Like, what are you cutting for Light Up the Stage? I guess.... Grim Lavamancer? or in Mono-red you need something to replace Charm and Helix. But seems worse than faithless looting.
Talking about probability, there is almost as much chances that you get 1 land 1 spell than 2 spells, and a small chance you get 2 land.
I would probably remove the white splash, or at less Helix. It costs occasionally 3 life to grab a Sacred foundry in order to regain 3 life. We can also keep white or go for black instead ! Boros charm and Bump in the night are pretty much close in powerlevel. The difference as always been in the sideboard because of Path to exile that has not an equivalent in black, and Rest in peace that has Nihil's spellbomb/Leyline of the void to compete.
Black has Assassin's Trophy if you're willing to go Green as well, which also gets you Destructive Revelry and Atarka's Command. Jund burn is what I've been on since that card came out.
Close...like I said, it either needed to be a 3/1 or 3/2 with a drawback or a 2/2 with a bonus ability. Maybe something else will show up.
That one is probably the safest 2cmc Riot card they could make. It's possible that there's more at low cmc, but doubt it. There's just not much room at 1 or 2 with the Riot ability, it's either broken or not good enough.
Even if they made a 1cmc one for R/G, it would have to be a 2/1 or better to be playable in Burn and I don't think they'd print that without a downside.
Not sure how much discussion there's been about this (haven't played in several months) but how do we want to sideboard against the various flavors of Arclight Phoenix decks? I feel like most forms of graveyard hate are too slow and dilute our plan too much, and look really silly against Crackling Drake. Do we just board in a couple Paths and call it good?
I'm not sure how to side against that deck, as i never played against yet.
Path for sure.
Then i think i would still board in RIP. Yes it does nothing against drake, but at least it does something against the phoenix/bedlam reveler/looting/etc...
I think would also bring in deflecting palm (i play 2 in my sideboard). Could be funny against a drake ?
I would board out 3 skullcrack as i dont think they will gain any life (yes i play 3 skullcrack maindeck).
and i would probably board out some lava axe/boros charm as it doesnt target creatures
What do you guys think ? do you think the logic would be the same for the similar decks :
UR phoenix, mono red phoenix, mono red hollow one phoenix, BR hollow one phoenix)
@cannspec, the sideboard section was updated a long time ago, it might not be up to date.
its also missing the spirits matchup, (and probably more if we start thinking about it)
@elconquistador, you did a great job with the sideboard section on the first page. Would it be possible to update it with the current meta ?
I guess its a hardwork to do, maybe we could just brainstorm here and write our matchup/sideboard strategies here ?
So i think against UR phoenix, i would do :
+ Path to exile
+ RIP
+ Deflecting Palm
- Skullcrack (if you play them maindeck, I do)
- combination of boros charm/lava spike
That what I was running, but I am not sold on RIP. Also not sure how good searing blaze is (feels kinda bad on a TitI), might be worse than charm or even skullcrack.

I've been planning on doing it and then having trouble finding the time. I still need to update the UW Control section and do Bant Spirits, but yes, I'll update it when I get some time. I apologize for being so slow about it lately.
As far as UR Phoenix, it turns out that Flores' most recent article talks about it and he's not high on RiP in that matchup (I'm not high on it ever, honestly). I'm also not that high on DPalm, either, because I've drawn it as a dead card plenty of times and I would much rather be pro-active than wait for my opponent to try to kill me before I can kill them. RiP in that matchup shuts down Phoenix and that's it. Drake counts grave+exile and Thing in the Ice doesn't care. I think Searing effects (though maybe Blood isn't worth it) and Path are where it's at. As far as what to cut, Skullcrack is just an expensive Lava Spike, so it can go. After that, I'd pull some Lava Spikes since they don't hit creatures. I think this matchup is just a race and we're faster.

Or this is what Burn needed to push the deck toward being mono-colored in Modern. Lavamancers back in the main to help make sure Spectacle is always an option. A full dozen fetches and 7 Mountains. Also lets us side into being a Blood Moon deck for the matches that that is really brutal.

I think on 19 lands, 4 Shard Volley is a recipe for disaster. 3 Skullcrack does not beat white cards unless there is s WILD amount of lifegain in your meta. I can definitely see a day where mono-red isn't just a budget call, but it's going to take more to get me to cut Helix and Charm. We will most likely play this new card, but I don't see a world where the white splash doesn't make a better deck, especially postboard.

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
I will replace all my destructive revelry for cinder lash.
I think its better because it allows us to be proactive. Just stick it into play on turn 2 and We will not need to keep always 2 mana open (just one mana).
In bonus, we might get 1-2 damage extra with it
For skewer the critics, im not convinced yet ...
It seems at best a lava spike ... at worst, a 3 mana lava spike
Dont forget its a sorcery, sonit might get akward often. For example, you cant play it before attacking (or while combat) with a swiftspear/guide ...
