I haven't played Titanshift for a while now. I tried to copy most of what I liked from the top 32 Modern Challenge list. It had 2 Growth Spasm, but I felt like I had enough ramp already, so I cut 1 for the Thragtusk. It had Bloodbraid Elf, so I assumed it's still good. I could play Hour of Promise over it to have more win conditions, but I often feel like I run into these odd Prison type decks where ramp and Scapeshift become dead really quickly. So I didn't want to make myself less prone to that. I felt like I had enough win cons already. I also wanted more game against Jeskai and UW Control.

I'm on Khalni Heart right now and mainly trying to goldfish 7 lands on Turn 4. 5 sweepers, 4 bolts in my 75 with some baloths and pulse of murasa to buy time.
I just have a Rec Sage maindeck and and additional one in the SB for the not infrequent g1 blood moons.
Otherwise, screw interacting, just let me scapeshift asap

What is your current list looking like?
The growth spasm is something im trying out. There is an excellent write up about the bbe growth spasm list on channelfireball. I guess the spasm is there to provide a blocker or a turn 4 titan with land drop for the turn.
It is also a card hit with BBE which adds value. Im going to test it some and see how it plays. Not entirely sure on BBE either but thats just at first galance.
Played at a 35 person FNM. Capped at 4 rounds as usual.
Round 1 vs. Lantern. Nice! Can't avoid playing against some Prison deck when I play Titanshift. In the first game, I mull to 5 and he mulls to 6, but he gets the Lantern on turn 1 and Codex Shredder and family the next turn and beyond. He does Whir of Invention for Witchbane Orb in response to Scapeshift and I just get a bunch of fetches, so I have "redraws." It almost gets me a Prime Time, but not quite. In the next game, he mulls to 6 again. I keep a great 7 and ramp quickly with a Tireless Tracker too. I also have an Ancient Grudge in hand which I did not have to use, although it was tempting on the Codex Shredder and Lantern. He got an Inquisition of Kozilek on the final turn to see my Ancient Grudge AND Beast Within in hand. In the final game, I ramp quickly and have Beast Within and Summoner's Pact (Rec Sage) in case he got an Ensnaring Bridge since he had a Welding Jar out. He didn't draw the Bridge, but it felt good to have backup. Got there. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Titanshift mirror. I mull to 5. I scry Scapeshift to the top because my hand is 3 lands and 2 ramp spells. On turn 4, I can draw a land or a ramp spell to Scapeshift for lethal. He has just played a Prime Time. I draw … Prime Time. Usually it's good to draw this, but it was one of the few "outs" to LOSE and I do. In the next game, he has Blood Crypt to turn 3 Slaughter Games my Prime Times. He hasn't played in a while, so he's on the Slaughter Games SB, which I've considered before since it's such a beating to decks, but absolutely terrible in the current meta and at a GP, I would most likely side them 0 times. Then he does a lethal Scapeshift to kill me. 0-2.
Round 3 vs. RG Breach. Another one! Nice. In the first game, his ramp is slow. He does SSG for a Prime Time, but I have Scapeshift and I win. In the next game, I am actually dead on board to his Breached Titan, but he makes a mistake in getting a 3rd Valakut and Mountain instead of just 2 Mountains to 12 me. I'm at 17 life and only have Sakura-Tribe Elder as a blocker and 5 lands. Instead I don't block and go to 2. I top deck Scapeshift and it's game. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Grixis Control. This should be an easy matchup with all of the creatures and Bloodbraid Elf in my deck, right? Nope. I think I've lost to this guy the past 6 times we've played. I usually write down what the best cards he can have in his hand and I rarely have been wrong on a single card. He does Thought Scour into turn 2 Tasigur after winning the die roll. I have a Tribe Elder to block, but I keep getting Titan flooded and he has a million Logic Knot and Cryptic Command. This was the first game in a while that we played where he had fewer than 4 Cryptic Command in a game (he had 3). In the next game, he does the same exact plays, except Disdainful Stroke instead of Logic Knot and I DO draw a Bloodbraid Elf when I'm at 7. Doesn't matter, a Creeping Tar Pit attacks, I Lightning Bolt with my last card, he uses his 2nd Countersquall after his 4th Snapcaster Mage flashed back another Countersquall on Scapeshift the following turn. Must … be … nice. Only 1 Cryptic Command from him this game, so I'm a bit upset to lose since I guessed wrongly on 3 of his cards in hand. 0-2.
2-2. Rough finish. This is the thing that scares me most about Titanshift. I assume at the GP, I'll play the mirror and Prison decks for 13 rounds. Probably won't see a single Humans or Company deck. I think Titanshift is played at around 1% and that percent kind of scares me since the mirror is really just about who ramps best and has a payoff. I haven't seen anyone except the guy in Round 3 (occasionally) play any Valakut decks in the past 6 months.

