Leylines are goodish but take 4 slots of your side if you really want them to work. Nature's claim and thrag and g so it's not really a difference. Blessed Alliance just isn't as good as brutality. For 2 mana, you can remove a swiftspear and get a burn spell out of their hand. They can't skullcrack or atarka's command you in response to negate it either like blessed or thrag.
I've lost too many games to a skullcrack in response to thragtusk.
About leylines, burn is almost certainly bringing in destructive revelry. If their start is 1-2 gobbos/swifties then blow up your leyline before burning you you're very dead.

Leyline also gives the burn player more live targets for destructive revelry.
There's so many targets in the deck that they're going to hit something with that Destructive Revelry, so I don't think this matters much. Better they be forced to hit the Leyline than for them to hit your Wurmcoil Engine with it when you attack, for example.
What are the preferred printings and art for the Urza lands?
I'm interested in getting the chronicles printing - however - should I get all the same art for each playset or should I get different art?
Also I've heard that getting the Urzas Mine that looks like a Tower can be a good 'strategic' choice.
I just got Chronicles because that was what my buddy had in his trade binder years ago. I don't think it really makes a strategic difference, unless you're playing someone REALLY bad, but I would actually like to get black border foils if they are ever reprinted.

If you don't mind white borders (I actually prefer them for the Urza lands, makes it stand out compared to the rest of the deck), I think the Fifth Edition ones are the best. I think the art they picked for those are the best choices of the Antiquities/Chronicles arts (and I like it more than the 8th/9th Edition ones also), and it has better print quality than Antiquities or Chronicles so they look better.
it's entirely a personal choice. I went for as many different arts as I could find, but if i were going black border, i would probably want all the same art....but that is STRICTLY personal preference

They do exist, you can get eighth or ninth edition foils and they have black borders. They're dumb expensive though.
Personally, I have a full set of Chronicles full art alters, and another set of foreign black border. Tron is basically all I play so I'm slowly pimping everything out.

Oh, I know they exist, but a set of 9th edition foils would be ballpark $600. For another like $150, I could buy Affinity straight up. if I were going to drop 600 on foils, it would be foils I can use in EDH if Wizards decides to nuke Tron.

What are my odds of beating burn game 1 if I mainboard 4 collective brutality? Or should I forget about ever beating burn and just go with fatal push and dismember?
I like the seth manfield list but don't understand why it runs just one blooming marsh; i always liked the blooming marsh. and should we always run 2 basic forest? i was gonna split it with 1 forest and 1 swamp.

Llanowar Wastes comes into play untapped always, that's why. If you run 3-4 Blooming Marsh, there are times that you will die because you need the 4th land for Ugin or Oblivion Stone and you have to play a tapped land instead. A single Blooming Marsh gives you something that you can tutor that won't damage you if you decide to delay getting tron to spend a turn casting push / brutality against an aggro deck. But running the untapped lands is much more important against a wide range of decks (even though occasionally you'll have to take 1-2 points of damage from your lands).
Nothing fancy about the list whatsoever, Walking Ballista is just a house. It closes out the games so fast. Only 2 Nature's Claim in the SB since I run World Breaker, but was thinking of trimming down to 1 based on the lack of non-creature permaments that are actual threats.
Won against GDS, GDS, Living End (Maindeck relic ftw), some GW Monstrosity, then Merfolk (got lucky).
So, is there a updated general guide on how this deck is supposed to be played
Mulligans etc
I figured the post here is good but noticed is was about 4-5 years old now.
I know most of this deck is straight forward but I'm wanting to see some indepth deck techs for this
how to use ballista, when is too early
stuff like that
videos are best but im not opposed to reading!!

Play it thinking you are a control deck. Prioritize survival at all costs, focus on destroying anything that is threatining you, and don't worry about winning until you are fully stabilized. Remember you don't need rush Tron unless Karn/O-Stone/Ugin are your best options to survive, and that if you live long enough, you WILL win, as our endgame is flat-out absurd.
The deck is ridiculously redundant, has ton of cantrips and mulligans really well, so don't be afrait do go down to 6 or 5 if necessary. A T3 Tron hand is ideal, but any hand that has any combination of two between Tower/Plant/Mine/Scrying/Map and at least two lands total is keepable. Single-land hands with Chromatics and Stirrigs are often keepable, but be careful about what would happen if you get hit with a discard spell.
Fast Aggro and Spell-Based Combo are our nightmare decks. None of the three color splashes (Black, Red, White) is favored against these, but each splash makes a particular subset of matchups "less bad":
* Black: Helps with Shadow, Burn and Combo
* Red: Helps with "Go-Wide" decks like Affinity, Elves, Humans
* White: Helps with Eldrazi and Graveyard decks
so not many people seem to post here that much. i have an event on saturday that i'm thinking about going to. this is the list i'm thinking of running.
do you think the sideboard is good for going into a completely unknown meta? i've never been to this store before and have no idea what to expect from the place. i've been playing standard lately so i haven't really been following what's going on with modern. but this event is pretty tasty (first is $400 and a SCG IQ invite).
i've been testing on mtgo and it seems pretty decent. i think the issue i have is sideboarding.
