If people were playing blue decks in modern right now I would be on Ravings but I haven't played against a Remand in months so Gifts is it until Eldrazi gets banned. It definately has some downsides because it isn't a red draw spell which is awesome and sometimes you get weird hands with too many four drops. It makes Jund/Junk much better which is nice and is fine against decks with cryptic because we can force them to tap out to counter it and then win on the next turn. Obviously ravings is better versus U control but gifts is fine. Remand and dispel (Remand more than dispel) are the cards that really punish us for playing gifts.
The Concept looks fine, although u did use common sharpies/something similiar, right?
For Yugioh Cards (alters etc) acryllic paint was really good to use, maybe try it here too.
Yeah, like I said, I'm not an artist and that was all I had on hand. I think they look beautiful, but then again, i'm biased
Can you guys help me to construct a mana base and a sideboard for Finkel Typical 75. I have all the cards but I will play Blue Moon in my next tournament and a friend of mine want to play my Storm deck. I don't have a extra playset of Scalding Tarn and a extra playset of Blood Moon. I will have 3 playsets of the other blue fetch available.
Thanks in advance.

Google Finkel 75, but I think the manabase is:
4 Scalding Tarn
3 other blue fetch
3 island
1 mountain
3 shivan reef
2 steam vents
Sideboard:
4 lightning bolt
3 blood moon
3 empty the warrens
2 echoing truth
3 shatterstorm
It seems absolutely terrible. A) No one is playing counter spells. B. I have no interest in randomly losing a land. C) We're not play TES from three years ago. D) We can't reasonably go off on turn three if we have to cast silence in the same turn.
Guys, what do you think about playing Gemstone Mine as a substition for fetches and playing in general in this Deck?
It allows us any color we want, also we can often go on T3, which is fast enough even if we played Mines T1. Also you could try playing Silence in the Main deck, but I guess that is too much crafting and theory-oh! (Would be nice against blue tho, when Edrazis are gone...)
So yeah, what do you think about this?
Not to burst your bubble but I'm not too convinced neither, with either Gemstone mine nor silence. I think lordoftheshadows has summarised pretty neatly as above
I would rather just fetch a dual that we are splashing for, or if you dont have any fetches I wouldn't bother trying to splash personally. The issue I have with gemstone mine and silence is that the easiest way to beat the blue control decks is hit all your land drops. That allows you to overwhelm their counters, sometimes over a few turns. Gemstone mine fights the land part, but also gives a spell that they have to counter like silence. I also feel that it is just medium in that matchup, and not very good in most other matchups.

Went for FNM yesterday. It's funny how my first opponent of the night and I said the same thing to our respective friends before arriving at the shop; "Nah nobody plays storm."
The lols on each other's face as we lead our turns with similar plays; Turn 1 Sleight of Hand, Turn 2 Pyromancer Ascension.
Anyway he plays the Pyromancer Storm version; the one with Remand and Noxious Revival.
I lost 1-2 though, he managed to go off on his last Active 5 turn, with everyone else who's waiting for us to finish watching the game and went "Holy crap, storm mirror???"
I've never played against the mirror before, much less prep any sb slots for it. The closest I can come to is Iona, but with remand mainboard, it's kinda hard...
My paper Storm deck still needed 4 Tarns, 3 Deltas, and 3 blood moons, but as of last night I picked up 2 deltas and 2 blood moons! If i can trade for the rest I'll be playing storm at my next FNM!
Stupid question: I was at a GP once and this guy thoughtseized me and wrote down the contents of my hand (I was on burn.) I then proceeded to bolt him to the face two turns later, but he kept playing around a second bolt which I did have. Long story short, he told me that he knew the lightning bolt he thoughtseized was M11, where as when I bolted him earlier, that bolt was M10 so he knew I had a second bolt. He said I should always play cards with the same art. I've been trying to take his advice and trade when I can to get same art cards, but is it that important?
Stupid question #2: I'm a really clumsy player, so I often drop cards on the table, have trouble shuffling them into my hand, etc (I don't miss triggers though, physically clumsy, not mentally.) Often, there's so much stuff to storm I physically have trouble playing the deck because of the amount of coordination and effort it takes to execute the combo and usually I have to play fast. Is there anything I can do to make comboing easier? I don't really know how to ask this, but I'm a little nervous playing storm with as clumsy as i am
It's really not important to definitely have cards the same art and printing. If he wrote it down wrong that is on him. The only time different printings/art matter are situations when some of the different arts of tron lands looks similar to different tron pieces from other sets in which case some people can do that to try and be sketchy. It's a matter of communication

The thing is, he wrote it down right. He knew I was holding a bolt in hand for 3 turns because I was using different arts. I highly doubt I'd encounter this at an FNM. But a GP, maybe.
Oh I misread that. You definitely don't have to run the same art or printing. The only advantage to that is when you draw another one if you don't cast one they know about gives away a lot. So part of that is at your opponents advantage if you do run different art or printing.
I've been playtesting Harness the Storm, just for grins, it's actually pretty good. Not good enough to warrent a spot in the already tight deck, but if the deck was 100 cards I could definitely see it.
unless you have it in your opening hand you don't want it at all. Meaning you have at best 3 dead cards that do nothing for your after turn 1. I don't think it is the card draw you are looking for.
cespinar is right. It's unplayable in storm. This B&R undate means that I can't play gifts anymore. People are going to be playing remand again. On the plus side Thopter-Sword should suppress burn a fair bit.
If it was suspend 3 it would be slightly better, but as it is it doesn't even get cast before we want to combo. I could see it at best be a sideboard card for heavy hand disruption matchups, but I feel that it is too slow there as well. I am really interested to see what hard control deck surfaces, and to see how good it will end up.

I could see AV finding a place in the sideboard if the meta became bogged down with a lot of control-ish decks, but I don't think that's going to happen. In any case, Defense Grid is probably a better choice against them anyways.
We would probably want a more flexible draw at that rate and would likely run something closer to painful truths I would think. Defense grid will likely make it into more boards though.