I didn't do well. I actually got pretty owned this past Friday. I am used to doing better, although I have a helpless feeling against the guy that I faced in the last round, despite shuffling his deck like a mother****er. There's no reason for me to guess every single one of his cards. It's at the point where I can nearly guess exactly which land he'll play too. That's bad, considering I don't even know his deck list.

Round 1 vs. GR Tron. Seemed like a newer player. I ramped and he missed Tron on turn 3. He got Ugin, the Spirit Dragon on turn 4, so when I did Prime Time, I did 2 triggers so that it couldn't exile my Prime Time. He actually got an Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger after I landed Prime Time. He exiled 2 Valakut, which should have obviously been the Prime Time and a Valakut. I drew Scapeshift and it was over. In the next game he got Karn Liberated. He played a 2nd one after I used resources to lower the one he had. Then he got a 3rd Karn. The funny part is that the Scapeshift in my hand could have done 18 to him, but he was at 24 life from a Wurmcoil Engine. In the final game, I ramped really hard and he didn't have anything but a Thragtusk. That's not getting it done. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. 4 Color Pyromancer/Traverse. He Inquisitioned my ramp to slow me, then Lingering Souls and Bloodbraid Elf X 2 to finish me off. I tried to do Bloodbraid Elf to find Sweltering Suns, but it found Lightning Bolt only. I had another, but literally only Thragtusk let me live the turn, so I did, but he cast a 3rd Bloodbraid Elf to push lethal. In the next game, his Inquisition of Kozilek got my Sakura-Tribe Elder and I didn't draw a single land this game. I got stuck on 4 because he Fulminator Maged a land. I got stuck with Obstinate Baloth, double Bloodbraid Elf, and double Prime Time. I played the Obstinate Baloth, but died on the swing of Bloodbraid Elves and a Bolt from hand. 0-2.
Round 3 vs. Jund. He did some discard into Lily into Bloodbraid Elves, but I top decked Scapeshift when I was dead on board to a 5/6 Tarmogoyf and his land draw for the turn to activate Raging Ravine (I'm at 6 and he also has a LotV at 3). Lucky top deck! In the next game, he plays Treetop Village into Swamp and some discard but my hand is too strong. I am going to ramp up to Prime Time super quickly, but I end up doing Scapeshift instead when I draw it for lethal. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Affinity. Not sure what happened. This was the friend of the guy from Round 1 and it was the first time I'd seen them here. He left early, so I got the win. Kind of wanted to play it out as practice for Vegas since this matchup is very 50/50 in my experience and I wanted to see how to improve it. 2-0.
I get 3-1 for the millionth time. I haven't gotten 4-0 since Bogles, but I've been trying. Got a 2-2 and a million 3-1s in the past 4 months here. The meta seemed SUUUUPER good for Titanshift today. I saw Tron play vs. Affinity next to me, Abzan Counters vs. Value Town after that, and Jund "spice" vs. 4 Color Pyromancer at Table 1. Affinity is probably the worst matchup of these at 50/50...

