I also don't care for the white splash, I think you can cover most of your bases by running additional Empties out of the board and then running a couple of Merchant Scrolls with an Echoing Truth coming out of the side. I gave more explanation page or two back on that choice with my list

I have now finished the deck in paper and tomorrow I am going to play at my LGS. I could not decide whether I wanted to have Merchant Scroll or Thought Scour. You all know the pros and cons.. I personally prefer consistency over speed, so the logical choice would have been Merchant Scroll, but then I heard about Peer through Depths, which I hadn't thought about.
My current configuration is now 1 Scroll, which is mainly a fifth gifts and 2 Peer through Depths. Peer helps to find the missing piece (if you have Baral/Electromancer already). The major difference is that it is an Instant versus just a sorcery and it is more flexible.
What do you think about the Death's Shadow Jund Matchup ? It can be very difficult, but I think we have a chance. Especially Empty plays a major role here. It is easier to set up lethal, even with a small storm count.
I don't have 3 Blood Moons yet, so I play Leylines instead for the moment. My boarding would be something like this:
-1 Grapeshot
-3 Remand
-1 Sleight of hand
+1 Empty the warrens
+3 Leyline of Sactity
+1 Echoing Truth
With Empty it is also easier to play around stuff like Surgical Extraction. Did anyone play against this deck and can confirm this boarding ? Echoing truth is mainly there to buy an extra turn or bounce Eidolon of Rhetoric. It also punishes our enemy if he does something like Death's Shadow, Traverse, Death's Shadow.
Tomorrow my Sideboard will probably look something like this:
3 Leyline of Sanctity
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Dispel
2 Vandalblast
1 Echoing Truth
1 Into the roil
1 Empty the Warrens
1 Blood Moon
Is Blood Moon worth in this Matchup ? I see the point in boarding it, since it can totally wreck them. But on the other hand it could be too slow.. What are your Sideboards at the moment ? The Leylines disappoint me more often than not, but with such a strong new contender it is probably good enough. What are your experiences with Leyline ? How aggressive would you take mulligans ? This is definitely the hardest part.
I haven't played enough against this matchup, but I only boarded in empty and sometimes bolt just because the little reach it gives is good in this matchup. Empty is also really good since most run very few battle rages now and at most 2 pulse. I think blood moon is too slow in the matchup. I was not playing with leyline in my board, and I am not sold on the bolts, but going wider with empty I think is the best plan.

I don't have 3 Blood Moons yet, so I play Leylines instead for the moment. My boarding would be something like this:
I agree with the way you boarded; Empty is very good against decks packing alot of discard, which DS definitely has, and it also blocks the shadows and goyfs well while also threatening a crackback to kill because of how low they put them. I would probably run an additional one in the side so you have access to 3 total after boarding, you could probably cut either a Dispel or Roil
I don't bring in my Moons against DS because either: 1. They make you discard because they almost never keep a hand without a discard spell, or 2. They've already played out a threat faster than you can Blood Moon them, which isn't all that helpful. I'd much rather try to Empty for 6 or 8 early to buy some time, and then be able to kill them with a Grapeshot or another small empty later because their life is so low.

I am of the opinion the leyline is really bad in storm and even worse in gifts lists. It clogs the deck up with too much nonsense and we don't have looting or izzet charm to get rid of extras.
I don't like bolt against Death's Shadow because it doesn't usually kill goyf or shadow. I agree with theChucklingAtom that moon is too slow. My sideboard plan against Death's Shadow is:
+2 Empty the Warrens
-1 Grapeshot
-1 Remand (this can also be your worst cantrip if you play anticipate, thought scour or only run a single remand in which case don't cut the remand)
I've only played against the new death's shadow deck once, but I lost and it wasn't even close. In my experience you can deal with a fast clock OR hand disruption but both makes it really hard to go off.
I agree I don't think Leyline is where we want to be in the board, it has too much of a diluting factor if we bring it in, and really isn't worth having unless you bring in 3 or 4 copies, which I don't think is where we want to be.

I'm assuming you're maindecking Echoing Truth with the Scrolls then right? Death's Shadow has been boarding in Ethersworn Cannonist, so you definitely want access to a bounce spell

Yes. I have maindeck answers to hate. If I didn't I would trim another remand (go down to 1) for echoing truth.
@KingBrago I've tested with it and it's pretty bad. Drawing Emperion is bad and the plan is just too vulnerable to removal. People aren't boarding out removal against us any more since we're not an ascension deck any more so Emperion gets path or terminated too often. It's similar to the leyline plan, it puts too much fluff in the deck making actually winning too difficult. Storm has to play to win not play to not lose. Forgetting that can lead to some pretty bad sideboard strategies.
4-0'd again tonight (running total now 9-0) beating goryo's (make sure to get enough storm to kill them even if they surprise gain 11 life!), Eldrazi Tron, Ad Nauseam, and 5 color midrange.
Really liking the two scrolls, I think that's a good number for them.
I feel like leyline might be our only out to death's shadow, as they have 10+ pieces of discard after board. And with how popular it is in modern at the moment I'm not sure if we can afford to just say "well, that one is unwinnable" and move on.
I want to see how well mindbreak trap does in the mirror, because I think with so much of this deck being reprinted storm may become more popular as it'll relatively cheap to buy in to.
@shomotooth Jund/Junk has never been a problem for me. Death's Shadow on the other hand has, I can deal with some hand disruption OR a fast clock but both is very hard.
@shomotooth I would like to note I have seen people bring in more copies of empty the warrens against Jund, but I feel this just makes their hate like Jund Charm,Golgari Charm, Rakdos Charm, Anger of the Gods, Night of Souls Betrayal, and Damnation become more live. Turn 4-5 Grapeshot is still very consistent against them.
So if you want to try bringing in more copies Empty the Warrens try this.
-3 Remand
-1 Thought Scour
+2 Blood Moon
+2 Empty the Warrens
If you want the bolts as well you could argue cutting 1 Past in Flames (I've seen John Finkel do this with an older list) and the other 2 thought scours
We can also side out some of creatures against BGx and focus on longer game with Empty the Warrens as main win condition. I usually side like this:
In - 2-3 Blood Moons (only on a play) 2 etw 3-4 Bolts
Out - 1 gifts 1 pif 2 creatures 3 Remands 1-2 Thought Scours.
I side out 1 gifts 1 Pasts becouse I don't want to make cmc too high. So far it works for me.
