Some of us here have been advocats of playing thecombo on turn with counter backup. Don't forget t2 will always be an option. But against some decks on the draw you might want to do some things in a different way. Especially with a sideboard card.

Yeah I know, thats why I think its worth considering him. If they dont have an answer for Teferi, you just go off next turn and they can't interact. And lets not forget that planeswalkers are harder to interact with, no fatal push/path/bolt. They'd basically need a board presence and if they've been tapping out on previous turns, you can just simply go off in those actual turns... waiting would not be so bad.
I think Saheeli, Sublime Artificer might be worth some testing in this deck.. she works great with Puresteel Paladin and turns a junk artifact into a second Sram or Paladin.
She basically is another monastery mentor like piece but her -2 is great for us.
It's quite important for your bounce spells to be instants since you can bounce hate permanents on your opponent's turn, then untap and combo off. If you only have sorcery speed bounce, you need enough mana to cast the bounce spell and combo off on the same turn (otherwise your opponent is just going to replay whatever you bounced).
Mom has a modern card frame but isn't Modern-legal. Anyway, there is Claim // Fame in the sideboard which will trade 1-for-1 with removal.
Paradoxical Outcome has been played in the SB. It works because postboard games last longer and you have time to cast 4-mana spells. Reverse Engineer and Thoughtcast require you to play out some artifacts first, but they don't draw enough cards for their mana cost compared to Retract or Hurkyl's Recall (which also require you to play artifacts first).
Meh. It's curious nobody mentionned the anti-Leyline of SanctityGrapeshot : Fists of Flame. The card is both castable and fits the plan. It's one more win con amongst many though.
Urza is cute here, and super expensive. I never managed to cast Paradoxical Outcome with this deck, I still don't get how players can be seduced by 4-drops. Since we don't make infinite mana, I'm doubtful you can do anything with Urza's last ability that a cheaper win con would do.
We should definitely consider playing 3-4 of the new Teferi MD. It bounces a creature, cantrips, and prevents them from interfereing with our combo. It also beats chalice and leyline of sanctity. Combine it with our ability to power it out turn 2 with mox opal, and I think it's a winner. An infect list recently went 5-0 playing 3 in the MD, and that's the route I'm going to take.
Anyone going to mention Eladamri's Call? We could even play Glittering Wish to get more copies of it, although not sure that is ideal. Is there anything else in green that we want? Maybe a version with Eldritch Evolution?
I think between Giver of Runes and Unearth we might be able to patch up the holes in the deck much better, and be much less of a glass cannon. Unearth is better than Claim//Fame because it can also bring back Monastery Mentor and be cycled away if we don't need it.
Echo of Eons doesn't belong in this deck at all. I don't see Unearth making a large impact since no one really plays Mentor anyway (although I'm glad to have Unearth in Modern). Giver of Runes seems... bad. The best part about Mom is that it can protect itself also, so you always need two removal spells after it loses summoning sickness. Still don't understand how no one is talking about the two mana creature tutor in the set; as far as I can tell it is by far the best card for our deck spoiled so far and seems exactly along the lines of what we need.
I was under the impression that our biggest issue was still having our engines killed or not finding another one? Just because you mulligan to an engine does not mean it survives. I always play assuming that if I have one engine it will get killed. As far as I can tell, this is one of the few cards spoiled so far that helps with these issues that we don't already have (Unearth is cool, but it does essentially the exact same thing that Claim/Fame does). Again, I don't see how Giver of Runes really helps at all, I think that a one mana counterspell or something like Apostle's Blessing is just better in most cases.
Also, I don't think that our wincon has any issues really if the deck does what it is supposed to do (barring sideboard hate like Leyline), so idk why everyone is trying to make other wincons work that clearly don't really fit our deck.
I’ve seen @lunicyl below disagrees about the need for a different wincon but we’re about to start playing in a modern format with Flusterstorm and Weather the Storm. These cards are problems for us. So developing an alt wincon is a good idea.
Ultimately, I think this is a sideboard card - it’s very good as an alt wincon versus Chalice on zero and provide bodies to sacrifice to lolly effects.

Giver of Runes is cute, I think it's no better than Swan Song.