Round 1 vs. Humans. He played some dudes, a Mantis Rider, and then 2 Thalia's Lieutenants and my hand was too slow. In the next game, he has a board, but natural Valakut kills a Meddling Mage on Prime Time with a land drop to let me play the Prime Time that I just drew. In the next game, he had only 2 Horizon Canopy and only played Noble Hierarchs and Thalia's Lieutenants. I do Anger of the Gods and then chump block a 4/4 Lieutenant. Then I play Prime Time the following turn and out draw him from here. 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Merfolk. One of 2 friends I came with. I get him with Scapeshift in the first game after he got several Spreading Seas, although I kept getting Green sources, so it was no problem. In the next game, he got stuck on Mutavault and Island and I played everything I could. He had 3 Deprive in hand! 2-0.
Round 3 vs. BUG. He drew all the discard, Snapcaster Mages, and double Tarmogoyf to finish my weak hand off. In the next game, I come to a crossroads with a Goyf and make a potential mistake. I had a turn where I was taking hits, but didn't play Tireless Tracker at 7 mana because I may draw a land next turn. I ended up drawing a Summoner's Pact, so instead of going for Prime Time, I did a Bloodbraid Elf. It cascaded into Lightning Bolt to kill his Snapcaster Mage, leaving him with a lethal Goyf, but he did Fatal Push on the Tracker and Murderous Cut on Bloodbraid Elf and swung for lethal. If Prime Time had resolved, which I didn't think it would, I could have done 6 to the Goyf from Valakut triggers and went to 1 from the Mage. I should have just played the Tracker the turn before, but NOT playing it kind of set me up to not just search for the Prime Time with the Pact. Oh well. 0-2.
Round 4 vs. Grixis Control. Same Grixis Control player from above. It looks like playing in Round 4 is going to be our little ritual. He does turn 2 Tasigur and counters the few things of importance that I cast. In the next game, it is similar, but double Surgical Extraction take out Prime Time and Valakut. I get there with Obstinate Baloth and a Bloodbraid Elf. The final game is similar to game 1, but he makes a misplay in fetching a Steam Vents instead of a Blood Crypt and it cost him, as he escalated a Collective Brutality that he drew and ended up just shy of lethal. Then my Tireless Tracker made him chump block with Tasigur and he scooped a turn later. FOUR clues! First time in a while beating this guy or him not drawing the nuts, so it felt somewhat good. 2-1.
I finish 3-1 for the millionth time here. Kind of disappointed in losing Round 3, but probably made a mistake in Game 3 that cost me.

Round 1 vs. RG Eldrazi. He has some Thought-Knot Seers and Reality Smashers, but I have chump blockers into Prime Times. Big daddy is too big for those cards. I also got a Scapeshift in the nick of time in the first game. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. Mardu Reveler. He does Blood Moon after some discard and ends up getting there after my only 2 threats cast are 2 Bloodbraid Elves. I cast 4 Sakura-Tribe Elder this game. He just had too many tokens. In the next game, once again, Blood Moon rears it's ugly head. I only have a Tireless Tracker and lands, but if the Tireless Tracker was earlier, it looked like he wouldn't have been able to kill it. He said he had Bolt, but I had a lot of land and Sakura-Tribe Elders out, so I could make it have a 4 toughness to survive at instant speed. 0-2.
Round 3 vs. Death and Taxes. I win the first game pretty easily after he mulls to 6 and has no clock. Prime Time. In the next game, I'm about to win, but Sea Gate Wreckage wins it for him, as his last 6 draws are 3 Restoration Angel, 1 Path to Exile, and 2 lands. I draw only lands and scoop since Prime Time is not enough. In the final game, I don't draw enough Red cards, so I can't kill enough of his stuff and he gets there with a top decked 3rd Aven Mindcensor that made my draws of lands and ramp every turn be very bad. I think I hit on 2 out of 9 times. Really, really rough loss. 1-2.
Round 4 vs. budget BW Tokens. I mulled to 5 and got stuck on 1 land, but he had only a few 1/1 tokens. I eventually got a 2nd land and played a million ramp spells, culminating with Sakura-Tribe Elder and Scapeshift on the same turn for lethal with him at 17. He was new to Modern and laughed at how much damage it was. He also asked me if I was playing "Dredge," to which I said, no, Titanshift. In the next game, he at least had a clock, but the lack of discard that he had made it really rough for him. I got Prime Time off and it was over after he Path to Exiled it. 2-0.
I finish 2-2. It was pretty sad to lose the middle rounds, especially the way I lost them.

