So I was taking a look at SB options and I was wondering if the metagame is good for Swan Song now. I've always favored 1 CMC spells over 2 as it's easier to hold 1 mana up. I think with Scapeshift/Titan and storm being a growing part of the metagame, Swan Song may be worth a look.
It hits everything dispel hits (Collected Company, Ad Nauseum, Summoner's Pact) as well as Past in Flames, Prismatic Omen, Anger of the Gods, Scapeshift, Phyrexian Unlife, and other high impact spells. I think a combination of Swan Song and Ceremonious Rejection gives us a good coverage for potential must-counter spells. A 2/2 bird is negligible IMO with how big and wide our creatures get.

Shooting down a baneslayer angel? Priceless
I watched his videos and the deck looks surprisingly good. I'm still not 100% sold, but I do admit it performed better than I expected. Definitely willing to admit I was wrong if the deck starts to get some legs.
These are the ones I've used since I started playing the deck. I highly recommend them.
Joe did well with his list, though I still feel that the mana isn't great. Mutavault might not be worth it in a deck that streamlined. It feels less like Merfolk as we've come to know it, and more like a Zoo deck.
I used to use the old ice age snow-covered islands that I've had since I was a kid, but I put them in my wife's pauper UR delver deck for skred a year or two ago. Since then, I just use my favorite BFZ full art that I pieced together as filler during trades.
I'm with Rothgar on the Islands... I just wish there were Korean versions. Noah Bradley's BFZ Islands are really nice as well, and the Unstable ones may be a replacement for me.
Small tournament last night, 12 players....poor results only 2-2
Match 1 against 8 Rack
Games 1 and 2 I mulliged to 5....so, nothing to say, easy 2-0 to him
Match 2 against Eldrazi Tron
Very easily game, the guy was new to the format, and a couple lords and a spreading seas did well game 1 and 2
Match 3 Against Abzan
Game 1 terrible, I took to long to find the second island, and a few IoK later I lost
Game 2 very grind game, with a bord full of creatures both sides. Spreading Seas closed the game
Game 3 He drew that ******* -1/-1 to mine and +1/+1 to their...*****
Match 4 against UR Control
2-0 very easy, Im learning how to play against controls...only 1-2 creatures at time
Notes: Phantasmal Image was very good, Vialing it was always very good, and any removal would kill my fishs anyway.
Im anxious to play with Kopala, if he was there last night, a few things could be diferent
Hand disruption is very strong against us =(
I don't think hand disruption is strong against us. Our deck is so redundant. I mean hand disruption is just strong in general but not especially against us.
Copter also survives Wrath to turn your Cursecatcher into a haste, looting, flying 3-power attacker. I don't play Copters, but they seem better here that paying 2 mana for +1 card (though that is a fantastic deal).
