Anyways, I'm sorry for the long, jumbled post. I lurk a lot of threads on here but rarely post, but after my two successful weeks finishing in the money, plus my absolute enjoyment of the deck, I wanted to share. Now I'm very much strongly considering buying a playset of Twin in the event that it ever gets unbanned. I was so sad coming back to Modern after my 3-4 year break and seeing my favorite enchantment banned
I dont know how you can play KiKi, and I mean no offense, I just pulled it out to see if its how I remember...literally unplayable to me. I am beyond tilted over how its so poor, and we are expected to play it instead of Twin, as we should be able to.
Alright, this is what feels most correct to me, not much of a departure but I'm happy with this sideboard, and Jace wins games, funny what just Brainstorm would do to Modern..but alas.
The only adjustment to the board would be finding a spot for Keranos, but if there is anything glaringly wrong here?
2 Tormod's Crypt - All the GY Filth right now. Even stuff like Eternal Command is still play.
2 Ceremonious Rejection - Affinity, KCI, Tron
1 Disdainful Stroke - Tron, Prime Time, Teferi..UWx, lots of stuff.
2 Damping Sphere - Tron, Amulet, Storm
1 Roast - BGx, Thought-Knot Seer, Creature Decks
2 Dispel - Control, Burn
2 Spell Snare - BGx, Hollow One, Dredge, UWR, Burn...
3 Anger of the Gods - Dredge, GW Counters, Elves, 1 Drop Zoo
I've tried them all, I'm not huge on Illumination like LSV seems to be in UWR, but I had one Chemisters Insight instead of a Cryptic and it was ok, but just ok, nothing huge, the Cantrips + Thing interaction is more important to me. Crackling Drake was pretty awesome, and may be the better option honestly, but the 'bounce your team after I blocked a few turns' is really important in a lot of match ups, and Drake is a Turn 4 play at best.
Its very good though, I enjoyed Tiemuuu's video on Youtube with it.

Back to Thing Control for me I guess.
Well, tbf, the last time I played twin was Jeskai twin back when Gatecrash just released. Sold out of magic shortly thereafter. While I know he's bad, I guess I've been so far removed from real twin that this list still scratches my itch lol. I'll keep wishing though!
I've been watching a new-ish streamer on Twitch, JacobCumiskey. He's a Blue Moon player and during November he's trying all sorts of UR builds to find the list that give him the best results. Figured I'd plug him since he's new but has an awesome attitude and solid gameplay. So far I saw him stream TiTi (4-1), my Kiki list (4-1) and he's also played madcap, UR faeries, and right now he's streaming breach.
Edit* Here's the link https://www.twitch.tv/jacobcumiskey
This is my first endeavor into the Blue Moon archetype. I'm building this for a friend to play, but I'll be switching between it and my Cruel Ultimatum deck once in a while.
I have a third Blood Moon in the sideboard since I couldn't think of a 15th card off the top of my head, and I figured there's some matches where you'd like a third for consistency sake. I have Keranos over Vendilion Clique for no particular reason, mostly since i wanted to play a control based game. I've heard of people running Docent of Perfection, and as a huge, huge, huge fan of Delver of Secrets, I might try that. Has anyone seen a list with that guy?
Let me know what you think, or if something should be changed or tweaked.
If the modern gp isn't enough to satisfy you, I'm streaming the modern challenge, currently 3-1: https://www.twitch.tv/tiemuuuu
I'll later upload a recording to youtube where the time between rounds will be cut.
I've tried that build in the past as well. I really liked it, but I ran into the problem of not being able to flip thing. Still, having the opp bank on killing our Thing just to Breach them feels nice.

I have not cut anything from the normal Thing Control deck, so flipping isnt a concern for me. Looks like I went down to 21 lands though, probably need to go up to 22...
Very far removed from anything I've played I'm afraid.
I had another 3-1, and my loss was again to Tron. I dont know what I'm supposed to do about this deck. I loathe it, but I'm unwilling to play anything but this, for long.
At least I got a 1-2 this time, but yeah, just unbearable deck to play against. Its at least a 60-40 in their favour, am I missing something? I dont know.
If you hate losing to Tron, there is this card called Spreading Seas that you omitted from your list. And it is quite a good card in other matchups as well.
Drake has been fantastic in most MUs, but the utility Thing gives us is too important. The ability to bounce opponents' creatures is very valuable against various archetypes, even stuff like KCI where opponents will board in Sai which can be tough to deal with efficiently. I might play a second drake if I find a decent cut.
