If you happen to add kolaghans command in the deck you can also use goblin dark dwellers to cast k command and return another card to hand and deal 2 damage. Adding just the 2 dark dwellers is a HUGE deal in terms of longevity in this deck. Eternal witness is another option for the sideboard. If you know there will be shattering spree and the like eternal witness can grab some borderposts from the yard!

What do people think of the new Tamiyo, Field Researcher for this deck? The +1 is a great stall post balance as they will not want to give us card advantage (it should be noted that you can also use this on your own creatures AND that it's any combat damage). The -2 is another great stall, and the ultimate needs no explanation.
I've been lurking here for a while and working on a build for this deck as I think it's a lot of fun.
Great list TG_Vindicare, I have a couple questions though.
Have you had similar success at larger tournaments? What is your usual metagame? Have you found it fine to not play with any Spirit Guides? And what is the main purpose for Bow of Nylea? (I would think you don't need to recycle any balances due to the Dark Dwellers)
A thought came to me tonight. Maybe we have been going at this all wrong. You see, I've been looking at this deck in a super linear way, trying to "solve" the deck.
What if that is the wrong approach? What if this is one archetype with three to four sub archetypes?
What if that is the actual strength here? You can't hate out what you can't fully anticipate.
In the future, depending on card to be yet printed we may have a solved deck... but that seems far off.

My Modern decks: B/R/G Living End G/R/B G/R Tron R/G U/W/G/R Gargageddon R/G/W/U R/W/G Naya Burn G/W/R
After having tried the borderpost version + BTL without much success, I recently battled a balance deck with nahiri/emrakul (pretty much looking like the list of Ryan Cubit) and found it amazingly good. Here is my own take:
I've seen people start to include Anguished Unmaking and Maelstrom Pulse in their lists...are those really better than Beast Within? Beast Within is an instant, is easier on the mana and it hits lands (yours and your opponents). And it can be used as a less-than-elegant finisher if needed. I've won with quite a few Spirit Guides beats and 3/3 Beast beats when I didn't draw a "real" finisher. The 3 life loss on Anguished Unmaking is painful, especially with some Dismembers. The exiling isn't too relevant either, is anyone playing something that is indestructible? I can see Maelstrom Pulse being able to 2-for-1 or 3-for-1 your opponent if they have multiple copies of something or have a token strategy...but the sorcery speed part makes me
I also see the merits of Mardu charm. It can destroy a pesky creature or add two chump blockers to buy time (or block + sac to Gargadon) or maybe even double team and surprise kill a x/2 creature with the first strike. The Duress option probably isn't too exciting...So the first two modes are ok, but isn't their something better? I would just feel better with Dismember. It's more painful, but easier to cast and faster interaction.
And after playing a few Goblin Dark-Dwellers myself, I can concur that they are sweet. A nice pick up for the deck to be certain.
Long-time lurker on this site, but have not posted until now. I've been on this archetype only since Ryan Cubit won that event in Australia early last month with his postless list, so my experience is limited, but I do have a slightly different build that eschews blue in order to be as mana efficient as possible. The list:
I tried the blue version Cubit used, but I didn't like the mana, so I replaced Ardent Plea with Demonic Dread and Riftwing Cloudskate with Nihilith to stabilize the mana. Blood Moon is a ***** for our four-colorness, but search for tomorrow fixes that, and it replaces the subpar Baloth. Nihilith(it should be noted that Nihilith was part of the OP decklist on this thread) is an evasive beater that resolves from suspend way sooner than opponents expect given that so many of their cards hit the yard when we go off; plus the "may" ability makes sure we never lose a Nihilith to our own sweepers. It makes a fast enough clock that I have outraced a Tarmogoyf with just one Nihilith for the win against Jund. Speaking of Jund, this list is very strong against Jund and Infect; the jund players in my meta sincerely belief RB is one of their most difficult matchups. Unfortunately, we really struggle against super-fast aggro like Burn and Zoo, especially spell-based RDW-style decks. These sorts of matchups are where I lose the most, hence the Finks (the newest addition; I figure it can also provide a body or two to sac to Gargadon). The control matchup seems pretty even; Outburst EOT into Dread during your turn wrecks them, and Ricochet Trap and GDD from the board are just awesome. Six cards for burn in the board, plus Chewers for Chalice of the Void on 0 and/or Affinity, and Ravenous Trap for Dredge.
Going forward, there are still 8 slots that remain up for debate: 4x Search, the 2x Finks, and the 2x Beast Within, although a strong case would have to be made to remove Search as it fixes mana, enables turn 3 nahiri more often, and provides another land to sac to Gargs. Mardu Charm, Maelstrom Pulse and most recently Vendillion Clique was mentioned for these slots (although my list isn't blue ATM I am really down with the outside the box nature of that choice); what do you think would be optimal for those slots here?
The thing about Vendilion Clique is that it helps deal with what I view as a huge problem, your Restore Balances getting Remanded. You can Clique yourself to put it back in your deck and get a replacement, and then you have an evasive threat that's big enough that it forces your opponent to deal with it, but still dies easily enough that you shouldn't have to worry about your opponent to getting to keep a creature if you don't have a Gargadon to sacrifice to.
My local meta is very blue heavy, so it might be a meta/sideboard thing but I really like it so far.
I'm not an expert at the deck, however, I like running Forbidden Orchard in my Jund list. This allows me to ensure there is a creature on board for Demonic Dread to target. You might consider it over Gemstone Mine for that synergy, just a thought.
@griffinpride23: Good tech! Although I think a lot of Jund lists are also using white for Nahiri/Ajani, so they get to play Lingering Souls to ensure some targets for Demonic Dread. It's also just a great card to discard to a Balance or Nahiri. But Forbidden Orchard is also extra insurance+mana fixing, good find!
Good point on the Dread; that's another point in favor of Ardent Plea. Even though we usually have creatures to target when we go off, I think I will try running this blue version this week:
IMHO Ryan Cubit and Finespoo decklist in non border restore balance is good and you should try it. In my exp to pilot this deck is not an easy task.
Please share your exp pilot this deck.
Many thanks in advanced.
Note Pascal Maynard Played the deck and given up on this deck. Frank Lepore try to pilot this deck and he is too given up.
To be honest I do too this deck is really hard and still wonder how to play it although this deck Rank 1 in WMCQ Australia by Ryan Cubit.
So we have 2 professional mtg player confused how to pilot this deck and yet this deck rank 1 in wmcq australia, and 2 times 5-0 in mtgo modern league