I played in a 40 person Modern Staples tournament today.
Round 1 vs. Burn. He mulled to 6. I mulled to 5. I just didn't draw anything much but lands. Scapeshift may have gotten me there had I drawn a single ramp spell. Bolt of Sweltering Suns would have been nice. In the next game, he stalls out after I had turn 3 Obstinate Baloth. He has a card in hand and I'm at 1 life. I can't fetch, but if I draw Scapeshift, it's over. I don't and he draws another card. TWO Monastery Swiftspear to do the final point of damage through my Baloth for game. 0-2.
Round 2 vs. BW Gideons. This is 1 of 2 guys who came from my LGS, separately. His discard doesn't line up well and his clock is slow. I do Prime Time to win it next turn, although I did have Scapeshift too. In the next game, he gets some pressure, but I find a land for Scapeshift with 6 lands in play and Sakura-Tribe Elder. 2-0.
Round 3 vs. RG Eldrazi. The other guy from my LGS that came with the Round 2 opponent. He usually plays Burn, but I heard him talking about RG Eldrazi, so we talked for a while about Modern in between rounds. I Bolt his Noble Hierarch and he stalls on 2 lands while I ramp up to Prime Time and then Scapeshift. He scoops. In the next game, he gets a Thought-Knot Seer, but I have Baloth soon thereafter and I get Prime Time after playing my 2nd Valakut. He had a Crumble to Dust that I saw from Ancient Stirrings, but declined, which I assume is the right play since he needs to develop his board, but I had drawn the 2nd copy. Got there through a Smasher by then. Slow Smasher and not enough interaction. Easy peasy. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Jeskai. I mull to 6. He mulls to 5. I play ramp spells quickly and get 2 active Valakuts. He counters my knockout punches, but groups of 6 damage a turn get him to scoop. In the next game, things are going pretty well. I just Summoner's Pact for Thrun and had double Scapeshift in hand. But I FORGOT TO PAY MY PACT. Ugh. Been doing this a few times with Titanshift now. I probably would have won this one too. We get to the final game and he gets a Secure the Wastes for 3 and tries to get there, but I have threat after threat to counter until a Prime Time kills him. Got lucky after the game 2 PUNT. 2-0.
Round 5 vs. Jeskai. In the first game, we both mull to 6. I am not drawing a Green source and make a mistake of playing a Mountain instead of the 2nd Green source that I was trying to hide for next turn. I do Bloodbraid Elf into Sakura-Tribe Elder and he counters the Elder. I realize my mistake in playing the land before the BBE and scoop because I don't have double Green for Pact. In the next game, I mull to 5. He mulls to 6. I just get all of my stuff countered and he does a Secure the Wastes for 3 into Snapcaster Mage and 2 Cryptic Commands find him the Bolt/Lightning Helix to end it. Another mess up. 0-2.
Round 6 vs. Affinity. He gets Vault Skirge and then Etched Champion. I am scared because Cranial Plating is GG. He gets another Etched Champion, but it gives me some time. He gets a Arcbound Ravager, which is scary. He goes for Modular on an Etched Champion and I cycle Sweltering Suns into Lightning Bolt to End step Bolt him to 18 and then Summoner's Pact for Sakura-Tribe Elder, sacrifice it, and then Scapeshift for 18 lethal damage. Whew! In the next game, I made another big mistake. After doing an Anger of the Gods, he put counters on an Inkmoth Nexus. I didn't realize it was an Inkmoth Nexus, but that's fine. He attacked me to 7 poison with another land in play and Welding Jar. I forgot to Beast Within while he was tapped out and he animated it next turn to attack, to which I did Beast Within. He could have animated it again with itself and then sacrificed Welding Jar to save it. Then he could have killed me next turn. It took a good 4 turns after to kill him. 2-0.
I get in as the 8th seed as the only 4-2 with the best breakers. My round 1 and round 5 opponents top 8ed. My round 4 opponent was 9th by tiebreakers.
Top 8 vs. Humans. Okay, I played better here. He had a slow hand. His Noble Hierarch got Bolted and he had to play Reflector Mage. I think he needed a Rainbow land to cast Mantis Rider, but he told me that he didn't have those. I end up getting Prime Time and it's over soon after that. In the next game, his hand is just too slow, Sweltering Suns and Roast slow him, and I am nearly dead when Prime Time gets me there again. I am somewhat scared of a potential Image copying Prime Time, but it usually ends up not super good against Titanshift. 2-0.
Top 4 vs. GW Taxes. This matchup comes down to RED cards. I played Scapeshift in time to win when he had double Resto Angel and more on board. In the next game, I have to wait until I have 9 mana to play Scapeshift, pay 2 for Leonin Arbiter, and potentially pay 2 more if it's blinked. But he's hitting me with 2 Restoration Angel, although Obstinate Baloth is keeping Thalia and Leonin Arbiter from attacking. I finally pay 7 mana and he doesn't have a 3rd Resto Angel to slow me down and it's elementary from there. Scapeshift with 9 lands in play. 2-0.
Finals vs. Humans. In the first game, I Bolt the Noble Hierarch and he doesn't play a 2nd land drop the next turn, but only Champion of the Parish. I have a Sakura-Tribe Elder to chump into BBE to chump and then he plays a late game Meddling Mage naming Sweltering Suns, presumably because it wipes his board, except Champ, but I get Lightning Bolt back from Kitesail Freebooter and then kill everything. I draw land and play it to Scapeshift comfortably. In the next game, I get Tireless Tracker and even get 5 clues this game, but they all turn into lands this game and I lose. In the final game, he does turn 2 Meddling Mage, naming the Bolt in my hand. Then turn 3 Meddling Mage, naming the Anger of the Gods in my hand. But I ramp up and finally get Prime Time after an Obstinate Baloth keeps the fort down. The Prime Time easily gets me there. 2-1.
I finally win a 1st place. It feels pretty good after losing in the finals of a PPTQ with Standard Red and losing a bunch of top 8s recently. Finally, I finished it off, with the help of getting a LOT of good luck.

