Probably a noob question but I always be wondered what the point of running eiganjo castle was. Yeah you can prevent 2 damage to your Thalia but in most scenarios Thalia would still die after damage is prevented. Maybe I’m missing something something? If someone can enlighten me that would be cool. Thanks in advance!

It's just a plains with an upside. The only downside is making your deck slightly weaker to blood moon. The card is by no means essential, and typically is only run in mono W, where you're not worried about moon anyway. Some corner cases come up where it's nice to have. For instance is lets thalia dodge kolaghan's command. It gets better with more legends. For instance, Thalia, heretic cathargets through lightning bolt or anger of the gods if you have it up.
Thanks for the clear up. The only legendary i would run in my builds would be little thalia but now it makes more sense. thank you!
Not having at least one copy of Big Thalia in your 75 seems like a mistake. She is very good in the current meta. She does a lot of work against Humans, any Tron deck, and decks that use a lot of fetched.

Right now I’m running BW eldrazi taxes actually haha. But when I was running mono white I did include 2 of in the main I just oversaw the interaction until now. Its my bad but I totally agree with you on having big Thalia in the main.

I have made an comparison between the new Baffling End and the classic Journey to Nowhere and I think that could be a replacement depending on the meta.
- Baffling End:
Pros: The creature exiled remains exiled forever.
Cons: Only for CMC equal or less than 3, not trigger tricks, puts a 3/3 dinosaur when the enchantment is destroyed.
- Journey to Nowhere:
Pros: All creatures are exiled no matter it's CMC, possibility of trigger tricks.
Cons: The creature exiled returns if the enchantment is destroyed.
The main disadvantages of Baffling are the ETron match (only affects the Reshapers) and cannot target Tasigur and Gurmag. I'm sure I forget something, but it may be a replacement for Journey. I'm going to try in my next matches.

I personally really dislike 1 or sometimes even 2 ofs in DnT. We have no filtering and very little card draw. I would rather try to play more of something if its good or not at all. I know that is different from what I have seen in a number of deck lists but personally I found 1 ofs did more harm then good.
I've gone 1-3 both times, but it has felt like 3-1.
First time I faced "gruul copter" (0-2), Pillow Fort (2-0), UW mill (1-2) and Red Affinity (1-2).
Last night I faced ETron (2-1), ETron (0-2), Affinity (1-2) and Red Affinity (1-2, same player as last time).
Eldrazi Displacer is a power house. I seriously don't know whether I prefer Displacer or Copter.
The first night I didn't play any Displacers to have room for MB Revoker and Mindcensor, (which after last night I realised was a mistake) and since I faced three "non-meta decks" I had no idea what to do (though winning over Pillow Fort by flickering a Phyrexian Unlife when he is at 0 life was very funny).
Small report:
Last night were all tight and close games. First ETron was fairly easy. He's an inexperienced player that I have played against before. Arbiter turn two both winning games and GQ/Tec turn three and four.
Second ETron was also a fairly inexperienced player but a Chalice on 1 turn two both games made it hard for me (since I started both games with at least two one drops). I won game one against affinity, mulligan to five games two and three and still kept him on edge thanks to Displacer shenanigans,no hate cards in sight except for O-ring and Blessed Alliance.
It was basically the same thing against Red Affinity.
After last night I removed one MB Splicer to make room for a fourth Displacer, and I am seriously considering removing one Arbiter for another land, probably Field of Ruin, because that’s the reason I had to mulligan, not enough lands.
I am also in a very creature heavy meta (affinity, humans, merfolk, elves/combo elves) and I have thought about switching one Resto Angel for a Linvala, Keeper of Silence. Has anybody thought of that? Or should I just jam her in my sideboard?

3 splicer and 4 displacer seems odd, displacer doesn't require tapping so it does no good to have mutliples on the field. I love displacer myself but think 4 is to much, especially with 4 restos. Better to have 4 splicers I think. For the 23rd land and the Linvala I think better to go down some combination of displacers and or restos.
If you have a creature heavy meta then by all means run Linvala but remember how little you will actually draw her in time against the fast decks you listed. Definitely do tune the main deck for your meta, Dnt is a meta deck after all.
Thanks for the clear up. The only legendary i would run in my builds would be little thalia but now it makes more sense. thank you!

