A Green and white version of the deck just finished 5-2 in the online modern ptq this past weekend. Thats pretty impressive considering the stiff competition in those events.
Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?
It may be a little too early to count chickens, but I'm liking the feel of a lot of mechanics coming out with Amonkhet. I'm not sure I see anything that's clearly the right effect at the right cmc pricepoint for D&T, but so far Embalm and Exert seem like promising abilities.
Also: Anyone here testing with Smuggler's Copter? I've been testing with two but I'm wondering if the full four is better. It's a great beater and a resilient threat but:
1) Thalia makes it cost 3, and I'm running four Thalias
2) You can't Vial it in
Any further thoughts? Two Copter may be better for now.
I know DeathandCatmix and SpiderSpace have been doing work with Copter.
I haven't tested it as much as either of them but i find it to be incredibly important and have found 3 to be the right number. it actually compliments running the set of vial extremely well since you just loot away dead vials you draw in the mid-late game. The sequencing can definitely be a little awkward when you have arbiter thalia and copter in hand on turn 2 but unless i'm being beat down i've found copter to often be the best against an unknown opponent since it lets you dig to our relevant cards in the matchup and gives all our creatures pseudo haste
Why am I seeing Declaration of Stone in the SB of some Eldrazi and Taxes build? What is it for?
I believe it's a catch-all card, but in particular, it's something that's good against dsj when they drop multiple and we can't otherwise answer them. However, I see it as a budget EE.

I see, how about the 2x Fatal Push in the SB? is it a must have now? I personally like Dismember better.
Dismember is worse against the top deck in the format, Deaths Shadow, and the life loss is important as well. Fatal Push is just better in this aggro meta.

New Gideon seems sweet. I want to play that card somehow.
I have to disagree. He doesn't generate card advantage, his emblem is generally worse than worship and we just have better aggressive 3 drops.
Now trial of Ambition on the other hand looks really sweet. I've been having some troble with eldrazi tron recently and my meta is filled with deathshadow decks. I want to try it as at least a 1 of in the sideboard, because of the synergy with flickerwisp. I am currently running blessed alliance out of the board but might drop it for this. Thoughts?

Agreed, trial of ambition might actually be playable. It's flicker target for value, and could be decent in some metagames. Not sure about the current metagame, but maybe.
New Gideon doesn't belong in our deck.

Gideon looks better than Worship to me, and that card was seeing play in Taxes sideboards. The fact that his emblem is live with a Gideon, Ally of Zendikar in play is just a bonus. Also note that unlike Worship, this Gideon emblem protect you against poison counters or life loss.
Thats a good point on DS but eldrazi tron doen't care that much about tron. That's why it's a rough matchup. They just play higher quality creatures than I do. If I flicker wisp anything on their side of the table it's usually their reality smasher, so that I have a chance at racing them or a walking balista to force them to pop it. I've actually started to run intrepid hero out of the side, but it's not exactly a good card though...

After playing a lot of games with my GB Tron deck i got burnout, so was looking for a new deck to alternate, and after trying a lot of decks i end up trying D&D and loving it.
I ******* hate Blood Moon (Tron player) and the deck have plenty of double W so the basic land count is high
Common SB cards that destroy us are Pyroclasm/Anger of the Gods so having a MB answer in Selfless Spirit is pretty much a necessity, and when is not use for sacrifice purposes is just a 2/1 flyer hitting faces (Also can be put in the board with Aether Vial for a surprise create save)
Horizon Canopy is nice but the deck already have a lot of self-sacrifice lands and i find my self hellbent in long games so 2x Sea Gate Wreckage are a nice addition. They also produce C for Eldrazi Displacer
Aven Mindcensor is great vs most combo decks (Tron, Scapeshift, Instant Reanimator, Nahiri Control)
I am having great success on Xmage with this list. Suggestions welcome.
Eldrazi Displacer is great with so many blink targets (Flickerwisp, Blade Splicer, Kitchen Finks, Restoration Angel), I would use 4 (and I do in my mono white Eldrazi and Taxes deck). You could easily cut one or 2 Finks.
I would not run Cavern of Souls in this deck, since there is really no tribal element here. Also, they can't counter creatures coming in through Aether Vial.
4x Mirran Crusader in the sideboard seems a bit much IMHO. There are probably other matchups you want help against. Burrenton Forge-Tender comes to mind against Burn decks.
I agree that if your opponent is not running blue it is worst than a basic land specially on a mono white list, but sadly, counter spells does exist and when they become death cards in my opponent's hand, i feel joy knowing that salty blue mage tears falling.

Somewhat unrelated, Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun has me excited to test out unblockable Blade Splicer golems. Are there any other good D&T-tested token producers? Maybe a stretch into Bant for Voice of Resurgence? Esper/Lingering Souls? WUx Geist of Saint Traft??
Also, fingers crossed for an awesome 2cmc-4cmc white god creature.

Ill try cutting 2 Mirran Crusader for 2 Burrenton Forge-Tender and 2 Kitchen Finks for 2 Eldrazi Displacer. I feel that Cavern of Souls is super strong even if this is not a tribal deck. I generally name Human for Thalia, Guardian of Thraben / Blade Splicer / Mirran Crusader or Cleric for Leonin Arbiter and Selfless Spirit. It also generates C for Eldrazi Displacer, does not enter tap and last but not least i find my self setting my Aether Vial on 3 charges due the fact that i am running mostly 3 CMD creatures, so if found extremely valuable having a way to cast my very important 2 CMD creatures on a uncounterable way. Another thing i like to do is bounce my own Cavern of Souls using Flickerwisp and naming another creature type like Angel so i am sure is not counter. (I hate counter spells with passion)