Played in another 42 person Modern for Staples. This one did not go too well. There were 5 other players from my LGS, including a guy who I have only faced (in Round 1) around 10 times before - all except once in Round 1. He plays Enchantress or now RW Enduring Ideal. I cannot beat that deck, especially with the draws that both of us have had in matches. I didn't want to play him or 1 other guy from my LGS that plays Mono Red Prison recently. I nearly wrote another deck list for the GW Company deck I brought since I assumed I'd play against both of them, but it was either play Company and not face them or play Titanshift and most likely face them. I chose the lesser of 2 evils. Can you guess what happened?
Round 1 vs. RW Enduring Ideal. I come off with ramp, Bloodbraid Elves, but he has the turn 4 Enduring Ideal. Also pregame Leyline of Sanctity. We go to the next game, as he assembles Phyrexian Unlife, Form of the Dragon, and many more. In the next game, he does TWO pregame Leyline of Sanctity. This is important. On his turn 5 when Lotus Bloom comes off suspend, I do Ancient Grudge, but he has Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to power out his last card in hand; Enduring Ideal. I cannot win after this. I draw 13 cards in the next few turns, hoping to draw Rec Sage and Beast Within immediately, but nope. Not close. Can't attack with a 14/13 Tireless Tracker because of Form of the Dragon. Kind of wish he had that 1 of in hand... 0-2.
Round 2 vs. Jund. Nice. A good matchup. In the first game, he does the normal discard, Bob, Lily, and we are on top deck mode. I draw a Bloodbraid Elf, but it is not enough. It would have been nice to get a win-con. In the next game, I do Summoner's Pact for Obstinate Baloth in response to his Lily. I get good stuff on board and have Scapeshift and Prime Time in hand and he (hopefully) can't take both after I kill Lily. In the final game, I get the board state down to Stomping Ground in my hand, 1 fetchland in play for me and Obstinate Baloth/Bloodbraid Elf in play. I swing him to 15 life and he draws Dark Confidant. He takes another hit, but draws a series of Bloodbraid Elf and Tireless Tracker after revealing lands. He did 7 reveals, getting only a Scavenging Ooze revealed to go to 1 life before getting back close. I drew non-Valakut lands and ramp. 4 Valakut, 4 Prime Time, 3 Scapeshift because 1 was discarded, and 1 Summoner's Pact because I used one earlier were all outs. Didn't get there. 1-2.
Round 3 vs. GB Elves. Long time Elves player. Good player. I Bolted a Heritage Druid and ramped up to Scapeshift on turn 4. In the next game, I kept on triple Lightning Bolt and Roast just to see what would happen. I had 2 Mountain and 1 Valakut. I drew a Mountain and 2 Valakut during this game and after Roasting and 3 Bolting creatures, I lost to a bunch of 1/1s and 2/2s. In the final game, he goes all in to put Elvish Archdruid and everything he has on board. It's a little less than lethal and I have a turn 4 Scapeshift lined up. But I draw Anger of the Gods and do it to be safe (his next draw on empty hand would have been lethal at a 2nd Archdruid) and then I do Scapeshift a turn later. 2-1.
Round 4 vs. GBr Elves. I do ramp up to turn 4 Scapeshift after he puts me at 8 life with lethal or nearly lethal in play. In the next game, it is similar, but Summoner's Pact for Prime Time. I kill him the next turn, but...I forgot to pay Pact. Since we had already started shuffling since he conceded, it was too late. Rough way to win and I need to pay Pacts, of which I cast a million today. 2-0.
Round 5 vs. Junk. Another guy from my LGS who I played yesterday on BW Gideons. In the first game, he gets enough pressure and I draw a few blanks to lose. Needed an active Valakut to go with those lands. Kind of like having a hamburger, but no cheese. He had turn 2 Liliana of the Last Hope. In the next game, I out midrange him, getting Scapeshift and winning. In the final game, he gets turn 2 Liliana of the Veil, but I eventually get an Obstinate Baloth out and then have more pressure than him. I have 2 Bloodbraid Elves and he has 1 Tarmogoyf when I'm at 10 and he's at 6. Both of us are empty handed. He draws land. I draw land, BUUUUT it is Valakut. He loses to 2 more Mountains. I eventually get those and kill him. Thank god he didn't draw a Scooze or something else. 2-1.
Round 6 vs. Green Tron. He's a fun guy that I see sometimes at these events. He asks me if I want to (both) keep no matter what. I say, fine. I have no ramp, but Prime Time and Scapeshift. He has turn 3 Tron and then Ugin, which didn't matter, but Ulamog. I draw not a single ramp spell and cascade into Lightning Bolt and a super late ramp spell and lose to Ulamog. In the next game, I have Beast Within and Search for Tomorrow, but not much else. I hope to draw something, but don't. He gets Ugin, then Ulamog and an ultimate and wins. I eventually Beast Within his pregame Leyline of Sanctity. Pretty common card today I guess. 0-2.
I finish 3-3. I had a rough day and actually actively wanted to play against Mono Red Prison after being X-2. I figured I may as well play both of them, right?

