Random question : Has anyone seen any product made directly with storm in mind? A mana "card" to track your pool, dice/ect made specifically for storm? I doubt it (and don't need it) but wondered if there was anything made to better display everything for both yourself and your opponent.
I think the opposite. Junk and other GBx decks are looking to be the new tier 1, and this deck has serious trouble against a million maindeck discard spells.
I agree. I believe the current meta will shift towards junk, which is not a good matchup to put it lightly. The only saving grace is we prey on some of the matchups that can be harder for junk, even then I am going to hold judgement on this decks position until after the pro tour. I have not run into too much jund/junk online yet, but its been enough, and twice in a daily once.

It still makes a huge difference. They run a low amount of basics and it basically takes out siege rhino and Lili and also restricting their play by a lot if they somehow got a forest+swamp into play, a turn they'd play a creature would mean you don't have to worry about abrupt decay etc.
That's true, but all the good pilots I have played against will usually fetch basic swamp, then forest, which then it doesn't matter if we play blood moon. If they don't do it before blood moon they will do it after. They can also float G/B to decay the blood moon after it hits.

If they do get basics and decay the blood moon, then that just means we don't have to deal with that decay with our goblin/ascension. A t2 bloodmoon is an easy win though.
Anyway, tonight's modern was yet again 3-1 and taking 3rd place. Kinda disappointed 'cause I kept drawing crap and should of won my 3rd match, but got a brain fart.
Match 1 - 1-0 vs some blue/green control brew. didn't really understand what he was trying to do as wincon, but I won g1 and we timed out on g2.
Match 2 - 2-1 vs zoo brew, I lost game 2 because I had to mulligan to 5 and couldn't do crap.
Match 3 - 2-1 vs aura hexproof, he won first game, I win 2nd game with a t2 blood moon and 3rd game I saw daybreak coronet and attacked with my goblin cause at that moment my brain thought he could play it next turn (he couldn't, he had plains/forest/forest) which made me take a lot next turn and then I lost the turn after.
Match 4 - 2-1 vs zoo brew, I won g1, he won g2 after bolting two electromancers and beating me up with nacatls/scoozes, I won g3 with luck; I was dead next turn so I try to combo off with a grapeshot in hand, end up drawing another grapeshot and a bolt. He was at 17, I went off probe/ritual/manamorphose/ritual/ritual/bolt/grapeshot/grapeshot for the kill.
Sad thing is I pretty much played every game with a starting hand of 6 cards or less. =/
Match 1 was against a tribal zoo deck. He wasn't able to draw well, so I had a lot of time to combo off both rounds.
Match 2 was against monoblack infect, which was just kind of awful. Got hit with Blackmail and Mind Wrench (which is just brutal). Round one I lost to Inkmoth Nexus + Phyrexian Vatmother in short order. The second game I was one mana away of being able to combo off, but he got me both times.
Match 3 was against Junk Artistocrats. It was pretty simple, combo'd off turn 3 both games with an Ascension and Electromancer out.
Match 4 was against Scapeshift. Game 1 I drew 3 Manamorphose, an Ascension and an Electromancer (along with a Probe and Visions). I drew a second Probe, allowing me combo off turn 3 fairly easily. Games 2 and 3 were both won on the back of Dispel hitting my rituals whenever I'd try to go off, combined with my deck refusing to give me gas. It was pretty disappointing.
Match 5 was against UWr control. I lost the first game to a Vendilion Clique + Restoration Angel hitting key pieces of my hand, with a Remand taking care of my turn 2 PA. Game 2 was handily in my favor, as I was able to land a turn 2 Ascension. This let me combo off pretty easily. Not much to say. Game 3 was interesting, as he got stuck on 2 lands and I didn't draw gas for about five turns. My first attempts to combo were foiled by Dispel and Mana Leak, though I was eventually able to ritual + ritual into Empty to get him a clock, followed by a minor combo next turn with a grapeshot for the win. Ended up on like turn 9. His manascrew was the only thing that saved me, and a land was the next card he would have drawn. I felt kinda bad for him.
Overall, kinda meh results. I need to grab some Defense Grids for my board ASAP to stop stuff like this from happening. I also am thinking that I need to switch to Ravings, with the number of discard decks running around my meta (there's at least 1 Jund and two more BGx decks, along with an 8rack and the MBI player).
Yeah, a turn two blood moon will usually win us the game. Otherwise it is just another thing they have to deal with, and usually will. I have found that most games I board in bolts I usually use at least one for the final kill.
I do like the one of defense grid. If there is a lot of discard I would recommend ravings over looting. The main issue I have with looting is that the first one is fine, but each one after that you can really feel it starting to shred your hand.
On another note, I played against a tezzeret deck today. He turn one nihil spell bomb, turn two chalice for one, nothing really on his turn three, so I just kill him on turn three. I put up a video of it, its nice how a chalice on one does not completely shut us down, neither does two if we get an ascension up. It sure can make it harder, but it is still winnable.

So just some stats that I found. There were nine storm decks total at worlds (2.20% of the field). 6 of these made day two (2.30% of the field at this point). The day two win percentage was not amazing at 53.30% but at least it was still positive. I have not been able to figure out who was running it or what lists were brought yet.

Keep in mind that the PT meta is going to be very warped by team choices/counters to decks. Didn't the entire Pantheon go Infect expecting that everyone would prepare for Abzan? What I would take away from the PT is that we see Abzan working well yet again. It's a highly resilient deck, who knew. Bad news for Storm, as they are strong against us. I can't see Storm being Tier 1 against a meta full of discard/Abrupt Decay. Tier 2? Now that we can handle.
What changes can we test that might make our chances against Abzan better, other than Blood Moon?

Keep in mind that this is the day one win percentage of decks that made it to day two. The average was around 60%, which means Storm under-performed against the field despite getting 2/3 of its players to day two. The meta really just isn't good for us at all at the moment. Abzan and Burn matchups are both quite bad, and Infect is basically a toss up.

I wonder if the meta will shift due to bloom's performance. How's our bloom matchup (and the fact that althought 70+ junk decks went to the tournament but the top 8 representation was low).
I think it could be even. If they get the nut draw for a Titan on turn 2, we can be in serious trouble, but they're disruption light (barring Pact of Negation), which could let us combo off on turn 3ish to kill them.
