Being a current Elf player. Since you all play this deck, do you think it's worth investing in? Like, do you feel it has a better win rate than Elves? Or are they comparable? Trying to decide whether to dive in or not, if it's worth it financially.
Game 1 you need a fast clock and either a Spell Pierce or a Cursecatcher to snag a key spell. Postboard, bring in all of the bounce/removal, countermagic, and graveyard hate that you can muster. This matchup is one of the big reasons I run 4 Relic of Progenitus.
@Kizzel: Merfolk is generally considered to have more game against the field than Elves, because we can actually interact with some of the combo decks and sweepers that give Elves trouble. Not quite as explosive (which is why we drop the head-to-head matchup), but more solid overall.
I have been having alot of success splashing Company!

Most of the CoCo lists ive seen have taken out Vial for Noble Hierarch. Regardless the general consensus has continued to be that, as with other colors, the splash is not worth it.
For what it's worth I think now is a reasonable time to experiment given the impact cards like Push and Collective Brutality have had on MoW, and flooding the board with more low cost fish seems like a good idea.
The problem I ran into was always sideboard. You lose a lot of flexibility and wind up having to side out CoCo in a number of matchups, which makes the splash questionable at best.

Phantasmal Image and Remand are about as bad as they've ever been right now. I urge you to consider alternative cards in those spots. I would go for the 4th Harbinger, 2 Spell Pierce main, and 2 Unified Will side.
Because if you go through the latest tier list, Remand is a massive dud against Abzan, Affinity, Bant Eldrazi, Burn, Elves, Knightfall, Shadow (both BGX and UBX), and the mirror, whereas Spell Pierce is useful against at least some of those decks. The only decks in that list where I'd actively want the card over Pierce are Eldrazi Tron and RG Valakut. The former is already favorable (especially with 8-Seas), and the latter is unfavorable and not going to be fixed by Remand. Because of that, hard pass.
Speaking of Eldrazi Tron, effects like Endbringer and Walking Ballista being popular have made Phantasmal Image significantly worse. Combine that with the fact that Tarfire drops the PhImage no matter what and that attrition decks can strand it in your hand, and I can't imagine wanting it right now.
5-0'd my 3rd Competitive league last night with Rothgar's exact 74 (for some reason the 2nd echoing truth never made it into SD and I didn't notice I was running with a 14 card SB till round 3). MU's were something like:
Rd1: Black White Tokens
Rd2: U/R Delver/Young Pyro
Rd3: Jeski As Fortold
Rd4: Bant Company
Rd5: U/R Delver/ Young Pyro (same guy from rd 2)
I brought in the extra seas in rounds 3&4. I have not dropped a round to As Foretold decks yet, but this Jeski list has shown to have the most promise for the deck right now. The mainboard Spell Pierces followed with more Countermagic in games 2&3 will be what keep us ahead of this deck. Without the namesake card, the deck is a worse Control deck.

I'm a HUGE Phimage fan. Love the card and have been trying to jam 1-2 copies in my deck for the past few years. Copying either a Reej or MoW offer up our most explosive plays, plus it has the versatility to copy any of our other utility Fish like Silvergil, Harbinger & Tidebinder or be another anthem. Or ya know, Ulamog if you are feeling frisky.
It is no longer in my deck.
Waaay too much spot removal & pingers. Not only does it die to the cards rothgar mentioned, but Kira is unable to protect it and you aren't able to fetch off Path. Then there is Lilly of the Last Hope not to mention any random buff effect. This is simply not the right meta for it.
As for Remand, we have a number of better tempo plays against aggressive decks that don't require us to hold up 2 mana. If we are holding up 2 mana for a threat we need to deal with (combo, ramp, etc) then we probably need a hard answer. Great card. Wrong deck.
I think Unified Will is our best sideboard countermagic option at this point. I like having Dispel for the Collected Company decks as a backup, but Will is definitely the leader in the clubhouse now. And Remand is a dud against Shadow and Burn because all of their stuff is cheap, so they'll just recast it. Taxing them 1-2 mana isn't exactly impactful. It's not as bad against Abzan, but discard generally beats it, so I learn towards siding them out/not siding them in. I wouldn't touch Remand right now.
I hear you. 3 Limited GPs, prereleases and release, Sealed Pptqs, Drafts firing, everything is about Amonkhet now.
I have to wait for few more weeks for another chance to play Legacy/Modern.
It's a "hard" counter for 1U, not situational, and 3 turns should be plenty of time for us to make a difference.
I haven't tried it myself since I'm barely playing these days, but I think it can be great in most situations.
Can someone see a downside to it?

Good read. Glad to know Copter is still doing work for you!
