Went 1-3 on Thursday. Lost against burn, hollow one, and burn. I think the deck is not in a good position in my meta, so I'm going to take a step back from the deck for a while. Some words of advice to those people new to this deck:
1. The deck does not mulligan well. Keep any playable hand even though it is not optimal for that matchup.
2. Jace sucks. Monastery siege is awesome! It seems counterintuitive, but it really is great.
3. Blood moon might be better as Supreme Will in my previous list.
4. The deck is very hard to play. Get reps in!
About the sieges. I don't like them, as I've said I think they're a little slow on what they do since most of the artifact hate is 2cmc or less or instant speed.
I like Nahiri since she is secondary win con for the deck I'd always approve 3-4 copies. Still not sold on new Karn. Based on my current and still speculation Karn does not help our overall game plan until someone can either give me their opinion, game play of his effectiveness, or a different deck list using him to his fullest possible potential.
As for the blood moon over supreme will, yes that has been an idea I've had about replacing them but what we have to remember is since Restore Balance hits lands,we don't really care about their mana base until G2 when we can really bring the hurt. Like for Tron I side out Supreme Wills for Blood Moons and Imprison in the Moon to knock them consistently off tron. Where as G1 Restore balance and smart game play is enough. Since all they're focused on is playing tron asap.
As for mulling. My version of the deck, to me at least, is decently consistent in grabbing lands, posts, and useable misc cards. That said, there are some lists out there that run way more lands and less posts to both avoid artifact hate and give them more consistent hands. What they'll do is build lands/posts play GG then restore balance when they have enough posts and just never play lands again. Which is a viable option, only problem is, finding that right consistency which is something I'm not entirely fond of since I don't like investing $$ into a jank budget deck.

It's easy to believe you're a god when you're twice as powerful as everyone else.
Today, bad day with the deck ,three matches 0-1-2,lost versus goblins 1-2, and RW hatebears 0-2 and 1-1 versus elves, the deck need some changes in the main and in the sideboard:-(,to be continued and talk about the changes, now I'm tired and unhappy:-(
Hey man, it'll be alright.
What do you remember about your 3 games. How did your deck preform, what list did you use, how did your opponents do, what did they do to stop your game plan, and why didn't your deck preform how you wanted whether it's land, draw, interaction, etc.
Once you can answer these questions I can help suggest cards to increase your chances of winning. Also what meta is your local game store (lgs)

In my metagame are Goblins, elves,WRU control, BR Griselshoal, BU Faeries,Humans, Tron, Death SHADOW,...., The metagame is great!!!
GreatGodLoki you have reason,wear/tear is better than Ingot Chewer but versus hatebears didn't have red mana in the first game and in the second game pitting my borderpost with revoker and I had a Chewer in hand but I wait for the vial, the next turn eidolon of the retoric, but I have Nahiri in hand and wait and when the next turn Stony silence, in my turn play Nahiri and exile Eidolon butnhe played restoration exile revoker and pitting Nahiri, next turn killed me :-(, play very bad, because I waited if he played vial.
Yes. The reason I have with Wear // Tear over Ingot Chewer is the versatility. We're never going to play the Chewer for 4R and being a 3/3 he won't kill or survive anything where as Wear // Tear is more flexible in any situation and allows us to consolidate our resources into a singular card.
As for your red mana issues, what is your posts/mana count? What color posts and how many are you running of each.
As for your Stony Silence, Pithing Needle, and Eidolon this is where Wear // Tear comes in. With 1 card you can take down all of those.
What you can do is Restore Balance when he named Nahiri so you can wipe the board when he Restoration Angel into something.

So mana wise, that's up to you. I can't help you out with configuration of mana.
How has new Karn worked? Can you give game highlights where he won or brought the game back in your favor?

