Ratchet Bomb is very important against Affinity and Lantern, as I learned the hard way. Also, fine against Spirits, but All is Dust is better. They generally don't have a way to stop it, the problem is hitting 7 mana.

I see most lists play chalice, which cuts you from playing Stirrings.
Is it worth to slow your opponent down with chalice and loosing the consistency stirrings offers in return?
I personally love the ancient stirrings it allows you to find more threats. I haven't played a whole lot with chalice main deck so I cant speak to that as much.
The fact that some people are experimenting/brewing with some green spells doesn't make it a part of the deck.
Ancient Stirrings is a key card in "G/w/r Tron" and "Bant Eldrazi" but not here and even splashing Green in this deck wouldn't be a good idea as without using Chromatic Star/Chromatic Sphere like "Tron" (or Noble Hierarch/BoP in "Bant Eldrazi") for color fixing you can't reliably plays Ancient Stirrings (or Sylvan Scrying) on time as there aren't enough land slots with 12x going to Urza lands and 4x to E.Temple.
Was this more constructive ?
Im telling you from months of play with the deck that ancient stirrings is good, you don't need to cast it on turn 1 its good at every point in the game. It is a very powerful effect that does a lot for the deck. Also just because nobody on mtg goldfish isn't playing it just means they haven't tried it, probably because there playing the same stock list everyone else is. Im not saying that Chalice isn't great because we all know it is, but there are other great options for this deck and ive found that ancient stirrings and path are very effective.

Yes, stirrings and path are good, that's why GW tron exists. There is a thread to discuss Gx tron decks and it isn't this one. Here the deck is Colorless and it doesn't want to play stirrings, nor green sources. It's not just a 1x1 swap (you can't just take out chalices and bring in stirrings), you have to warp the manabase and many other slots in the main deck to profitably play that single green spell (like the chromatic eggs). This decks says 'screw eggs and stirrings, let's just play Eldrazi threats instead' and chooses to play TKS, Reshaper, Smasher and Endbringer.
There is no room for stirrings in the deck, it's not a deck that improves with stirrings, it's a bad Gx tron if you choose to play stirrings in C Tron.

To add stirrings you have to play green, and you have to play enough green sources to reliably cast it on turn 1. That means making your deck less consistent and then recouping some of that with stirrings. Chalice is actually that powerful and takes care of what would otherwise be a hole in our plan (fast decks, combo decks, etc.). It's not worth adding a color, losing access to all the powerful utility lands and losing chalice just to play stirrings. Bant Eldrazi needs it in part because it's a 4-color deck and it's the only way besides Noble Hierarch to accelerate in mana more reliably. We have tron lands, temples and expedition maps, bant has hierarchs and stirrings (and also the option of naturally drawing temples).
While you do lose access to playing ghost quarter you pickup spells like path which I prefer as well as great sideboard cards. you don't have to using stirrings to find lands I commonly use it to find TKS, smasher, ugin, karn and everything else. Having white open constantly makes your opponent believe you have path, I believe part of the success of my version of the deck is that people are accustomed to seeing the colorless version (if they've seen eldrazi tron at all) and frequently misjudge how much interaction I have.

I understand your opinion but I disagree. I've played a lot of games and I know how strong the cards are.
Personally I think we should concentrate on the colorless version. I think G splash almost turns it into another deck something more akin to RG Tron. Nothing wrong with that but its a variant that doesn't quite fit the archetype. Happy brewing and playing.

We will just have to agree to disagree. Reworking the mana base to play G cards changes the deck closer to GX Tron play lines if you ask me. I'm not discouraging anyone from doing so, but changing the mana base and dropping Chalices I believe veers away from the core strategy of the colorless version. Play what you desire.
And yes, Ballista is flat out good in most match ups.

I just wanted to follow up with I hope if people want to discuss G splash EldraziTron in this thread that they don't think I'm against it or them. There is definitely room to discuss those builds as well. Ingenuity breeds success. I think we have room here for variants like those that don't swing too far away.
Also for some of the comparisons, in my opinion…
Conduit > Sower
Ballista > Walker > Endless One
Sanctum of Ugin > Tomb of the Spirit Dragon
Mimic just seems out of place without Eye of Ugin

It's interesting that Eldrazi Tron is putting up some results on MTGO and yet had exactly zero copies in all of the SCG regionals - I know you guys love the deck regardless - but what does this mean for Eldrazi Tron in a paper meta?
For those on Sea-Gate Wreckage, there is the option of running Conduit of Ruin or Planar Bridge and cutting SGW for another land. Just tutor up what you want. Works great. Cutting Endbringers or Batterskulls can be tough but try it out, see what you think.
I love the Basilisk Collar/Ballista or Endbringer combo, but a 1 cmc it makes the collars a nonbo with Chalice. 6 vs 4 1cmc spells locked out does make a difference.

I'm playing the Pascal Maynard stock list -2 Skite +2 Ballista, the deck is such a blast to play! So far 2 4-1s in Comp Leagues. Walking Ballista is one of the absolute best cards in the deck, considering adding a 3rd one over 3rd Endbringer.

Deck feels really good, but Titanshift is giving me a hard time in testing (and also is the loss from today).
You guys have some tips or maybe good dedicated card ideas vs Scapeshift/Titan decks?

The great Eldrazi Overlords will return to the Modern World.
Out of curiosity, anyone have any interest in testing Metallic Mimic as a 2 of?
Naming Eldrazi is the obvious choice. Taking TKS out of Galvanic Blast range or Endbringer/Smasher/Conduit out of Dismember range sounds good as well. Making Smasher trample through for an extra damage never hurts. I've also thought naming Construct would enable you to cast Walking Ballista or Hangarback Walker at one basically for zero mana. A "free" spell tacked on to M.Mimic turn two. Or Germ could be named and Batterskull could be equipped on another Eldrazi and we'd be left with a chump blocking 1/1 Germ token.
I'm not sure it would be worth it but I'm always trying to brainstorm new strategies. Any interest?

I think topdeck the card is way too bad for after T2.
Also id have no idea what card to cut for that.
Id say its not worth it at all. If anything id play more Ballista

OK, thanks for the thoughts. I'm pretty much in agreement with you both. Other than an early game play it seems like a bad draw. Might as well stick with Eldrazi Mimic if you are looking for a 2 drop. I guess that might bring up another question, are there any other viable 2 drops out there that may contribute to the game plan?

I completely agree, adding G does NOT make this anything like G/X Tron, having stirrings doesn't change the beatdown plan of the deck at all. For those interested my mana base
is 4urza's tower 4 urza's power plant 4urza's mine 4eldrazi temple 3brushland 2temple garden
1 wastes 1 forest 1tomb of the spirit dragon

(SB cards: "Relic, G.Cage, R.Bomb, P.Needle, B.Collar, O-Stone" and Chalice, E.Map, Spellskite, Batterskull, Walking Ballista, Wurmcoil Engine)
In this case it is probably not relevant.