I played in a 40 person Modern Staples tournament today.
Round 1 vs. Burn. He mulled to 6. I mulled to 5. I just didn't draw anything much but lands. Scapeshift may have gotten me there had I drawn a single ramp spell.
Same as above, except I took out the 1 Grafdigger's Cage (what is that going to do anyway?) and put a Thrun, the Last Troll to hedge against the many Control decks that people like to play in that area.

I want to ask a question for those of you here. What would you do in this situation?
You are on the draw. Your opponent just lead Cavern of Souls, naming Human, and played Aether Vial. They are on Humans. Your hand consists of Mountain, Cinder Glade, Wooded Foothills, Search for Tomorrow, Lightning Bolt, Sweltering Suns, Bloodbraid Elf and you have just drawn Prime Time for the turn. Do you fetch a Forest or a Stomping Ground for the Search for Tomorrow?
Here's my thoughts. You want a Stomping Ground, so that later potential Valakut triggers from the Prime Time will come earlier. You can also probably afford the life loss since you have Bolt and Sweltering Suns vs. them. But you could save 2 life, but also guarantee that your Cinder Glade comes into play untapped (like if they Meddling Mage the Search for Tomorrow and Lightning Bolt both, so you can't Bolt with Search on the stack). Or is that too much thinking? It's probably Stomping Ground, right?

