Zero Titanshift in the top 16 GP Hong Kong and top 28 GP Stockholm. Is the deck a bad choice in the current meta, or a great one moving forward ? I have a mixed feeling on this. Both GPs have 50% of control and/or Tron decks, which is a good MU for Titanshift but at the same time aggro decks like Humans/Spirits/Hardened Scales kinda difficult for us.
Probably just because of the sheer volume of other decks people are playing. I'd say we are still in a solid meta position, because while we have lacking matchups vs aggro decks, tron and control decks are still frequently played. Creature-based aggro also gets a lot easier postboard, or if you are running lists with Bloodbraid Elf/Wood Elves. Our only ridiculously bad matchups are linear combo decks like Storm or AdNaus.
I'm thinking about how to improve the bad matchups like Ad Nauseam and Storm, but aside Damping Sphere for Storm, I don't see any combo hoser that we could include (maybe Surgical for graveyard hate). Thoughts?
EDIT : I read the primer, but I'm looking at tips and stuff from outside the box maybe !
Unless Ad Naus is common in your meta, I'd not worry about it. I hardly ever see it, its not really popular. I guess damping shere is good for that and storm, but I'd rather have something like Relic since it also hits KCI, Hallow One, and other graveyard based strategies
I run 2 Damping Sphere and 2 Guttural Response : I have a lot of control and combo deck in my meta. I don't see any graveyard based strategy, maybe Dredge once in a while, but that's it. Thanks for the input guys !
Kind of a repost:
Hey guys, I've been lurking this thread for quite a while, and although after watching this deck it seems to have some interaction, I'm not sure...
Does this deck have a good amount of interaction? Or will it feel "always the same" after a while?
Also, is there a consensus of the best combination of colors to build the deck with?

Titanshift is a RG deck, that's the best color combination. About it's interaction, they are limited in game 1 to removal (Lightning Bolt and Slagstorm/Anger of the Gods) or some GY interaction with Relic. Post-board, it depends on what you have in the sideboard. It gets a bit more interactive with Obstinate Baloth, Nature's Claim, Guttural Response against control, etc. In the end, it's a combo deck in which you win with A) Scapeshift and 7-8 lands or B) with Primeval Titan. So it's somehow linear. But less than Ad Nauseam or Storm I'd say.
Hey everyone, preparing for a 10k and I figured I'd post my list for consideration, had great success so far with lists along these lines, so I'll probably only move around 1-3 cards.
@ n0bunga : Carnage Tyrant could be a sideboard tech. Thrun, the Last Troll is pretty good too against control. Humans matchup is hard, Jeskai control is average and Dredge seems variable : if they are fast, you're in trouble, but if you have mass removal like Anger in your mainboard, then it's okay. It depends on your configuration.
I'll try Harmonize for some major card draw as well as Bloodbraid Elf. I'll be running 2. How many BBE are you guys running ?
Personally I think Humans is favored around 60%. I am something like 15-2 vs. the deck with Titanshift, although I have always played at least 1 Roast in the SB during these matches and up to 3 in some cases.
Jeskai is around 50% in my experience, although many state that it's hard to lose. I haven't found that to be the case, but I am all right with being wrong and just unlucky in this matchup.
Dredge was always a good matchup for Titanshift. I'm not sure how much Creeping Chill changes, but this one should be at least 60% in my experience, although I've been lucky to do much better than that (much like the my Humans matches).
Tireless Tracker is all the draw you need. I would not run Harmonize anywhere in the 75.

