Remember to use your removal spells at the end of their turn if possible so you don't get blown out by pump spells or protections before damage and you should be fine
For what you really want them (Boggles), the only real replacement would be Ratchet Bomb as Pyroclasm and Anger of the Gods won't kill their creatures most of the time
At a PPTQ with a Meta that's mostly Humans, Burn, very little tron, a bit of mardu and control- Is it a terrible idea to swap 2 maindeck Brutalities for 2 Lavamancers in the sideboard? I'm thinking that would help out the humans matchup but I don't know if it's worth it.

I like to play 1 Grim Lavamancer in my maindeck, I removed Tasigur, the Golden Fang to make room for it. If you expect Burn I wouldn't advise removing Collective Brutality as it's your best card for the matchup. IMO the best card against Humans is Fatal Push as their creatures are sometimes too large to kill with just 2 damage
Has anyone ever considered Rancor in the main? 1 mana to give trample and extra strength? Could surely close out games and make chump blockers not an issue.

For that kind of effect Legion Loyalist is quite powerful as you can completely ignore all tokens, specially good vs Mardu Pyromancer and it's a creature to trigger Vengevine if you are running them
Buddy of mine played my version of R/B Hollow One at Modern Sunday Funday today. Went 3-0 vs Storm, Tron, and Burn, and didn't drop a single game. Still of the opinion my version is practically 100% optimized.
hey guys, interested in building this deck as i have most of the mana base and it seems very fun and powerful.
the only problem i see is... the price of goblin lore. is catharthic reunion an okay replacement in the meantime? or does it just not work? i proxied the deck up and it seemed to be working pretty fine, though the other two discard spells felt better.
also, what about this new bridgevine deck? from what ive gathered the strategies seem very similar, which deck do you think is the strongest and why?

Unfortunately Goblin Lore is quite irreplaceable as it enables Hollow One by itself, Cathartic Reunion has another drawback and it is that you need another 2 cards in hand to cast it, which you sometimes can't and to put the cherry on the cake, if it gets remanded you are probably too much behind to win that game. That's why Goblin Lore is much better here even if it's a random discard, drawing and then discarding is also usually better. You can play with Cathartic but it will be subpar.
I am also playing Bridgevine and it is more explosive and wins more times on G1 BUT it also folds much harder to graveyard hate as it can't do much without a graveyard and doesn't usually play green to deal with it, here you can put a lot of pressure even if the opponent starts with a Leyline of the Void as you can still beat with Flameblade Adept and cast your Hollow One quite early.
Bridgevine is still not as refined and might become better but right now, I think Hollow One should perform better. As Bridgevine is getting so much attention, sideboards are full of graveyard hate, Hollow One can fight it better and it's still able to do some nasty things on the early game
Hopefully, you won't be facing that deck very often, Ancient Grudge should help a lot, most list aren't playing Big Game Hunter as there aren't many Eldrazis nor Tarmogoyfs out there, it's still useful for dealing with Death's Shadow but it will usually be easier with Fatal Push (which also kills Tarmogoyf and Thought-Knot Seer if you have Revolt), Reality Smasher is the most difficult one to deal with but it usually attacks everytime so you can race it

Then take out 2 delve cards (as they don't work well with Grim Lavamancer), 4 Bloodghast (not great in this matchup) and 2 Flamewake Phoenix (you are probably only going to bring 1 or 2 as you want to be open to play your removal spells or activate Grim Lavamancer), maybe you want to take out another card to make room for 1 Ancient Grudge to kill their Inkmoth Nexus but I think you can be fine without it, you would already have 3 Fatal Push, 4 Lightning Bolt, 2 Engineered Explosives and 3 Grim Lavamancer to deal with their creatures.