I guess this depends on the version you play. Currently, I play a Mono-white version with 2 Smuggler's Copter, 4 Thraben Inspector, 2 Horizon Canopy, 3 Flickerwisps, 2 Eldrazi Displacers and a Resto Angel so I have a decent amount of card draw and some filtering. 1 and 2-ofs in DnT are very common. There are several cards that I think deserve 1 or 2 slots in a list but definitely not 3 or 4. I also feel like the deck would be worse if I didn't have these 1 or 2 cards in my list.
Hey everyone! I've been a follower of the thread and have enjoyed watching the streams @deathandcatmix. I think you all have done a great job promoting the deck and having meaningful, constructive discussions here on the thread. I've finally caved in and purchased the deck for myself on MTGO and have really enjoyed playing it so far. I feel like the deck is quite strong and match ups never feel unwinnable (I literally just beat a Tron opponent off a mull to four with Arbiter, Ghost quarter, vial, and path in hand. Feelsgood). Very interested in seeing what this deck can do and how it continues to evolve with the current meta. Right now I'm running deathandcatmix's list on the link:
Disclaimer: I usually report on eldrazitron forums here and legacy DnT at mtgthesource.
I have a long tale to share.
Last night in our New Zealand small town of 350K population averaging 14 players on a weekly Wednesday night modern at our sole LGS we had a full turnout of 28 players. Turns out (pun unintended) 7-8 irregulars turned up, some bringing their friends. My 13yo son the Legacy DnT hardcore was happy that 2 other kids (2x 15yo) turned up but wanted to lend out his eldrazitron deck to one of them as friend #2 had a sub-par deck.
The came the crazy idea: let's build a deck out of DnT, or whatever was inside our deck and library/folder. So I played librarian while he built his deck 30 minutes before the start of the event based on what we could get and what we could not. Funny enough he forgot to borrow a swamp or two from the LGS's land base.
Son was sick and with deck built decided to lend out the eldrazitron; after all he claimed mental fatigue alongside the flu and he's already won 4 weeks in a row with etron so let someone else have some fun while he goes back to deck familiarity for autopilot:
I don't quite have a report because I was very busy myself. LGS had time limits on opening hours so we were capped at 4 rounds. We ran out of room in the primary playing area so had to break out to another. Noise level was half that of a teenage party. Some highlights:
R1: budget boros burn no fetches/pain? Sat next to this match but was too busy so see much
G1: Burn player leaves a rift bolt suspended for 6 rounds before a judge call was made after passing turn when he wanted to have it trigger off while each was at 1-2 life.
G2: Somehow there were tidehollows involved with flicker for hand disruption and T4 landed a worship with a burrenton in play for permanent lock. Son swears he didn't intend it.
2-0: 1-0 . Son claims 5 misplays but autopilot took over. Took him T6 before he realized what his lock meant.
R2: WU control
G1: won
G2: won.
No report here cuz we were busy, sorry. In addition we went home 11pm and I started work today 5am so there. However he said something very familiar in Vegas Legacy GP: DnT ate blue decks for breakfast ("nom nom nom nom")
R3: Restore balance. Table 1.
G1: no report. Lost.
G2: no report. Won.
G3: I actually glanced this one occasionally. Kept 1 land hand with vial, thalia, tidehollow, flicker, etc in hand. Kept 7. On the draw. T1 concealed, vial. T2 tick vial to 1, draw vial, play vial (greedy). T3 Tidehollow disrupt. Opponent's T4 cascade looking for restore balance but dug out 2 cards deep: detention sphere (whew!). In the end opponent was bashed for 8 power on 7 life after vialing in 2 more creature (tidehollow, flickerwisp) on opponent's EOT alongside existing flickerwisp while having restore balance still suspended with 1? 2? counters on it.
2-1: 3-0. Claims 1 misplay here.
R4: Eldrazitron (another player), Table 1. This time he was alert as hell with adrenaline and applied "competitive REL moods" whatever that meant.
G1: Lost. Sideboard in: elspeth, kataki; out: can't remember.
G2: Won.
G3: Won. Opponent was hell bent to get rid of elspeth and he was hell bent to cast it. etron got outgassed (builds these days have reduced top-end threats)
2-1: 4-0.
Walked away with max store credit being the only 4-0. Appears that tidehollow in this shell outpaces TKS, although he claims it's slightly less powerful because opponent gets back the "best choice" to hand.
His afterthoughts: caverns was incredibly hard for value due to the diverse creature types, but it sure helped with displacer. He hated the marsh flats / godless shrines and would've gone for caves of koilos (at home library), as he again had difficulty using the displacers most of the time. And one swamp would help a lot in a fetching landbase.
I had some lame dude rage quit on me today as well after a turn 2 Thalia. They get soooo salty! Not sure how the deck isn’t competitive when it’s tier 2. Especially coming from a Merfolk player. Sorry our deck makes broken decks more fair

Is it too slow to bring in vs affinity?
Any other matchups where you like this card?
