It could potentially allow us to lower our number of cantrips , maybe replace a few cantrips with the new Vessel of Volatility.
It would certainly help with those cases where you a ton of mana but not enough draw to keep going .
Perhaps (and this sounds crazy) we could use Krark-clan Ironworks to generate 2 mana off the investigate artifact tokens for a large Blaze or something of that effect?

Okay, I went 3-3 in testing in the last days and I noticed a couple of things.
1) I find that the deck is very fragile to countermagic.
2) Desperate Ravings is a card I'll have to learn to love, because right now, I don't like the randomness to it. I understand the straight card advantage it provides, but Faithless Looting is a card I prefer I think : costs less, can be flashbacked and you choose what you discard. As of now, I had at least 3 or 4 games where something I needed went to the yard and not a useless land that was stuck in my hand.
3) Dealing with Rest in Peace, aside Swan Song, what do we have?
1.) You can play around countermagic - Ascendancy gives you a copy, so you can exhaust your opponents countermagic. You can play around Mana Leak and Remand by having extra mana from Rituals, which pushes your opponent to counter Rituals, which you can use to get rid of counters. Post board you have Empty, so you opponents counters are useless.
2.) The trick with Ravings is, that you cast it only if you have nothing useful left in your hand. Against midrange decks (countermagic, discard, removal for engines...) you both trade cards, which leaves you without engines and low on cards and that is situation when you want to cast Ravings. Also Ravings is very useful mid-combo.
3.) I disregard Swan Song as viable answer. What you can do is to ignore it altogether with Empty or to preparea combo turn and use eot Echoing Truth on RIP.
Conterspells : About counterspells, I mean what's rough as of now is to start the storm count. Often on turn 4, I need to cast one ritual and if it gets countered, then it's game over. Working around countermagic is easy when your opponent has realized what is now happening, but getting through with your first 2 rituals I'd say is the most difficult aspect of it right now for me.
Desperate Ravings: I'm sure the card is great, I need to get practice with it and see how to use it in optimal situations. I see how it's good mid-combo, but I need to get further playtesting to use it appropriately.
Counters usually means a slower deck at this point, so we don't have to go off early because of that. Decks that provide early threats and good counters have been problems for storm for years, and not just in modern. Because of how redundant the deck is, it is usually ok if one or two spells get countered.
I highly recommend ravings. I do know why some people like looting, but in general I have never been happy casting it in storm. Again because the deck is redundant the random discard rarely hurts us, and keeping card parity is a big deal. In longer games the flashback is a good way to generate card advantage as well.
Echoing truth and empty is what I use to fight rip. Depending on the deck that can be a rough matchup. Usually those decks have issues with multiple empties though. If not, then usually if you play out a few ascensions you can bounce it end of turn and at least activate the ascensions on yours to set up the kill that way.

What do people think about this list? Pascal3000 went 7-2 in the recent MOCS Monthly Event with it. He talked about it a bit here. Similar to the list that made top 8 at a recent GP.
It's difficult for me to evaluate given how used to the stock list I am. The main thing I don't like about it is how dependent you are on Goblin Electromancer. It seems as though if your opp holds up removal for it, it makes it so hard to get enough mana to go off with Gifts Ungiven/Past in Flames. Drawing electromancer isn't a given either. Having 4 Pyromancer Ascension as well as 4 electromancers means you're more likely to see one of them or have it stick. But gifts lets you tutor for something you're missing I guess. Empty the warrens makes sense if you're going off with electromancer and can't necessarily draw your entire deck or build up enough storm. 19 lands is way more than 16, but I suppose that makes sense given the gifts ungiven. The green splash in the sideboard is unusual too.
I'm skeptical, but I can't deny that it's done well at 2 recent major events, and the stock list hasn't. I'll be interested to try it out at least. I just hope my electromancers stick around long enough.
It has done well at one GP, the recent classic and the mocs, while the stock list (one on ravings one on looting) did well at two of the GP's. This deck is fine. I do like the mainboard empty in this meta. I think the simian spirit guide should be anything else. This deck is a lot better since there is a lot less lightning bolt lying around. This version is pretty reliant on electromancer living. I do like it, and it can feel explosive, but I feel that the normal list is just more consistent in general.

I have lots of control decks in my meta, so having 2 Dispel is crucial and Swan Song give them sometimes a clock I don't want to provide (especially against UWR control and Grixis control). I have some Affinity, but also other aggro decks (Merfolk, RUG Delver, Zoo, Soul Sisters, etc.), so 1 Anger of the Gods will do the job. I'm never taking out 2 Grapeshot, always leaving 1 at least in the 60, so 2 Empty the Warrens gives at least 3 win conditions and that seems optimal to me. And 2 Echoing Truth because I'm fearing maybe to much Leyline of Sanctity and Rest in Peace.
Personally I prefer to just grind them out instead of counter magic generally, but dispel is definitely the one you want if you are going to run a counter. I think if you are fearing leyline and rip you should leave the third empty in. Generally you keep a smaller storm count and don't just blow your whole hand on that spell if you don't have to.

-1 Echoing Truth and +1 Empty the Warrens. There's a part thinking that 2 Echoing Truth is overkill and will be a dead card, but I'm also thinking 1 might be not enough. Going with the goblin beatdown plan when facing RiP or Lelyline seems a great idea instead of painfully searching for an Echoing Truth.
Usually when we are comboing we can draw our whole deck, so the one echoing truth is fine there. Against rip it is better to just transfer game plans and try to beat them down. That sideboard looks fine to me, good luck!

I still think Vessel of Volatility is the second coming of Seething Song. Once it is possible I will test it. If you have a convincing argument why I should be wrong, please explain it to me. I will be trying it out in a shell similar to pre-Seething-Song-ban with four Grapeshots.
Seething song was amazing, I miss playing with it. The big differences off the bat is seething song was +2 mana +1 storm. This card you have to pick one of those. The only thing this card does well is allow for us to sink mana into playing them on one turn, and then have an explosive amount of mana the next. However, rarely when I am comboing do I want more mana, especially when there is an electromancer out. +2 mana isn't enough to increase the possibility of a turn three past in flames loop, and you have to expose the card on turn two, essentially trading your turn two for two potential mana at some point. Which I would rather do something that gives me a higher chance of turn three (Ascension/electromancer). I do plan on testing this card but I do not believe it is playable in this deck. It will probably find a modern home in the ramp/breach decks, but I find it unlikely that it will be here. By all means test with it, I just feel that this card doesn't do near enough in this deck.
