta is probably the best card in Jeskai, so I would never play a list without it -- of course this list is playing none of that too. I would absolutely play any Esper list posted by a user here over this Jeskai list.
I think playing Fatal Push for earlier removal and Esper Charm for value is way better than playing 4 Electrolyze in your deck tbh.,I'd even play a few Agony Warp or Collective Brutality or something.

I'm willing to bet you wouldn't in a competitive tournament.

Wouldn't do which part? Play Esper? I've taken Esper to an open and a PPTQ, and if I were to attend a major tournament right now, I'd would definitely be on Esper. As for playing Brutality/Warp for early removal with upside, it'd be better than splashing red JUST for ELyze. So yeah, I'd do either before playing that list. =D
hey, so I have been off the salvation sites for a while, but been chugging away at relearning my esper roots after a long time on the jeskai train, made a esper miracles and went 5-0 in my first league, it is the power of terminus in a esper shell
I plan to run it thru a few more leagues and refine the list some but overall it felt pretty solid
Sweet. That is very similar to what I am hoping to run this weekend at PPTQ. I think the biggest weakness of pure UW is the lack of card velocity and esper charm is the best one available (and it does so much more)
How many counterspells are you guys running ? I'm at 11 right now : 4 Cryptic, 2 Spell Snare, 2 Mana Leak, 2 Logic Knot, 1 Negate. Running 6 spot removal and 3 board wipe.

I'm on 3 Cryptic, 3 Knot, 1 Negate, 1 Remand, 1 Spell Snare, so 9 total. My removal is 4 Path, 1 Push, 2 Blessed Alliance, 1 DSphere, 2 Verdict, 1 Wrath, 1 Settle/Terminus/Day of Judgement (haven't decided yet), so 12.
I think I'll go down to 9 counterspells and stay at 9 removal. I'll cut 2 Mana Leak for 2 Search for Azcanta. The deck might feel smoother I guess without having too much air. I'll have 2 Secure the Wastes probably too. I'm cutting Sphinx's Revelation because it's too slow right now.
I faced RG Scapeshift, Ad Nauseam and Soul Sisters. So far, 2 Secure the Wastes has been amazing to shore up aggro matchups and to win the game out of nowhere. Also, 9 counterspells feels fine. 2 Search for Azcanta has been way superior to what I have expected. I bought the cards last week I think and the deck really feels smoother with them. I'm having less problems finding cards. I do not miss the singleton Sphinx's Revelation. However, I was thinking about Ancestral Vision tough.
I've been playing uw miracles a bit and wondering if adding Esper charm and push could work, or put differently play Esper control with an opt and terminus package. You basically trade a field of ruin or two and a few points of life to add black, you replace some of espers think twice or serums for opts.
For example the list two posts up we just go minus four serum plus four opt, three verdict and a spell snare for terminus, maybe find room for a third Jace. It depends entirely on if terminus is good or not, but I've found in miracles it's very good, the problem is when it's not good the deck sputters. Esper charm discard mode might help those times.

I was more looking at the discard mode in charm vs bad uw matches like storm or burn. Yeah it can draw too and maybehit a terminus (or awkwardly draw it as the second card). You're right tho that with Jace teferi search think twice and av it's a tough sell to muck with the manabase just for the ability to mind rot eot. Push would be a bit better than oust or condemn imo.
But I mean, this whole thread exists pretty much for Esper charm and push. To the extent you want to play Esper, does terminus package make any sense (over verdict basically)
You have enough CA. Mostly, I would play the fourth cc2 counterspell, given you’re somehow soft to planeswalkers in the mirror (not running D-Sphere or Bolt). Lily is well handled by Secure. You can cut either the fourth Cryptic or go down a land.
Thanks for the input ! I feel the 75 is has stock as possible for me. Only Celestial Purge could fit in because I'm soft to planeswalker yes, but Secure the Wastes helps for that !
About UW vers Esper, I feel that UW is more clunky, but Esper feels so smooth with 4 Charm, 2 Azcanta, 2 Jace and 4 Serum (it could be Opt too). When I play UW, games tend to go out long enough (more like +15 turns), it's exhausting, but Esper is pretty quick when I play it (I either win or lose in less than 12 turns usually).
I will say that esper miracles isn't as bad as it sounds. Whether or not its better than straight UW is unclear, but it does have an advantage. UW doesn't actually have a ton of real card advantage.
Bad, if you're not on the discord, I'd suggest joining, as much of the discussion that once took place on this thread is now moved there. I posted an esper miracle list a month or so ago there as well.
