"Endbringer to keep Ulamog in check" That's a funny one
One of the problems is that your good sideboard plans (Surgical and Needle) get turned off by your best plan (Chalice on 1). If you want to focus on winning that matchup then you'd be better served playing Spyglass over Needle.

I think Needle and Chalice together might be ok in that matchup, because you can play a T1 Needle naming Karn proactively and a T2 Chalice, assuming you have both in your starthand. Still Spyglass might be better.
Are you not playing Karn Liberated in your own deck? Even if not, I'd be going with Oblivion Stone if I'm playing Needle T1 in the dark.
I can relate. I had a 90-100% lose rate vs affinity. The card that has won me a game before is wurmcoil engine. Recently ive dropped 1 chalice of the void and gone up to two basilisk collar. This too has helped. The life gain is huge and in my experience chalice has been pretty weak for me recently especially on the draw. So i decided to drop one for an extra collar.
chalice on zero (2 later if you can), ratchet bombs out of the side. But it's a rough matchup, If I'm winning v affinity I usually drew multiple ballistas because it's the one thing that interacts well with ravager activations. Plating is the scariest card by far. With more infect appearing again, enough bogles and utility v affinity I've been considering a spellskite in the board. Gut shots are also nice here especially since you generally aren't using chalice on 1.
Anyone having any good luck with Karn, Scion of Urza? And if so, how many copies, 1 or 2? Thanks.

I personally felt @WarMachinePrime that one must spend the cash on Karn Liberated or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. Karn, Scion of Urza isn't good enough. I mean, I personally love the draw ability on him but that's all he is. Liberated gives you field advantage, so does Ugin.
Here's my deck as it stands. My format has a lot of red decks, including Mono Red/Burn, Jund, Living End, Storm and Dredge. Here's what I go so far and would like some advice...
I know my sideboard isn't complete. Hence why I'm asking for some advice. Outside a fourth Chalice of the Void, what else could I use to help take out what I'm having problems with?
I haven't Cavern of souls, but anyway they have Fiel of Ruin.
How are you going against control?
If you can ramp her out, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn ends your controlling opponent pdq. You'll also want to invest in Cavern of Souls. Even running one helps you tremendously.
Cavern of Souls running as two or three copies, I'm using one or two myself as Control is NOT big in my meta ATM. At the very least, you go from giving Jeskai a bye into making them earn it. Emrakul would be a sideboard option. She does end Control games as soon as she hits the field AND she cannot be countered.
Seems we have fallen a bit out of favor at this moment in time. Things tend to run in cycles, hope we see a resurgence soon.

Just take a look at the metagame breakdown right now. Very few of the most widely played decks are positive matchups. The meta is really fast and wide right now which is something E-Tron really struggles with - decks like Humans, Hollow One, Bridgevine, Spirits, both types of Affinity, etc. These are decks that don't care about Chalice and when that's the case I think the deck just isn't worth playing rather than trying to swap it out for mediocre colorless removal spells. Gx Tron is a format pillar and is a bad matchup, and even UWx Control which used to be favorable is more difficult now because of all the tools they've gotten lately.
It's unfortunate because I do love the deck, and I do fire it up for a league here and there, but I do that in the Friendly room
Matchups are a little worse at this time for sure.
I think there is a lot of the "what have you done for me lately?" mentality out there as well. The meta changes and will change, we will be on the upswing eventually. Again, all it takes is one pro into a Final Four at a GP or some one else winning a SCG event and interest will swing back a bit. Modern playerbase seems very fickle at times.

Yes. Playing 2 in the main and generally is a good card in most matchups. Unless in the opening hand. Good card draw plus some dorks which are surprisingly large due to usually having 2 or 3 other artifacts in play. I like them. Plus they can be cast through blood moon and dampening sphere fairly easily.
Also it is my experience with the number of times that I have played affinity in the queues online (0-9 all time) is that if you expect a lot of affinity either the traditional build or the hardened scales build just don't play this deck. Affinity is such a tough match up that I don't even bother trying to side for it. If I get paired against it I play just to hope that they mull and draw into nothing and give eldrazi tron a chance. There are more winnable match ups the the sideboard should be used for. There are some very narrow draws that might get one game out of the match but relying on getting that draw 2 out of 3 is just against the odds. I like having board spots for graveyard hate and hate for humans and spirits.
Guys lets be honest, this deck is death and the reason is, like i tryed to explain bevore it was to late, chalice. Chalice is Bad in this meta and Decks having problems with chalice kicked out and New answers comes in. Chalice out and 4 relics in is thE key like i tried to explain so often in the past bevore this topic dyed. This is the reason, time to accept it maybe now?
Yeah, I love a 5/5 haste on turn three as much as the next person but when my opponent goes triple Hollow One on turn one (which happened to me this past FNM and I'm still salty about it) you wonder about your life/deck choices.

I have been all in one zero chalice in the 75 and 4 Relic in the main for about 2 months now and I don't regret it at all. Relic is relevant against a large number of decks and at the very least it cycles for a draw card which this deck generally needs a lot of. I prefer Eldrazi Tron over Green Eldrazi as at least this deck has quick beats with Thought-Knot and Reality smasher. Where as Green Tron tends to do nothing quite a bit.
With the printing of Assassin's Trophey one of trons better match up, GB and Jund, just got a lot closer to even then it has ever been. I am now at about 55% win against these decks when I used to be 80%.
I think this arch-type is tier 2 but it still has game. In my last 4 leagues I have been 4-1,4-1, 3-2, and 4-1. Even in the past two months that I've started playing this deck again I have been able to grind and win. Clearly there are some bad match ups but that has always been the case. I think that this deck needs to be retooled for the quicker meta but I haven't quite tested what that looks like yet.
I have been thinking about dropping Karn Liberated all together as currently it is in the side and I don't usually bring it in against anything but the tron mirror. However I'm probably wrong in that there is more use for Karn Liberated then just the mirror.
Of all Eldrazi titans, Newlamog is the most iconic of all for me and would definetly deserve a reprint...
Bolded the important bit for you there. You may have an attachment to the newer card but let's remember that the original e-titans are pricey and fairly due for a reprint. They see decent play generally speaking (not necessarily in modern) and the rugged older versions are more iconic for mtg generally than the newer, sleeker versions that are still within recent memory in standard. That much can be said without much argument.
Besides the newer titans are cheap for the most part. People would have complained if they'd ignored the originals for this ultimate Masters set.
