-1 Island, + 1 Oboro, Palace in the Clouds..
its more than just for the "cute factor"..
color-fixing, protection against discard like liliana's +1 or you can also pitch it to your thirst for knowledge if you bounce it back , tricks with squelch, protection against choke........
Thanks for the suggestions. Only reason I dont have oboro, palace in the clounds is also because of money since they are around $20 each. That is also on my "to get" list. If everything else looks good then thats great. Thanks again.
i have felt underwhelmed by 4 drops in general recently and toying with the "all in" anti aggro plan with variations of this decklist. t1 chalice happens when it is needed, engineered explosives can be dropped on 1, or 2 fairly easily, and potentially 3, but thats rare/not needed generally. Simian spirit guide has been the bee's knees as far as a surprise factor, and enabling a t1 counter on the draw without relying on 1 drops, or t1 thirst?! its possible...
anyways, im digging it.
i tried matter reshaper for a handful of games, and never liked it when i drew it.
Mono Blue Tron is the only deck that should be called "UrzaTron"

Is it more worthwhile than Repeal though, since that gives you card draw as well? I saw that earlier today and couldn't decide if it was better or not. Definitely more mana-friendly! But otherwise it's an instant-speed Void Snare that costs 1 extra.
i prefer if the card goes to the top of its caster's library instead, ha ha ha..(memory lapse)
but seriously, i don't think this card helps us in our strategy..it is indeed a speed bump for our opponent but the fact that it doesn't replace itself to help us progress in our plan is a real deal breaker..i would rather run squelch in the main..
Unsubstantiate is pretty tricky to judge. With that sort of wording you can now remand the unremandable and the flexibility of the card is appreciated.
Is it worth the card disadvantage though, now that we have epiphany at the drownyard as well?
Could Unsubstantiate work as tech against Boseiju/Cavern of Souls? I mean it's still card disadvantage, but it buys you time against "can't be countered" effects. Do we even care about those?
On an unrelated note, I was digging through my cards and happened to come across Mirrorworks.
Could this be potentially worthwhile in this deck? It'd be kind of amazing to pay 2 extra and get double Wurmcoils/Sundering Titans/Spellskites/Platinum Angels/Batterskulls/Chalices and such.

this is a "win more " card,
if you are behind dont help, if you are going to win then help.
I've been playing 2x Squelch in the SB for a little bit and they are always very good. Just wondering if you play them what all do you bring them in against?
I bring them in against any deck playing lots of fetches, or if I expect there to be fulminator mage. I think I might make a 1/1 split main and side cutting one remand to the side just to see how it goes.
I play squelch and pithing needle in my sideboard, and I see them as functioning completely different from eachother. I prefer squelch because people usually don't play around it. And even if you want it to counter a fulminator, or planeswalker (or whatever we are worried about) it can always just blank a fetch land early game. Whereas a lot of the time pithing needle can come down too late, or if we have it very early we can play it and name something that ends up being irrelevant.
Pithing Needle does have upsides though, I just like the versatility of squelch
No, I get it. I picked up some Squelches today because it makes sense to me.
I'm also happy to say that my deck is mostly set now aside from some money cards I probably will never get around to buying like Snapcaster Mage, Chalice of the Void, and Crucible of Worlds. Some minor changes to sideboard will be made over time. (Like adding my Pithing Needles from my other deck.)
I like your list but I feel like you need more lands or a couple talismans. 22 lands and no talismans is just too few. Being a control deck we need to hit our land drops. I would cut a couple creatures for a couple islands. Also, I'm not sure about Sanctum of Ugin. It has few targets and you might get more use out of a ghost quarter or tectonic edge.
I think if MB 22 lands is working for you then keep running it, but I do agree with Bombtron that it seems low to me. I would consider cutting a repeal and moving a spellskite to the SB for two more lands.
Also for your sideboard I think that Ætherise is a little slow, Ward of bones doesn't do enough, and repeal is just overall weaker now with the rules change.
I would cut those 4 cards and add two more spreading seas, and two Hurkyl’s recall.
I might over value spreading seas, but I play a playset in my sideboard and bring it in against any deck not playing blue really. Its great at mana screwing burn, Abzan coco, zoo, bw tokens, infect, affinity. Sometimes just having the 4 Spreading seas, 2 Squealch, and a sundering titan can be enough of a mana denial plan.
And Hurkyl’s is great at buying a turn against affinity.
Has any one though about Elder Deep-Fiend. On the surface it looks rather good for this deck especially in a control match-up. Flash it in end of there turn, tap them down so anything you want to cast goes through.

It's got potential, but it may only be worth it if you have a Thought-Knot Seer or a Sad Robot on the field to feed to it for the Emerge cost. Otherwise it may cost a bit too much, I feel.
