you spelled telling time wrong its called anticipate
I feel if you want to play bskull play a split Mage / Fabricate since you can go turn 4 fabricate into bskull is a very powerfull play.
3 TFK is a mistake you allways want to play 4 one of the most powerfull if not THE MOST powerfull spell in the deck.
Apart from that the list in itself makes sense even tho I am not a fan of 1 minslaver / TKS / 1 Chalice / Gifts
which is preference.
First of all, tnks for ur observation. Surely You are more competent than me in this deck. So, you are suggesting me to play 1x of Treasure Mage and 1x of Fabricate? If it is like this I can for sure try, even because I was thinking about it.
Futhermore, concerning Gifts ungiven, I am quite sure that is a great card if in the same deck you play also noxious revival, otherwise in U-tron wouldn't be so exiting.
Then I discovered after have posted here the deck that anticipate is quite better than telling time, so I will even change this in my deck.
Last but not the least, regarding TFK: I partially agree with you. I am a fan of the card, but testing it on the internet I saw that sometimes I am in a situation in which i have to discard 2 important cards; I know that it really helps milling the deck, but in some cases I had to decide to play or anticipate or TFK and I prefered Anticipate (telling time, without any regret!! Discarding an artifact most of the time means to discard a closing opportunity, at least in this deck.
If discarding is a concern for you, may I suggest that you run 1-of old Emrakul? You can discard it to thirst and get your whole yard back!
Cyclonic Rift is a bit of a fun of, it is powerful when you have the mana and functional when you don't but definately worse than repeal most of the time.
manabase: i wouldn't go below 23 lands.. talisman of progress: i feel 3 is the sweet spot, though 2 is justifiable.. platinum angel: 3 is waaaay too many bro, trust me; 1 copy is really all you need..even most versions of "protect the queen" builds use only 3, but then i don't advocate that build b'coz i'm not a fan of it.. solemn simulacrum: i am still on the sad robot train despite most seem to have moved to TKS..i feel 1-2 copies is fine, its still good vs mid-range, 3 seems incorrect nowadays because tapping out for it is usually not what you really want to be doing in this aggro infested meta.. treasure mage: same with the angel and the talisman, 4 is just too many..i would say 2-3 copies of any combination of mage/fabricate works best..
as an additional comment; i used to not be a fan of maindecking chalices and removal spells like dismember and special concoction; but creature decks make up most of modern right now so perhaps running some of them in the main might be the right call..

I had the chance to play at the SCG modern regionals event in SoCal this weekend (237 players). I ended up just missing the cut at ninth place. Here's what I was workin with.
Gr Tron: 0-2
Jund: 2-0
Eldrazi Tron: 2-1
Kiki Chord: 2-1
DNT: 2-1
Bant Humans: 1-2
Gr Tron: 2-0
Sun and Moon: 2-0
Naya Thune Chord: 2-0
Quick notes:
There was a LOT of Tron in the room. Torrential gearhulk was a house. I ended up using everything in my board except hurkyll's. Spell snare was usually good, but found I boarded it out relatively frequently. This is the first time in a while having the chalices out of the main and it felt good.
I know Pierakor and others say they play spreading seas for tron, but what do you guys think of shifting borders (do you think more crucibles is just better?)
a few modern events are coming up soon where I live and with the probe banning u tron seems alot better in the metagame.
The two main things I was wondering is how you guys feel vs RG Valakut, and if you feel chalice is worth it vs junk because it stops path.
I will post a list soon, still working on one for the current metagame
I also see most people have cut their sundering titans
To see the world in a grain of sand, and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hands, and eternity in an hour. - William Blake
It was not delight, not wonder that arose among us, it was the peace of heaven. He who has thought most deeply loves what is most alive. - Friedrich Holderlin
I feel like trinket mage is too slow, treasure mage is fine since he has so much more flexibility. finding only the ballista/one/zero drops seems like not enough to warrant a specific tutor, I'd rather run fabricate if you want something to find the ballista. I feel like if ballista is so good we always want to find it then wed be better off running 2-4 of them rather than a clunky mage that finds them.
however if anyone as been testing the ballista id be interested to hear how its working for you, I can't imagine it being great right now, it would be best vs infect/affinity of course. might be interesting to try out but I feel like oblivion stone is just better for what it does. killing manlands/being cheaper seem to be what it has going for it, but stone just seems overall better

