I think that if you can get to a safe storm count of 7 vs Jund, you should be able to win the next turn if you have PiF. Not that I don't doubt the cons of Swath
I don't understand what you mean. What do you do on the draw?
They are ~53% to draw Eidolon before your turn 4, so my inclination is to look for a Bolt with cantrips. That leaves me with fewer cards for combo and lowers my chances to go off on turn 4. EtW lets me go off with fewer cards, even a single blocker can provide a lot of life gain and it gives them 1-2 less draws for Eidolon..
I'm always looking for multiple bolts, to the point where that's usually how I kill them. My problem with empty is they seem to have a faster game plan than it ~85% of the time.
It is interesting. By I won't be playing it because it costs four. It is probably too slow. It does dodge most removal, but still costs four. We already have a similar option in an artifact, minus the scry, much cheaper. I could see this card being okay against the grindy control decks. It also could be decent against G/B/x but it is probably too slow there.

So what do you guys think about something like this? Game plan is to just get a turn 1-2 Blood Moon or make ~8 goblins on turns 1-3. Is it just horrible?

I thought some more about it and I can see your point. I will try to stick to the plan A on draw, thank you for advice.
I'd assume you bring in the third Ravings for BGx decks, the Grudges for Affinity, Tron, and possibly stuff like Fish where they want to stick and tick up an Aether Vial, Claw against Burn and Zoo, and the forth Bolt/Blood Moons/EtW/Echoing Truth against the usual suspects (see the front page).
Are there YP lists? The "Search This Thread" function doesn't seem to be working for me. Seems bad to me though, as so many times opponents will board into something to clean up after an Empty the Warrens (eg Pyroclasm, etc) which unfortunately also answers YP. I'd think any such list would want Goblin Bushwhacker or Burst Of Speed just to ensure some value.
I have my thread in the budget section because its..... different.
Running Storm for the first time in paper at a PPTQ in the morning. I've been using the deck for 2 months now, but any last minute tips for a new storm player?
Be mindful of how you track your mana and storm count. If you rely on an app or dice, warm up beforehand and use paper. Most opponents will not let you get away with apps/dice/etc and would ask for paper. You are responsible for tracking those three items. I used poker chips for a while at casual REL, now I use paper after too many complaints.
I have never had anyone have a problem of me using 3 different colored d20s, and I've even had people at ptqs offer to tick up the storm die for me. On paper I would always have a R column, S column, and B column, and then just write whatever number belonged after scratching out the last one.
One big thing I would keep in mind is that if you have an ascension you can respond to the original PiF with the scours/instants in your graveyard. Also, if you have five spells with one being a PiF and another being grapeshot, remember you can cast the PiF with flashback to almost double your damage. Rit+rit+rit, grapeshot, PiF, rit+rit+rit shot = 9, but rit+rit+rit, PiF, rit+rit+rit, shot, PiF, shot = 18. You need an electromancer for it to happen with just these cards, but sequencing is pretty important with this deck.

As far as tracking it on paper I do the same as chuckles. I keep a column for S-R-U and I always announce after every spell each new number I am writing so they know my math is correct and how much I pay for each spell and what I have after each one.
Physically seeing the cards as mana helps a lot of people follow the complex lines of play.

The very fact that Flamethrowers exist proves that someone somewhere said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire... But I'm just not close enough to do it"
I don't know that I can completely back that method since someone could argue that you stacks tokens to add extra mana and there is no easy way to retrace that, whereas with a pen and paper you can easily go back through your history of adding and subtracting. method still seems fine, but accidentally grabbing 4 instead of 3 tokens could get you in trouble
I had the same reasons for using poker chips, but your opponent will not always be happy at competitive REL's. There is no way to backtrack on storm/mana used, as mykatdied said.
Against grixis, try to get an ascension down asap. They can't really answer it once it is on the field aside from the control lists that will need to find a cryptic. I'm considering leyline in the board since I've been struggling with the 2 jund decks in the room lately. I run looting so any copies I draw are fine to discard. What I've find is we have to have a hand with more gas than they have disruption which is tough against a deck full of it.
Hi guys! I'm back from GP Singapore. Had a run of terrible luck in the first 3 rounds, causing me to lose all. Overall 1st day record was 5 wins 4 loss. I decided to go through all the way anyway, seeing that i'm already there. Might as well.
I'll post a proper breakdown of my games later, took down notes for each round. And also pulled off quite a few epic wins, which was quite the consolation for me
Few of those wins, i will definitely lose if i pass the turn.
Overall, I'm ok with the deck. Just unhappy that Grishoalbrand.dec was so hyped out before the GP, such that a lot of ppl ran graveyard hate.

I don't like empty on the draw against burn, but on the play it is usually fine.
For what's it is worth a storm of 7 is usually plenty to kill jund, assuming you have a past in flames.

Fast and fragile.
I do consider playing a splash of blue from time to time to make it more like this version. Electromancer and desperate ravings mostly.
If you have red fetches you could improve it further.
Its kind of my "fun" deck rather than my competitive one I'd take it to FNM though.
