Does this sideboard seem adequate against an unknown meta, or is it too dated? The real question here is how good is aggro in modern in the death shadow meta and whether or not it is worth sideboarding heavily for death shadow. Death Shadow seems like such a bad matchup for ad nauseam to the point where it seems like boarding in specific cards for it like paths/push/godhead seems weak compared to boarding for other winnable matchups.

Little update from Vegas : Nycholas Bird is sitting at 5-4, out of day 2. Same for Bill Ragle at 3-6. Jonathan Benson, Jon Benavides and Noah Smithmier aren't there to my knowledge. Not a great showing here.
With DS being on top and really rough, Affinity a 50/50 matchup and Eldrazi Tron everywhere, we are not in a great spot right now. Dredge, I never know what to expect (nothing from their side and easy win or huge turn 2-3 swarm with a buch of 2/1 creatures) and Storm is also a 50/50 matchup (it's the dice roll that decides who win if both player know how to play). So not a surprise our tenors didn't do much. But we'll be back

Playing both decks, storm definitely is favored if they are smart. A storm player can simply combo leaving up lands and find multiple copies of remands or dispels to play around angel's grace and phyrexian unlife is completely useless against them. The only way ad nauseam can beat storm is to hold up pact of negation then combo off that next turn.
Dispel and Remand don't play around Angel's Grace because of Split Second, unless you mean Remanding their own Grapeshot in response to the Grace to use next turn. The counters do play around the combo itself though.
I like Mercy but, much like the black one in the cycle, the cost of not untapping may be too high.. also it would seem best against burn but they run Skullcrack and occasionally Atarka's Command, and that MU is usually pretty favorable anyway.

No, I mean getting remands/dispels and leaving up lands so when they do angel's grace, they can just counter ad nauseam if you attempt to combo off on your turn.
You can't die with Unlife but shuts down prisms though.
+ Anti druid combo
+ Anti infect
+ Anti modular
Can't play Gemstone Mine either. I don't think infect is played enough for this to matter, and druid combo and affinity can just kill you before you even get the chance to play one of these
I wouldn't say it's anti-Druid combo, because you get infinite mana with Druid and Solemnity. It does shut down infinite damage with Ballista though. It also shuts down the Archangel of Thune Spike Feeder infinite life combo.
I like the new enchantment a lot and I like what it does but I feel that it is too niche unfortunately.
I agree Tom, the meta definitely seems against Ad Nauseam at the moment. Still gonna be the deck I want to take to GP even if Storm and Titanshift are better.

I think that Infect being gone is the best thing on earth for us, but the problem is that now :
1) There are faster combo decks out there (Storm can just swarm the board with 10 goblins on turn 3 while we go off on turn 4 / Vizier combos are really resilient and have alternative ways of winning with large board presence). Even Titanshift (that I don't like) is on the rise.
2) Eldrazi Tron is unmanageable because of the quick pressure while DS is tempo/discard on 18-23% of the field (Esper, Jund, Grixis). Discard is the second worst thing after Infect, but BG/x midrgange wasn't particularly a fast deck. Now, DS is having the same discard, but with a faster clock.
3) We are limited in interaction and the meta needs direly to have interactive decks.
We must know the ins and outs of each matchups : it's the knowledge that might help us day 2 a GP.
But the cant die combo with unlife looks awesome.
Maybe side against decks that dont play decay or enchantment removal?
problem with solemnity is that they just have to remove unlife to win, and even with decks that dont have enchantment removal, you now have to assemble another piece of the puzzle? To get the "unlife lock" when you would rather have another combo piece to combo off if you already have unlife or you draw solemnity and no unlife in play or hand

Cheers!
I'm hoping to do just that! Deck feels terrible in testing but often does really well when I actually need it to so I'm hoping that GP works out the same way lol all I can do is hope. Gonna change my sideboard nearer the time based on what I expect. I changed my mainboard back to a stock list fairly recently too as I had added too many changes to the list that I felt it wasn't performing.
I've almost fully foiled mine, all I need to do now is quad sleeve it

Just stumbled upon this article/primer by a guy who like a few of us here only plays Ad Nauseam.
This is actually a really good read and has a fairly detailed sideboard guide based on his list. I like it a lot and would like to know your opinions on his decision. I also love the teachings alongside the spoils, been tempted to do that for a while myself.
4 tech lands main, I'm not even running that anymore! I'd prefer to have 3-4 fetches in there, but Flink's crafted is own list. You can see from the deck tech that Dark Petition became Mystical Teachings and 3 Peer through Depths became Spoils of the Vault. For sure, I prefered his list from 2015.
Glorious End is a card that needs some testing : Gideon is pretty much useless for us (we don't need that card), but Glorious End is the only card that has caught my eye since like 1 year.

I had played a few games with glorious end at occasional fnm for fun, but i used it sort of like a fog, it was great when opponent waited to cast stuff 2nd main phase and i glorious end during combat otherwise, its meh.if i was going off the following turn it would be great. If not i would have to waste a grace and in this instant i would have much rather graced last turn than use glorious end. if glorious end was 1 or even 2cmc it would be better. And the issue is that ive had glorious end countered lol and that i have to leave mana up to cast or waste prism counters on it

Choose one:
Counter unless controller pays 3
Look at the top 4, choose one, rest on the bottom.
Basically Leak or Impulse on 1 card for 1 more.
I plan on trying it as a one of at the very least and going down to 3 Unlife since Unlife is so bad in multiples.
Being able to put 3 cards on the bottom makes Spoils less dangerous of a gamble as well.
Thoughts? I feel like it would be crazy to not at least try it. I might actually do 2 of them and cut to 2 Spoils.