Been playing this list for months at fnms, a pretty competitive place, been getting a ton of 3-1’sand 4-0’s with literally a couple 2-2’s.
It’s pretty close ari lax’s list.
Notable exclusions:
Jtms- makes the mana base much worse and isn’t as impactful as Nahiri.
Gideon of the trials- WW is hard to do and the pay off is just not really there.
Kiora, the crashing wave- not very impact full and just kept losing with it in playing thinking “ajani v would have won this.”
Blood moon- my opponents are just prepared, and ghostly prison is way better
The list I’ve been playing is more or less what I’ve been one maybe about cards change. Sometimes I play a bring to light in there, sometimes a supreme will, sometimes some as fortold number 4 (pretty sure 3 is right), sometimes spicy one ofs.
Restore balance:
1 Breeding Pool
4 Flooded Strand
2 Island
1 Mountain
1 Plains
1 Sacred Foundry
4 Scalding Tarn
1 Steam Vents
1 Windswept Heath
1 Ajani Vengeant
4 Ardent Plea
3 As Foretold
2 Beast Within
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
3 Fieldmist Borderpost
3 Firewild Borderpost
2 Ghostly Prison
4 Greater Gargadon
2 Leyline of Sanctity
4 Nahiri, the Harbinger
4 Restore Balance
4 Simian Spirit Guide
4 Violent Outburst
3 Wildfield Borderpost
Sideboard:
2 Leyline of Sanctity
4 Leyline of the Void
1 Nevermore
2 Radiant Flames
3 Ricochet Trap
3 Wear // Tear
Basic play pattern is:
Balance number one keeps you from losing, balance 2-3 wins you the game (sometimes number two stops the comeback). Because of this I’m big on 4 restores and no less than 2 as fortolds main. You just need to be sure balance them a ton.
My person best is balancing the same poor sap 9 times thanks to emrakul shuffles.
Side note: I personally disagree with the notion that this deck muligans poorly, it’s a classic combo deck, and at the end of the day you just need three mana and a cascader. Knowing the matchup is big
I’m really big on the wear//tear against those fast match ups your just really buying time to balance and turn two is usually good enough.
Against infect you are REALLY looking for a spirit guide hand most of the time anyways as the winning line.
The destroy enchantment is also super important against things like boggles or removing hate cards like white idolon
Hey all! I just stumbled across this forum today after getting back into MTG and reconstructing my Restore Balance list. Like most other basic lists, my main wincon is Greater Gargadon and/or March of the Machines beatdown. In my list though, I run a one-of Gavony Township for whatever creatures I may have after I boardwipe. For the most part, the card is surprisingly successful, however I have noticed some downsides, such as needing to hold onto it until a solid restore balance hits and needing about another turn in order for it to benefit your boardstate, and not being able to bounce it with borderposts. I found it works extremely well with Violent Outburst as it allows me to boardwipe on an opponents turn, and allows me plop out March of the Machines, (ideally) swing for 9 with GG, and on my next turn Gavony Township. I am wondering if anyone here has ever tried it out and if so, what their thoughts on it were. Thanks!
So a lot of people have moved away from March due to the downside of it. While having 3/3s is nice, once they're out they cannot produce Mana for us, and they are very fragile. As you said so your self you need to hold on to a balance to make it work.
As for township you're the first person to run it. I personally run Bow of Nyael because it works the same since I only use GG as my creature if you don't count Emrakul.
But that's what this deck is all about flexibility. If it works for you keep it. But with my lgs so much removal and wipes run rampant I can't run either of those two pieces.

I'm not totally dismissing the idea. In general, the Restore Balance list include cascaders, but there are As Foretold versions as well. You haven't clarified that you are pointing towards that build, thus my response. At that blank note, that will be my immediate response. But as you elaborated well, I get the picture of what you are trying to build. Sorry for that.
I mean we're talking about a card that sacrifices lands to gain life for restore balance.
(...)
But hey dude, you're totally right. Dismiss anything different immediately.
While your approach to brewing is fine, your attitude sucks.
So, let's review Dark Heart of the Wood. It's BG but it's 2 CMC means that we absolutely have to play As Foretold to even be able to cast Restore Balance. So we're in Sultai.
If we want a proper clock (Restore Balance' biggest problem is finding a wincon), we have to play white & red for Nahiri, the Harbinger and Greater Gargadon. This means we're suddenly 5 colors.
We also could stay Sultai and play planeswalkers as wincon... wait a minute. We could do that.
how about new Vraska, Golgari Queen.
I think its very good in jund(RGBw) restore balance deck.
+2 can sacrifice the land
-3 can destroy chalice or Lily or some annoying permanent
I've been reading articles here for awhile now and decided I could probably put some input as i've been piloting this deck recently to some success here in the Philippines.
I'm not too experienced with this deck, but she has some incredible abilities for the deck. She blows up your lands/creatures for card draw and lifegain, her second ability takes out threats your opponent can squeeze in or that threaten your end game, and even her ultimate could potentially end the game much faster with march of the machines or even lingering souls. I'm gonna try taking out a GG for a one of, I think she could work incredibly well.
While playing Vraska, Golgari Queen is an interesting idea. Personally I think Nahiri, the Harbinger is just better. Nahiri is the same CMC and fits into my colors better, she is better at cycling cards with her +2 than Vraska is, arguably as good at getting rid of problematic permanents as Vraska is, and has a much more devastating ultimate. Playing Vraska forces you to also play something like Lingering Souls or March of the Machines while all Nahiri needs is a one of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn who also has the potential upside of letting you reuse Restore Balance.
But I could also be completely wrong so I'd love to hear how it goes for you.