good stuff. 7-2 is what i'd expect with those matches, maybe 8-1. humans can be quite fast/hard for us from my experience, and tron is well, tron. hit or miss.
yeah, i cant get behind using hurkyl's , its so narrow (2 decks)... i dont think the affinity match is bad enough to require specific cards 50/50, and lantern control should be a cake walk. 90/10
i played in baltimore regionals and didnt see much tron there at all, many many 3 color control/ midrange decks. (i was piloting bant eldrazi and went 7-2)... didnt play u tron cause i wasnt feeling it after waking up at 6am and having to play 9 rounds. :/
Sounds like we need to practice some more Der fiend... Maybe I'll start streaming beginner tutorials for you . Like turn 1, play a land. Turn 2 play a land. Things of that nature . Just so you can get acclamated with the modern world.
77 percent match win rate over 100 matches is disgusting .. Not sure how we can keep this pace up but there is a standard set now ..
Let me say that I consider myself a hard control player, so my favourites deck's are cruel control (Grixis with ultimatum) and the Utron....Enough introduction.
Lately I've been testing this list (with very good results) and really want to know what you think about it...
¿What's the new stuff? well metallurgic summonings gives me a new air for this deck I feel that casting a condescend or a repeal with this machine on board it's really sweet
Please check the list, test it if you like (Cockatrice works for me now) and let me know what you think!
Tron is very popular in my area and particularly Mono U Tron. One player here has been doing good from the Aether Revolt update and added Planar Bridge to the deck, and damn, it is really good.
Has anyone else seen this used and/or trying it out as well? I've even seen Disallow used as well, is a pretty powerful counter spell.
first of, you defenitly need at least one more academy ruins and some more mindslaver to get the combo going and win right on the spot with those 2 cards.
personally anticipate isnt good enough for modern so you should change that for either a bether spell serum visions or just take it out.
i know its expensive but you should defenitly get a crucible of worlds as a ''second'' wincon if i can says so because you can ghost quarter their lands and just continu the loop until they are out of lands and GG.
im no expert of this deck but those are the main things i see.
like i said go ask some help in the primer thread and youll get a great idea of what to do and they will be much bether than us on the rumors mill because theyve been runing the great oiled machine much longer than us so good luck buddy. (english aint my first language)

top 5 anime of all time (tv, not books because dragon ball would be first)
I know Mono-U Tron players are repelled by most things UU in their casting costs but it's hard to not get on board with something like Torrential Gearhulk, an tutorable instant speed artifact bomb that can be bought back by Academy Ruins. I'll be finding a place for him going forward.
Got to rock the deck again at a small GPT tonight (16 players). The meta was pretty aggro and made me wish I had chalice in the main. I ran the same list posted above, but took out 2 hurkyll's recall from the side and replaced them with 1 relic of progenitus, and 1 filigree familiar.
My matchups:
GW Tron 2-1
Burn 2-0
Boggles 2-0
Affinity (Draw)
Cut to top 4(me, affinity, affinity, bant spirits):
Affinity: 0-2
Both of the losses against affinity felt particularly bad. He killed me with a sweet topdeck right before I was stabilizing both games. In game one, I was at 2 with a wurmcoil ready to attack, and he drew master of etherium to make his two ornithopters lethal. G2 he topdecks a lethal cranial plating the turn before I jam angel. Oh well, so it goes.
Overall did pretty well in a hostile meta, and had a good time playing the deck. For the short-term, I may start experimenting with a trinket mage, and chalices/ee in the main. May give it a try at the next tournament I play in. Anyone have any experience with a trinket mage package?
I'll be going to Grand Prix Brisbane next weekend and am close to settling on a list, this being the current iteration. The meta will be completely wide open, I have no idea what to expect, but hopefully lots of midrange and control. Being in Australia, a number of Japanese players are expected to be coming as well, if anyone has any knowledge of what the Japanese meta is currently like.
Things I'm currently not 100% on (apart from not just borrowing burn or affinity lol):
2 Treasure Mage. Not sure if I want the 2nd one. I usually play 1, but going into an unknown field, I think I want more ways to grab my finishers against specific matchups.
1 Gifts Ungiven. This currently occupies my flex slot. I was thinking a second Solemn instead, but following the logic of the 2nd treasure mage, I want more ways to find specific things.
The 2nd Solemn in the board. I really like it vs GBx, but I think I'm good enough against them postboard, and I'm a lot more scared of the fast matchups. Should probably just be an Engineered Explosives.
I've been on this deck for years now, I'm very comfortable with it, just wanted to hear some input and critiques, or at the very least questions about card choices so I can think about this list more. Just want to bounce it around before I settle.
Cut the sundering titan for another wurmcoil if you can. With fastlands and tangolands in the game now, Sundering Titan just simply isn't what it used to be. It isnt capable of singlehandedly locking an opponent out of the game anymore.

or a record player.
That is too many treasure mage and platinum angel
-3 Platinum angel, you have 63 cards.
-2 treasure mage + 2 Spatial Contortion
-2 solemn simlacrum + 2 Thought-Knot seer. This might be a budget decision. solemn is functional thought knot is powerful.
- 1 Talisman of Progress + ghost quarter. You need lands for your opening hands. I prefer ghost quarter over Tec edge but you can run one and one. Also Tailismin of dominance is better than progress because you can use dismember for less life damage sometimes.
Cyclonic Rift is a bit of a fun of, it is powerful when you have the mana and functional when you don't but definately worse than repeal most of the time.
Fabricate can tutor O-stone, but cannot block like treasure mage do you need to block.
