Hello guys. I'm currently running a Mono-W list. What do you think? Any recommendations? Still new to the Modern format and I'm still testing the waters on the different metas.
cut honor the pure. It's good if you run 1 toughness 1 drops and brimaz, but otherwise it's not worth a slot. You are pretty heavy on the 3 slot for 22 lands, unless you never plan on sacing edge or ghostquarter. I would cut finks and mindsensor personally but it depends on your meta which 3 drop is worse. In a vacuum it is probably correct to cut mindcensor and crusader. 2 gideon seems like too many. I would run 1 at most. You already have shalai for when you want to raise your curve. I would just try and fit smugglers copter(you will probably have to also add thraben inspector to crew it) and/or mutavalt into the main as your hard to deal with threats. Finally 3 damping sphere seems high. It overlaps with a lot of hate already available. I am personally a fan of selfless spirit, but if your meta has a lot of liliana the last hope, walking balista, etc I can see not running another 1 toughness creature.
Forgot to mention that eldrazi displacer it's that powerful without eldrazi temple. You might want to shave it down to 2 or add temple to the base.

My local meta plays a lot of BGx, Hollow One/Vengevine, Tron, Spirits and Humans. It usually depends on who's available on that certain day. Most of the days that out of 10 players more than half of those would be playing the same mentioned decks. That's why my deck is pretty much convoluted. I usually come in minutes before the start of the first round so I don't have much time restructuring the deck to match the meta of the day.
I only won against Tron and Jund but got super dead to Elves and Humans because of how fast they can get creatures down and gets big quick. How are we against Elves and Humans? Any plan for these two decks?
So, do you guys think that a new card named Assassin's Trophy from Guilds (BG instant destroy any permanent, opp searches for basic) is gonna hurt especially BW EnT? What I mean is that increase in BG rock And Junds seems inevitable cuz the card is bonkers, and I think that it might hurts us both by increasing the number of our bad matchups(also pushing out some of our better ones) and also lining up terrible with our Arbiters and lastly, its another powerful-if not-ower the top- removal which is obviously good against a creature deck like ours with the upside (for them ) of hitting our sideboard cards and vials.
It's honestly not that bad. The matchups where you'll see it there is already Decay, Kolaghan's Command and/or Maelstrom Pulse and all of these are better trades than Trophy for the opponent. I'd say for BW especially this isn't a huge problem since you have Sculler and Thought-Knot to snipe it from hand early.
As far as the increase in Junk/Jund, I think it's a good idea to go bigger. Play some number of Reality Smasher or play Shalai for the protection. BW has the best chance against BGx I think since you have more big threats and can grind thanks to Stranglers
If you're playing BW maybe start packing an extra basic over the third Vent. I've been playing with a single Wastes and as janky as it sounds I've found that it works well

I have had the most success in using wrath to fight elves, but you can also try worship if they don't run Shaman of the Pack. Worship is also a good gotcha card vs humans. Unfortunately elves is a miserable matchup and humans isn't very good either. Ghostly prison is another reasonable card against humans and non elf aggro decks.
If you want to go really deep you can try sunlance. It is good for slowing down elves and can be a very flexible sb card in the right meta. It has been replaced by blessed alliance in most sb's at this point but keep it in mind.
Unfortunately there is a reason mono white d&t hasn't been performing and that reason is human's.
Very cool deck timtam. Original too.
Your main plan seems to be to keep your opponent off lands. Have you changed anything recently?
What are good and bad matchups?
Especially control how is that matchup?
And is it on purpose that you have 62 cards MD?
The main gameplan is to tax their lands, lots of greedy manabases here locally.
I wouldnt say there are bad matchups but there are bad hands that will cost you a game against the tougher matchups.
Control is the dream matchup. This deck has a stronger late game than any control deck i have faced.
62 cards wasnt on purpose but i do usually rock a 61 card maindeck. My bad. If i took the list to FNM tonight i would shave a Blessed Alliance.
BTW, Surgical Extraction, along with cards like Mana Tithe and the LD, makes this deck so much fun.
@ktno
In GW it's a straight upgrade of Reclamation Sage and even mainboardable. It's a fairly big body or it destroy something like a Bridge or Hollow One and it can gain you life against Burn. All in all it's strong ánd versatile.
GW also gains a strong card against Jund with Conclaive Cavalier. I'm certainly gonna try out GW after Ravnica releases.
Piloting the Mono White version for my LGS' FNM Modern. The meta's really control heavy with the exception of a Dredgevine player and a GW budget Hatebears. I went 2-2 last week with my Collected Company Slivers; got my butt kicked by Dredgevine and Grixis Control, got one bye and won against the GW player (was my first time playing at this store).
Thoughts? Also not clear on what kinds of metas to pilot Eldrazi & Taxes vs Mono White D&T, was wondering since Eldrazi seems like a reasonable upgrade price wise. Like why would I want Eldrazi versus Mono White?
Current Modern Decks W Death & Taxes // "Tax evasion? You wish." WB Eldrazi & Taxes // "This is the Eldrazi Revenue Service, we have you surrounded!" U Merfolk // "Sushi." B Obliterator Devotion "You're one ugly mofo!"
Former Modern Decks WB BW Tokens // "Bros and bros and ghost bros." BUR Elemental Combo // "What just happened?" WBURG CoCo Slivers // "I'm in love with the CoCo."
Eldrazi are better in a creature-heavy meta with the added removal. Mono White is stronger against Control with the land destruction and more taxing effects.
Quick question, is it still viable to replace the usual creature package of the archetype, tax creatures not included, and replace it with more hate and support cards? I had this in mind.
Thanks so much! On a side note, does anyone have any tips for going up against Dredgevine?

Well one of the best parts of DnT is that you can change out almost anything as it is a meta deck. The questions are always what is the meta and what is good against it. If your local meta is a little slower and has lots of ETB then your list may be good. However I (and I think most of us on the forum) never advocate cutting flicker wisp, it is your best card.

Noted. I used to run BW DandT. I was conflicted on removing Flickerwisp because it loses its value with Tocatli Honor Guard and my LGS runs either Humans or UWx Control. Control I can handle but Humans most of the time is auto lose because of the ETB effects. But let me see if I can find a way for Flickerwisp.

I just got back; went 1-1-1 at FNM.
I lost both match 1 games to RG Ponza; the first was close until he top-decked an Inferno Titan to kill my Mirran Crusader; the second game I got mana flooded.
I steamrolled KCI, only lost life in the first game because of tapping Horizon Canopy. First game Leonin Arbiter locked down their deck searching and they weren't able to find an answer til a legion of golem tokens and Flickerwisps took em down. 2nd game I mulled down to 6 but almost immediately drew into my Stony Silence; managed to also Path to Exile their Wurmcoil Engines while Leonin Arbiter was out and grinded them down with creatures.
I had a draw with Jeskai Control because our games went over; I feel like I could have won the 3rd game. Both games were incredibly grindy; I was able to continuously blow up his lands first game until he ran out of basics, then I destroyed all his Mountains. 2nd game almost ended as a stalemate until he played a Settle the Wreckage. Annoyingly, my opponent helped filter out all my basics but I still kept drawing into lands.
All in all I feel pretty good about tonight's games. I had to work hard but it feels nice, in a sort of post-workout kind of way. Debating on removing a land, since the main thing that screwed me over in two games was having mana flood.