Round 1 vs. BUG Thopter Sword. Punt game 1, as I wait to sacrifice 2 Sakura-Tribe Elder and do double Scapeshift on the same turn, hoping he can't double counter them. But he does Whir of Invention for Sword after he already had Thopter Foundry out (big clue to me, duh!). Then he does Time Sieve and goes infinite. I assumed that he didn't play Time Sieve since I hear it's a win-more, but it saved him here because I could have done literally gobs and gobs of damage. In the next 2 games, I have enough disruption and the finisher in Prime Time both times to win. Had triple Prime Time in game 1, but after Ass Trophy and a ramp spell + land by me, it was over. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Zoo splash Ass Trophy. Kill some of his creatures and have enough to get there with Prime Time. Lose to Dromoka's Command and some creatures, finishing with double Bolt in game 2. Got there with removal and Prime Time once again in the final game. 2-1.
Round 3 vs. Burn. He draws 2 lands and has me down to 6 life with multiple cards in hand, but I get there. I went for my 3rd Bloodbraid Elf into Bolt for exact lethal, but he had Lightning Helix to put me to 3. He had 4 cards in hand and 2 lands in play, so I assume some number of Searing Blaze and possibly a 3rd Rift Bolt (considering he got rid of 2 the first 2 turns). In the next game, he floods out, I get Bolt and Sweltering Suns for some creatures and then I land Obstinate Baloth. I Scapeshift for lethal, but he has Deflecting Palm as his last card. I get him easily next turn at a still safe life total. Good draws 2 weeks in a row vs. this guy. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Amulet Titan. We ID'd since we were the only 3-0s. We played for fun and I won 2-0. Blocked a double strike lethal Titan with my Titan, then paid Summoner's Pact and top decked Scapeshift to win. In the next game, I once again have the lethal Scapeshift after ramping like crazy and dodging Prime Time, Summoner's Pact, and Tolaria West. Lucky, lucky. 0-0-3.
I go 3-0-1, which felt pretty good after 2-6 my last 2 outings here.

Apart from UW control / Burn which can be a toss up, Titanshift is rather favored against the top of the meta now - Dredge, Humans, Tron, Spirits, BGX....

Hmmmm.
Exactly.
My first choice for FNM was Bogles to hedge strongly against Dredge AND Burn, but a friend wanted to borrow it. I decided on Titanshift with the Crumble to Dust taken out for Kitchen Finks in the sideboard. (Crumble is pretty outdated anyway; just love crushing Tron) It also didn't hurt that Titanshift crushes GB and specifically the card Assassin's Trophy. I lost my chance at store credit last week on Bogles with my opponent at 1 life in Game 3 when I could not draw Spirit Mantle, Path to Exile, a singleton Gryff's Boon, or even Ethereal Armor, Daybreak Coronet, Rancor to make it easier. The first 3 would have won the game at most points. Spirit Mantle or Gryff's Boon would have won it at any point that the game was still going. Sad times. I was looking forward to playing this guy, but he lucked out in the pairings.
I feel a bit badly because I was a Debbie Downer after getting knocked from Top 8 contention a few months ago with Titanshift. I just felt so helpless vs. the top decks of Hollow One and the complete KCI matchup. But like you said, Titanshift is probably pretty well positioned right now.
*For me, I was happy to see 2 Primeval Titan decks get the 3-0-1s last night. Played with my Prime Time play mat that a friend gave me as well!

The KCI / Hollow One meta was pretty tough, but the deck is just under the radar now. With a few concessions to aggro decks, I feel that it can take down a big event anytime.

Hello guys! I have recently started testing this deck! What's the general idea about having BBE in the list?
I have tested a list with 4 of them but something it felt a bit useless, especially when cascading cards like green pact! So I was thinking to drop to 3 of them!
What are your thoughts on Khalni Heart Expedition? 3 from the list that 3rd place at SCG Charlotte but 0 in the decks four decks that made top 32 in GP Atlanta.
My thoughts are this,Dredge was much more of a threat at Charlotte and she was playing 3 sweepers main deck with 3 Explores. The reason why Khali works so well is that Explore ramps and also helps you get deeper into your deck to find an answer to your opponent. Explore works really well with Khalni as well, since all you need is one fetch land and any other land to activate it. It makes kills faster with both Titan and Scapeshift.
The downside however is that it could be a dead card and by itself, something like Farseek is just better than both Explore and Khalni. I think 3 might be too many, but I'm not sure yet. Im going to go with 2 explore 2 Khalni and 2 Farseek.
Im also going with 0 Wood elves, 0 BBE, and 0 Growth Spasm. BBE is good in a fair meta, but right now, linear combo is king, even at my local meta, and i think we need to be even faster, which Khalni helps with