I think basic forest is correct here. You need to make sure that your Cinder Glade comes down untapped on turn 3, and with a forest you guarantee turn 3 sweltering mana. Do they name SFT with meddling mage? I dont know, but if they do and you fetched stomping ground you are pretty screwed. Additionally every point of health matters in a matchup where they can drop a couple Mantis Riders post wrath to finish you off. I dont see the need to aggressively fetch for the Stomping Ground.
I got slaughtered at GP Las Vegas. Thought I'd play against fair matchups and have solid draws. I was dead wrong.
Round 1 Bye.
Round 2 Bye.
Round 3 vs. Storm. I recognize the name from local grinding, but haven't met the guy before. No grave hate cards in my 75. He has a turn 3 Baral. I do turn 3 Sweltering Suns. He has a turn 4 Baral and goes off to kill me. I had Prime Time next turn, so probably had him dead in 2? In the next game, I fetch a bit around Blood Moon and play a Tracker. He then kills me on his turn 4 again. I kind of wish I had Scapeshift, but I had Prime Time next turn. Kind of slow. Should I have mulliganed to a Lightning Bolt? Not sure. I still could have drawn one and I felt like doing a turn 4 Scapeshift was the best way to win, outside of Blood Moon. 0-2.
Round 4 vs. Humans. I have a good hand that has a Prime Time for a Valakut trigger to kill a Meddling Mage and free up a Bolt from Kitesail Freebooter, but I draw Sweltering Suns for the turn and do that instead. He has no gas and I Prime Time to finish him off in 2 turns. In the next game, I do more of the same. An early Bolt to slow a Champ. In the late game, I draw no gas and a 7/7 Lieutenant is killing my Baloth and Tracker, but the Tracker drew me a Valakut and I fetched and then cast Search for Tomorrow from hand to win. 2-0.
Round 5 vs. Jeskai. In the first game, I just got 2 Valakuts. I know, lucky. He countered Prime Time, but a Farseek resolved and I fetched for a total of 12. In the next game, it was similar, but he had Field of Ruin and then got Teferi and Jace (I know, odd version) to gain control of the game. It was a long, grindy game and we finished with 9 minutes to go. In the next game, I resolved Thrun, the Last Troll on turn 3 and had Prime Time and Summoner's Pact in case he Cryptic Commanded to tap. He did an upkeep Vendilion Clique and understood the dilemma. He scooped a few turns later and dropped from the tournament, probably killing my tiebreakers and any chance of top 8. Didn't matter. I ended up not day 2ing and it started in the next round. 2-1.
Round 6 vs. Burn. He won the die roll. I ramp up awkwardly after a slow start, but he had double Eidolon of the Great Revel, so my Sweltering Suns to kill those and Goblin Guide paved the way for a Bolt/Boros Charm to end me. In the next game, I got Obstinate Baloth and got a Tracker, which quickly found me Prime Time. I was low, but dodged a top deck Bolt to kill me. In the final game, I did Obstinate Baloth and after he missed his 2nd land drop on turn 2, I thought I had a good chance. But he hit it on turn 3 and got double Rift Bolt to power 2 Monastery Swiftspear past my blocking Baloth after a Bolt came too. He ended up just having too much gas, mostly because he didn't have many lands and the 3rd land killed me. Kind of wanted to draw a single Scapeshift in this match, which technically I did - a 1 Mountain hand with Scapeshift that I mulled in game 3. Too bad. Now lost to Burn the past 2 times after going 4-0 since Snow-Covered lands, lol. 1-2.
