In my opinion, there isn't a better deck to take to a paper event, especially infrequently. On paper my results are well above 80%, with most of my LGS events going undefeated into splitting the final round.
Online, things are harsh. There is a lot of maindeck hate, the RG Valakut matchup is really common, the BW Smallpox deck mulls to Leyline, the Eldrazi Tron deck has 8 post-sb pieces against us, etc. etc. It might be good to wait a while before trying the deck out online.
Do you guys think that Dredge will maintain its Tier 1 status?
Well, we just did the forum rearrange and we were still mid tier 1. We arent scraping at the bottom or anything. Online our presence still hasnt gone down and we keep getting at least 1-2 results every top 32. I'd say were doing fine. Im more worried about how potential bans/unbans/HoD printings will move things.
Not that we get banned, I think were super safe from that. I mean deaths shadow. Since we have a good matchup there.

Just ordered final cards for my Dredge. Ready to start practicing soon I think if Death's shadow is going to get banned we will see more Eldrazi Trons. Somehow i see Eldrazi Tron to be much more broken than Grixis DS.
It fetches for red. It really doesnt matter what type of land you use as long as it gets red. You czn replace the tarn for arif mesas if you want
So basicly if im using just 2x scalding tarns i have that posibility to fetch Steam vents/Red source and then go for 2xArid mesas just for Red?
Not being a jerk, Youre new right? do you know how fetchlands work? Scalding tarn can fetch an island or a mountain. Wooded foothills can fetch a forest or mountain. Arid mesa can fetch a plain or mountain. All of them csn fetch steam vents because steam vents is an island mountain. Every fetchable shockland we play is a mointain.
So it doesnt matter what fetchland you use, as long as it gets mountains
I couldn't disagree more about modern combo generally not worrying about card quantity. Thy are going to have to choose between mana for combo pieces and combo pieces in many situations, if they don't just lose their hand.

I do, but sometimes my brains are just playing with me, like now All what i was thinking was fetching an island with scalding tarn. Completely shutout that Steam Vents is Mountain as well My bad.
Ill try this out this week to test it. I want to see main deck dispair, and brutality. Im probably over the card limit, and should cut one of those cards for another dredge card. But 2 is a good test number, and Ill trim the following week after seeing results.
As far as sideboars... Im still not into pulse. I think his logic is a little flawed. I agree verititlity is important... but decay hits everything BUT kaltas, leyline and delve creatures.
But heres the issue... conflag kills the vampire, same with delve creatures who are also really bad against us. And he is flat out wrong about how mana efficency doesnt matter game 2 and 3. It does. Id rather stick with decay for that reason.
I get your point and first I was skeptical about Maelstrom Pulse until I tried it. I have to say I like the card more then Decay because it can take out more then one card as is useful against everything.
I took out two Death Shadows last week and swung in for the win.
Also that was not the only game I got 2 for 1's with that card.
Of course it is personal but I am liking it so far.
PS. It looks like your one card down. I play the same mainboard but I have 4 Neonates.

2 driven//dispair. App on my phone isnt updated with HoD
Idea was cut two flex spots (haunted/rally) for driven, cut 2 enablers for 2 enablers (loam, neonate to 2 brutality)
Like I said... it probably should be 2 brutaility with -1 driven +1 loam, or -1 brutaility, + 1 neonate or something. But I wanna see my numbers in testing so Im overloading a little.
Either driven will be staple main deck, giving the deck dredge power and game ending power, or it will be super win more. Might be sideboard more than main, kinda like brutaility, being flexable. I wont really know until I can drive it a bit.
Im sure mainboard brutaility is right now. But I cant see cutting neonate down to 2, no way on that. We still need turn 1 plays.
Yeah I also think 2 Neonates is to little that is why I kept 4 in the main with 2 Brutality next to it. When you need more Brutality in games 2 and 3 you can always shave down 2 Neonates.
I am also looking forward to testing out Driven and I will be getting them when they are out.
Let us know how your testing goes please

I played a little tonight on cockatrice, which is pretty bad testing... But I wanted a feel. I cast Driven/dispair once, and I was already winning. The card was in my hand a lot though. It just always felt awkward... It probably is win more, which saddens me. The dream is casting both ends, which I still think is valid, but maybe as a sideboard card against the decks you want to rip their gas apart?
I played affinity 3 times, elves, some random brews a few times, and burn, 2 death and taxes, and a death's shadow. It didnt help on the burn match, which really sucked, because driven was stranded in the hand and I needed dispair. Against elves, I couldnt jam it in there, but again, I wanted dispair, but was too busy casting stuff til turn 4, which that point he already emptied. And when I could have cast it when I needed I was already winning the race. against deaths shadow I had a good set up and thought here is where it would shine, but when they discard stripped my turn 1-2 enabler and left me with this in hand I was screwed. Affinity I sided it out for grudges which is better.
Again, just awkward. It feels like rally, a finisher, but you gotta have it in the yard and use it around turn 4. I'm going to try and be more aggressive with its use tomorrow. Maybe I'm using it wrong.
Oh, and brutaility over preformed in all those matches. Worth mentioning
I've been running 2 neonate 2 brutality main with one more of each in the side and it's been perfectly satisfactory. Really the neonate in the side is just filler and it'll be a Driven//Despair.
I also picked up some Burning Inquiries today to test out because honestly Neonate doesn't feel good to me and Inquiry has the added bonus of potentially making your opponent lose for R while being a triple dredge. Of course I know it's a bad first loot, but after a faithless it can be as nuts as Cathartic and let you hold your land drop til after your dredges on turn 2. It's also fine holding for after a Brutality.
And on a third note, I had an insane game today where I dredged down to 4 cards in my library on TURN 3, which was a new experience for me. 11 dredges. Neonate > Draw Step > Cathartic > Draw Step > Cathartic > Looting. And I did it because I needed the blockers for a scary Ornithoper and did the full 20 swing back.

Edit: well had a slower game against a blue deck and I won off aggressive dispairs. So much so that game 3 he exiled it right away. I think its maybe a 1/2 of in the sideboard to counter combo and grind decks maybe.