Round 7 vs. Grixis Shadow. He got a Gurmag Angler, which usually isn't enough to kill us. But Temur Battle Rage, me not drawing Sakura-Tribe Elder or ramp until the turn before lethal, or drawing a single land lost me the game. Got stuck on the original 3 and had double Bloodbraid Elf after drawing a 2nd one. Kind of wish he took an Elf instead of my Farseek. In the next game, it is similar, but I draw only lands and non Sakura-Tribe Elder ramp. Didn't have any gas or win-cons. Probably didn't matter at that point either. I wished he had drawn and played discard spells when I had 4 lands in hand, mostly my draw steps. He mulled to 6 in both games and CRUUUUSHED me. I'm out of contention for Day 2. 0-2.
Round 8 vs. Humans. Why not play another round for points? Should be an easy bracket, right? I had to find out where table 1335 was since I was just at 540 something. End up against Humans. In the first game, I got stuck on 3 lands again after a mull to 5. He named just the right things and I drew more of those too. In the next game, he nabs Lightning Bolt, then names Prime Time for my 1 PRime Time. I draw PRime Time. Then he names Anger of the Gods with an Image of Meddling Mage. I draw Anger of the Gods. He deserved to win this match. I had sided out 1 PRime Time and 2 Scapeshift in preparation for this. Probably should have left 3 Scapeshift, but had to make way for Anger of the Gods, Roast, Tireless Tracker and Ob Baloth. Is there another way to side? 0-2
I finished 4-4 after a 4-1 start that was impeded by Storm. I played Humans in a 3 round Thursday event and easily 3-0ed. I probably should have just played that, but honestly the variance in the last 3 rounds was just too much. I understand not drawing well vs. Storm. It's a bad matchup anyway, right? So it may not matter much. Have a little chance or have no chance? I actually kind of won the matchup lottery. I only played 1 match that was a bad matchup. I didn't play vs. Lantern, Hollow Bois, Grishoalbrand, or Infect. The last 3 rounds just didn't go my way, although I did win my first DIE ROLL IN THE FINAL ROUND. I was on the play in Round 8.

I assume we deal with it the same way as everything else (Rec Sage, Nature’s Claim, Natural State...). But I don’t see this card being played as long as Blood Moon is in the format. It’s a much better card and straight up wins games, which this card doesn’t do.
What is your current list looking like?

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)I just have a Rec Sage maindeck and and additional one in the SB for the not infrequent g1 blood moons.
Otherwise, screw interacting, just let me scapeshift asap
The growth spasm is something im trying out. There is an excellent write up about the bbe growth spasm list on channelfireball. I guess the spasm is there to provide a blocker or a turn 4 titan with land drop for the turn.
It is also a card hit with BBE which adds value. Im going to test it some and see how it plays. Not entirely sure on BBE either but thats just at first galance.
Round 1 vs. Lantern.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)Round 1 vs.

Same as above, except I took out the 1 Grafdigger's Cage (what is that going to do anyway?) and put a Thrun, the Last Troll to hedge against the many Control decks that people like to play in that area.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)You are on the draw.

Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build)(dead format for me)I think basic forest is correct here.
